@Arshi- your song selections are impeccable! :) agree with your ratings and thanks for providing a platform to discuss the show..

The scenes where VC and Guniyal talk to Kumud, made me so sad... every parent dreams of marrying off their daughter to the best of family.. its such a big responsibility! like they say ''kanyadaan se bada koi daan nahi '' I absolutely love portrayal of VC by this new actor.. the composure ''thehrav'' he has in his personality is what I like the most.. his affection for Kumud looks no less than that portrayed by Yatin.. but he has added a lot of dignity and gravity to the character.. no histrionics but very convincing in his role.. Yesterday when he was asserting Guniyal that their daughter will be loved and respected in her new family, I was feeling really sad for both of them... Today the whole baraat welcome scene was such a contrast of emotions.. On one hand, Desai's looking tensed, apprehensive and somewhat intimidated.. Just imagine their condition.. ladki wale and on top of that already indebted by the favor done to their family..of accepting their rejected daughter.. terrible! the whole pomp and show by the politician family, dancing to glaring music, gun shots and all , kinda reflected their life style.. ''paise aur taqat ka guroor'' Guniyal doing the arti of her son in law was another moment that struck a chord.. how she must have wished it was Saras in his place.. Dukhba, the sisters everyone gave the right expressions in that scene..every one had dreamt of this day, only with some one else as the groom..

Pramad did notice that Kumud wasn't looking at him when the pandit asks bride and groom to look at each other.. His eyes from behind the sehra was very steady and fixed on her.. whereas she had no wish to look at him... lot of drama can be expected in coming weeks.. absolutely loving the show now..

Saras is excited and eager but he is nervous.. constantly assuring himself that she will wait for him, is a sign that perhaps he can sense he doesn't have much time.. fireworks, people dressed up walking to some party venue.. nice drama cv's- good job! Finally , he hears it - there is wedding at VC's house.. can't wait for tomorrow..

Kumud choosing to keep the white odhni as a remembrance of his betrayal , is SLB's idea..his adaptation..? makes more sense than keeping a rejection letter.. SLB scored over GMT there..!! lol plus it gives me a reason to hope :)

Emotionally hollowed out after sitting thru today's epi. It is one thing to watch a tragedy film, quite another to come back to it everyday in a week with the torture building up in increments. Resolved that I won't dare flirt with a desi tv show again.

Coming to the episode... The wedding seemed more a wake. And the fact was clear on her family's face. The baraat procession had something indecent about it. Can't put my finger on what exactly. There was almost a smugness from the ladke-wale's side like Kumud was some trophy they'd finally achieved. Maybe she is... Did not like the gunshots etc at all. Less respected politician... More gunda types. If this was a contrast they wanted to show regarding Kumud's dreams and destiny well they achieved it real well.

And Kumud... She may be a corpse bride, but not sans the ego and family pride. Her family... Shaadi abhi hui bhi nahi and they are already regretting it. Maybe they will channel that regret into anger and rage when Saras turns up and they proceed to break his back. Literally.

Saras was so full of tender, wavering hope. My heart broke for him. Gautam enacted that so well. Jennifer continues to out-do herself. Don't want to watch a Devdas scene. This will be a million times worse. SLB, you sadist, you. And more masochist us, for continuing to put up with this! Because we really have the choice to change channels but we won't... A testament to the stellar work Team SC has been putting out lately.

Can't wait to see so many scenes - Saras Dugba, Saras Guniyal - this one will be the hardest for him - he called her ma and personally promised her that he will be there for Kumud, Saras VC , want each one of them to give him a thorough lashing,
Y
What I don't have the heart to see is Saras Kumud confrontation- woh nahi dekha jayega!

Arshi, heart wrenching episode! again great acting by both the leads, today jennifer was outstanding! loved her performance! Gautam did not have that much screen space since the whole episode was focused on kumud's wedding, but whatever scenes he had he was great! now where will the story go, it will be interesting to watch..i don't want this show to go off air that soon, i hope more people start liking it and trps go up..and hopefully the original plot is followed..one more thing to add today kusum looked so beautiful, i could not take my eyes off of her!

Abhi to story shuru hui hai, the show has a good standing and niche audience, I don't think it's in the TRP race Mandy.

High international viewership and online viewership also are considerations, look at ipk - it never had very high TRPs but due to above, it flourished, inspite of constant rumors of it ending, so lets hope for the best

Jen yesterday played the bejan gudiya to the hilt, lifeless, did all the right things, smiled talked walked, but dead in her heart!

Both Kumari and kusum looked so pretty, Kumari Danny track to bhi cut kar diya, and we are so lost in Saras Kumud that we also are not thinking of anyone else now!

Thanks Vaishali, and loved once again your diving deep into the emotions, and highlighting the contrast between the two - and the muscle power flaunted by the grooms family, the gunmen in the background were a chilling reminder of what could be if Saras so much as tries to break things up now!

And pramaad, cvs have down a good job of keeping that a mystery, and i am staying away from spoilers.

Yes Arshi, completely crazy all of us are! Team SLB done some jaadu on us... Take a bow, all of you guys!

re how they will be together, I did some sleuthing. Am really Too Old for Twitter but I rummaged around a bit last night and found a GR tweet to a fan of his. She says her mum is terribly upset that S&K not getting married. He tells her that in the new track, the two lovers will be separated physically but together in their---thoughts and prayers---!!

**That's the first thing abt SC that made me laugh out loud in a long time**

GR then says Trust me you'll love it, or something like that. * By this point I was laughing hysterically- so I dont remember exact words.*

Now you know what to look forward to!😆

Jyotish was validated- though only partly; his date held but marriage was not that of Ram- Sita, Shiv- Parvati...horridly, it turned Ravan- Sita!🤢
Friends, a question? Should one continue? Even in name of 'journey'? The event and phase, I never held 'hinderance'- on the contrary- a highlighted contrast only, is causing much agitation, then why should one resign oneself to a terrible end, which now looks inevitable at writer's and consequently maker's behest?🤢

Heya all! I'm back! 🤗

First of all... yet another great post by Arshi! I've missed your synthesis terribly in the past week and a half. I'm glad I've seen it now... your Crisp Bytes always seem to console me.

And what a day to be back on, eh guys? Indeed, today is a day where we all feel like mourning. I feel like today's episode's theme was indeed death, and there were many symbols to support this notion in today's performance!
First of all, it was, to the simplest degree, the aantim sanskaar of our Saras/Kumud's relationship (for the time being, says optimism) when Kumud used Saras' first matka to complete the funeral of the physical remains of their relationship... But dear, silly Kumud, you can burn all of the physical remains of your relationship. What about the effect of Saras upon your spiritual self? How will you ever take those memoires out of you and spit them into a fire?
Speaking of spiritual self, the blatant lifelessness in the Kumud dressed as a bride today was especially heartbreaking... Indeed she has died along with her relationship to Saras.
And to furthermore support this theme of death today comes the white oodni, which Kumud puts in her luggage. It oddly not only foreshadows the colourlessness in Kumud's life yet to come, but also symbolizes the mood of mourning not only in the Desai parivaar, but also in Kumud's deeper self, which she is stifling for the sake of her ego.

A side note to Happychappy ---- our tissue box days have arrived alas! We're really going to need that support group... I'm tempted to make one. 😆

A few questions I have (besides the rant on Leena's equally amazing post!):
  • Where has this "waqt aahne par maangloongi" track from the glorious Matka-Nain-Mataaka days gone? For some reason, I was especially wondering when this special waqt for a maang will come?
  • PMS... Will this lead to trouble in Kumud's new married life?
  • The characters of Pramad's parents seem very standoffish, fickle, and all together static to me. Add in the fact that they're politicians, and suddenly my blood pressure rises. Does this mean that the story will follow the volumes, meaning Pramad is synonymous to the word jerk? Or does it mean that the CVs are leaving us to be surprised (and he ends up being remarkably similar to the kind and heroic Vanraj of HDDCS?)

@Veera, that was the matka she broke when she performed last rites for their pyaar... Never have so many hearts been broken along with an object in a piece of fiction. I really felt like she ws breaking my heart when she broke that!

More than all the other things she destroyed, that matka was a symbol of her love for Saras who is flawed but still adorable ..😭

Edit-
Veera, the CB thread is a de-facto support group for now, with Arshi as hand holder-in-chief...😆
