smirth veera like ur discussion...gandhava vivaah mataphysical vivaah but no pravtical vivaah...well hope this is changed ...co this is a daily soap made for commons and not a novel being written for scholars...so slb needs to make it practical...and get them married

but then if slb is planning 3000 episodes...then he will sure let original novel happen...and continue with his own version after novel ends...like kusum dies and kumud had to turn up as savior again for saras

or bloody guman connives and somehow get saras kusum divorced bringing in kumud as home breaker ...coz she never wants bahu in house and saras will never forget Kumud and so again saras has to take solace in Kumud

Friends ...

Thank you soo much for such brrilliant discussions ... This thread is providing so much solace and comfort in these times of much heartbreak and distress.

Kudos to the entire team for so effectively turning the wedding into a Mourning ...

Jenny playing the Kumud turned into Stone ... Perfecttt ...

Gautam portraying Saras with soo much Tenderness in his heart ... Heartbreaking ...

really do not know how am i going to watch today's episode ... shall cry bucketloads of tears , i am sure . 😭
Really all of us have been turned into some kind of maschoistic freaks that we are willing to take so much pain ... it seems that we have been kind of hypnotised ... we know that we are seeing the burning light of the Fire of Pain and Heartbreak ... but still we continue to stare at it unblinkingly ... can not turn our gaze away ... the show and the Creatives hold us in that kind of hypnotic thrall ...

Loved reading everybody's views... everyone has made beautiful points ...

@ Arshii...... the lines for both of them ... so beautiful ... really admire your storehouse knowledge of songs and poems ... are the line s for Kumud your own or from some source ??

special thanks to Hgg... for the lovely literary references and the philosophical underpinings ...

and @ Smrth ... so we have something beautiful and joyous to look forward to ... the encounter at Sundergiri mountains ... but is that not very late in the book ... do they not meet at all before that ??

analogy to man proposes, God disposes...we have SLB proposes, Channel disposes OR Channel proposes, SLB disposes...

with all the buzz about Sc under the scanner...AND if the buzz is true...then methinks SLB & gang have taken a call to go back to the original story-line..

the channel cannot just dump SLB overnight...
However, forget about 2000 epis...if this show is under the scanner and has to be wound up ...then at least it has to be wound up correctly...

...in which case I guess SLB is thinking ..why should I then pander to TRPs?... have tried trp pandering which did not work...so let me tell the story the way I want to...somewhere along the line if the TRPs pick up then we shall see...

I have noticed a hard turn back to the original storyline...
- no mention of PMS, love shove..just agony now..
- all trp related characters & tracks possibly on back burner...DB ex-hubby / umesh / kumari / danny out...
- more focus on kusum...kumari back to the younger sis..
- new characters as per the storyline back...pramad & his family... and properly adapted...the new female lead (parmad's sis) was there in the story too...she was kumud's only friend & confidant in pramad's household..right?
- the arthi scene as correctly pointed out by Idiotviewer in the last CB thread did not hint at an end...but had a sense of Finality to it...the symbolism was just too strong...just like in the novel where kumud burns all of saras letters...if at all SLB wants to get samud together he better have a very good context / super scene to nullify that scene...

... I can also sense some sort of relief in the overall effect...as if the directors / cast / leads now know where they are going to end up...and that is reflecting in the sureity of direction, writing, pace, acting etc...

so I am more or less resigned to the fact that the most likely scenario is the show will follow the novel to a T...

...which then brings me to smrths million dollar question...should we continue seeing this?

no right or wrong answers on this one...its like when we see a train - wreck / accident happen before our eyes...and there are bodies & injured lying ...the area is cordoned off by the police / doctirs and we can't really help ...one of our first instinct if we can't do anything about it is that of a voyeur...we want to be around to see who survived and how...

unfortunately...that's what I feel now...intense curiosity ...and if I resign myself to the end happening like in the story...then want to see exactly how this turned out in the end...the path taken...how did they survive?...what happened to their love / promises?...to their families/...how did everyone adjust?..

..and how did everyone mature?...this is what I want to see most...both samud have behaved pretty immaturely...which is in line with their character...when you are that young you think you are immortal and the world will be at your feet forever...then life comes up behind you and hits you on the head with a sledgehammer when you are not looking...how do you recover then?

..from duniya ko badal daloonga types...most of us end up feeling extremely satisfied if ghar ke deewar ke paint badal diye every 4-5 years...😎

At the moment you don't think much of it you know'..we just don't recognize the most significant moment of our lives'. Back then I thought "there'll be other days''". I didn't realize that was the only day. - From the movie 'Field of Dreams'

...so yes...expecting the same story as the novel...but now keen to see their evolution amidst all the agony...

If the agony is too much...will probably stop... BTW these are famous last words of mine...said these at least 3 times and still continue to see this addictive show..

To retain my mood and sanity...I have stopped downloading epis from the time the fight started...don't want that toxin on my laptop hard drive even!...but still have the earlier epis to go through on a stand-alone basis..keeps me in my happy bubble for sometime...

again an excellent post! why do u always speak my mind😊..i second u on that, i am relieved that slb is strictly following the original script without worrying about the trps! and u r rt when the show is under scanner then there r chances that it might wind up in few months..therefore keeping the fear of trps aside the cvz r focusing on quality of the content, which is why we had very well connected and well enacted episodes this week! i also like u will continue watching the show without worrying about the ending!

Shana... I like your forward-thinking, and flexible mindset. So many of us are stuck upon getting them married in the end, or not getting them married in the end that we're forgetting just how different the books and the show are, despite the major twists and turns! Indeed, it is a possibility that SLB will show up a different take all together... however, you are right in terms of making it practical over philosophical... Indeed, I see limited philosophy in the show, and more significance upon literary devices, themes, and motifs, such as the motis, the sun, and Radha symbolizing Kumud, lotuses, the moon, and Lord Krishna symbolizing Saras, light vs. darkness symbolizing their mental and emotional states, mourning and death symbolizing Saras and Kumud's relationship right now... So, although there is, with my inferior knowledge, limited philosophical discussion.. the main plot and literary devices have more up front significance right now... and because of this, I am hoping that SLB decides to change the story up a bit, and after the Gandharva Vivah and metaphysical union, they have a physical, traditional one. 😳

Yes of course. Immediately at Kumud's in- laws. He is going to rescue Alak Kishori ( Pramad's sister) and ends up injured in her new home...they lodge him unaware. Kumud not speaking anything. SC is assuming new name: Navinchandra...as per book...don't know how they are managing here.

smrth ...

Thanks for the instant response . 😊

So they shall meet very soon ... that was my thought too ... ( also explains Utkarsh Naithani's tweet )

and he rescued the Sister-in-law ... Great ... although my guess is that here they may reverse the scenario ... it may be Alak Kishori who may find a badly beaten up and injured Saras lying by the roadside and take him to their home ... let us see how it works out . 😊

but this change of name to Navinchndra ... this is news ... will they follow it ??

Btw ... we love the name Saras ... it is soo beautiful . 😊

The lines for Kumud are my own, I scribble something of my own when I can't think of anything of my own .

What rich discussions you have been having, while I have been away at work slogging!

As for tweeting CB link to sc cvs, an exciting idea, but I am inclined to agree with Toni (B.N.K.) , they would have bigger considerations for SC, and have their priorities dictated by bigger fish, CB may not be significant to them in the larger scheme of things.
