A moment
Saras and Kumud were engaged.Saras left to Dubai promising Kumud that he will come back to wed her.But he went to depression when he read the suicide note of his mother left by Guman to depress him.According to the note she committed suicide as her husband Laxminandan had an affair with Guman.This led to a fight between the father and the son and left his house.In that depressing moment he rang up and told Kumud that he cannot marry her.Kumud and her family were shattered.In that anger Kumud's father Vidhyachathur decided to get her married on the same day to Pramad.
Saras could'nt sleep as Kumud's sad face and teary eyes kept haunting him.Kumud's painful pleading voice pierced his heart.
"Saras…I can't live without you.Please don't take a hasty decision".
Saras remembered his mother Saraswathi's suicide when his father cheated on her.
He got up from his bed.He panted like hell.He kept sweating.
"How could I refuse to marry Kumud?How could I wound the heart of the woman who taught me to smile.Kumud is the one who coloured my dry life.Then how could I hurt her?In a way I was cheating her like my father who cheated my mother.Dumping Kumud just before the wedding day is not less than cheating.Even the Gods I worship daily won't forgive me for this sin".
He remembered his beautiful moments with Kumud.
"No…I want my Kumud.I can't live without her".
Sunny came hearing it.He smiled.
Sunny:Finally you took the right decision Saras.Your wedding with Kumud should not get cancelled because of your foolishness.It will break her completely and you will be also broken.You have to marry her on the same day Saras.
S:Yes Sunny.I did a big mistake.I have to apologize to her.
He dialed Kumud's number.But unfortunately her mobile was switched off as she stopped charging it.Because that mobile is nothing for her now as she believed that Saras won't call her again after the bitter split.
S:Sunny…I can't wait.I am leaving now itself.I need to reach her soon.
Sunny:Ok Saras.All the best.
While packing the bag he noticed the nuptial chain he bought to make Kumud his.With a smile he put it inside her pant's pocket.
Finally Saras reached India.
His face blossomed:I will reach my Kumud in a few minutes.She will be surprised to see me.I know that she will forgive me as she loves me that much.
He rushed to her.He reached the destination. His eyes fell on the decorated area.He was shocked to see the board there.
'Kumud weds Pramad'.
His heart sank in the fear of losing Kumud.
Pramad tied the nuptial chain around Kumud's neck.Her tears flowed down.When he put vermillion on the parting of her hair she felt that her belly was pierced by a knife.She suppressed her pain for her father.
Suddenly Saras rushed inside holding the nuptial chain he brought for Kumud.He got inside screaming:Kumuddd!
Kumud was shocked to see Saras rushing inside.
Saras panted seeing his Kumud near another man.
Saras and Kumud looked at each other painfully.
Their tears fell down.

Vidhyachathur,Kumud's mother Gun,Aunt Dugba,sister Kkusum,cousin sister Kumari did not know how to react in that shock.
Saras' eyes fell on Kumud's nuptial chain and vermillion on her forehead.He was shattered as his Kumud has become somebody else's.He has lost the only person who loved him sincerely because of his own mistake.

His mind and body became very weak.His hands shivered along with his whole panting body.
The nuptial chain fell down from his hand.
Kumud's eyes fell on the nuptial chain which was lying on the floor. Her heart pained even more:That means Saras came back to marry me?
Saras looked at her painfully.

Kumud was helpless.
Kumud burst into tears.
K:Now it's too late Saras.I have already become somebody else's wife.If you had come a moment earlier…a single moment changed our life. She cried bitterly.Saras' tears rolled down her cheeks.

Gun, Dugba, Kkusum and Kumari held Kumud shedding tears.
Kumud hugged them and cried.
Kumud said in her mind:I destroyed myself by not believing Saras.Saras...Will you forgive me?
Saras said in his mind:It's not your fault Kumud.It's only mine.
Saras said in his mind:It's not your fault Kumud.It's only mine.
Dugbha said in her mind:How could I misunderstand my Saraswathi's son Saras again?
Vidhyachathur cursed himself:If I had listened to Dugba and not conducted Kumud's wedding in a hurry she would have been able to live happily with Saras.It's my fault for not believing Saras.
Saras:Don't blame yourself kaaka.It's my fault.Only my fault.When I came to know that my mother committed suicide only because my father cheated on her by having an affair with my step mother whom I respected a lot I became blind.
All were shocked to hear Saras' revelation about Saraswathi's suicide's reason.
Saras:A moment of anger with my father and step mother made me weak.I lost my confidence to make Kumud happy.So I refused to marry her.But I realized that I can't live without Kumud.So I came here.But I was late.It's my fault.only mine.
Dughba:Saras…
Saras:I am going.
Kumud's heart pained again.
Vidhya:Saras…you…
Saras:It's time for me to leave Kumud forever.
Saras keft.
Kumud cried forgetting the surrounding.
Saras walked falling into despair.
