Hi, this is a two topic post, hence the title. Firstly, Kumud's wardrobe and hair...what the heck is going on? I know that she is married now so her style has to change but please don't turn it into a typical bahu serial wardrobe where she wears a sari all the time with full make-up even when she's sleeping lol!
I know she is more traditional so her clothing will be more conservative so no western dresses etc. but hopefully they can show her wearing suits and other indian style clothing without draping her in a sari all the time, a little variety to show some different sides, maybe some of her ratanigri (not sure the spelling sorry) roots.
Now we come to the hair, what is with the bun? It makes her look much too old and actually doesn't look good on her. I know she can't wear it in a braid like before marriage but I loved the way her hair framed her face, her bangs; Maybe even tie it into the serial that when her hair gets in her face, she has a flashback of Saras gently taking it away from her face. I am sure the hair stylists can come up with something that allows us to see her long hair but done in a tasteful way in keeping with her traditions but not like old school style. I find her makeup better since the last month or so and Jennifer is a beautiful lady so hopefully they can get it all together in a complete package.
Saras's character has always dressed fairly well so that's fine but I am finding the longer hair on him makes him look a little rougher which is good, not so baby-faced.
Now onto the acting. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised and impressed with the acting talents of both main leads, especially seeing the progress from the beginning of the series. Jennifer was always a strong actress and lately has even taken it to another level with the pain of the break-up etc. The chemistry between Samud could also be seen growing and getting more intense and that was a result of both actors getting more comfortable with the characters and acting better hence resulting in a great on-screen chemistry.
It is Gautum who I am most impressed by. Its a night and day difference since his acting from the beginning which was a little wooden, a little unsure but now, especially the last few weeks and the last episode, the pain, anguish, hurt shown by him, his eyes, his expressions have been amazing. He has grown more confident with the character and is now realizing his full potential. We have seen sides of him, happy, serious, a little comedic but this drama lately has brought out the best in him. He is starting to get that brooding intensity in his eyes that people like, the naivete of youth seems to be passing from him turning more into a man.
There has been a vacant throne in TV serials (since a certain male lead and his show were done about 7 months ago which I am not allowed to mention here) and I can see Gautum filling that void as the heir apparent.

Agree with you on kumuds make up whilst even sleeping. I know this is drama where there's no room for practicality but still common. Where as Saras hair is concern I think it's to do with his poor situation of him being a lover who found his kumud has married to someone else x

I completely agree with the acting part.
As I am a new watcher, in the first episodes I found Jennifer very good and Gautam very handsome but felt that he could do better. However as the show progressed, I found them both getting more into character. Gautam Rode has done a great job. I now find his eyes more expressive and he's brilliant. Jenny too.

I am glad that we all are seeing the acting is great now and the series is finally hitting its stride. That's why when the audience starts criticizing the leads and new serials too early, I wish they would realize like any job, it takes time to get comfortable, time to gel as a team, develop your skills and then as you become more confident, you do better, actors are the same.
I have a feeling that the awards shows coming up for TV this yr and next will see the SC cast getting more recognition. If Yatin had stayed as Vidyachatur he should easily be considered best father or supporting character, he was the key for SC in not just being completely focused on the leads but the family as well. You need a strong supporting cast and its unfortunate he left, that's a void not currently filled. I wonder once his other acting stint is over if he would be willing to return or would the producers extend him the offer. His versatility from laughter, to drama, to heartache was excellent.

Yes, I would have liked Kumud to dress more elegantly rather than like any typical serial bahu. Alak's style is much more elegant here.

Agree with you 100%, Gautam Rode is the best actor on the samll screen at the moment. I have not seen his previous serials except for one episode of Teri Meri Kahani, and that also after watching Saraswatichandra, I got curious. He is like wine I believe, has matured with age and got better.

Totally agree with you in Wardrobe part...Jenny looks awesome in her previous dress/make up and her hair.

Regarding the acting part...Gautam sticked to his character from the start...the angry, deseparate, longing for motherly love, his character is lovable and he did justice to his character.
As Jenny said in an interview, she is very comfortable in emotional scenes...

I admired the performance of Gautam in particular in last week episodes...First shock, then feeling sorry, regretting asking forgiveness, realizing his mistake is too big to forgive and dejection, trying to gauge her reaction, finally accepting that kumud is not for him.

Brilliant act by GR..
