Does all this mean that Saras is going to eventually find his bearings after leaving LN's house

and Dubai in misery now and then later turn up as an aide to Pramad's dad (Buddhidhan?) the hotshot politician??

Knowing that Kumud is there as bahu of the house??

Doesnt the whole world know that he ws Kumud's fiance who didnt show up?

In this age, wont that be difficult to pull off?

Questions, questions??

Well said. I am now conviced that Pramad will be a wayward son for whom they want a virtuous wife like Kumud.

But I hope she doesnt get married to Pramad on the same mandap...That would be soo filmy...And a future wedding date raises the hope that SaMud could communicate, in person or on phone, prior to the wedding so that at least their trust and confidence in each other is restored.

Love reading your crisp bytes.

The characterization has deviated a lot from the novel with many other shades being added to the leads. But, core has been kept intact. The novel was a product or mirror of the times. And the movie too could not go beyond the times and stuck to the novel.

At the end, there was a debate about Kumud's remarriage. Atleast there was a debate.

There is Dugbaa the Desai Ghar ki beti, whose fate is going to be replicated on Kumud(cancellation of wedding and an unhappy marriage). I strongly feel Dugbaa was introduced to show(dont know if she was in the novel but she was not in the movie which closely followed the novel) the difference/turnaround in the fate of Kumud. There can't be another daughter in the same family who should suffer the same exact set of miseries for no fault of hers.

Although the turnaround might be after the hardships and struggles. Otherwise it will be a missed opportunity.

Thanks a lot for giving us the context of the " renunciation " by Saras from the original ... so there are differrences in the two scenarios and the mindset of Saras as you have pointed out ... the anger ... the Hurt ... the Pain ... is an innovation ... a change from the book.

Can we dare to Hope... and take this as some indicators of a slightly differrent version ... or an " adaptation " as they call it ...

It has barely been two days and am already missing SAMUD in the same frame ... and it shall be really difficult to watch the show without them being together.

Terribly missing that Hauntingly Beautiful BG Theme song and music ... are we not going to hear that ever again ?? That shall be a huge loss really...

wonder what the CVs have in store for us ??

Thanks for exerting.

And see, anger was never SC trait in original. He was way too pedantic and refined for spasmodic bouts of such perturbation. Only anger, he ever truly felt was toward himself- after seeing Kumud's plight in her new marriage. But hurt, he did feel...especially, father's charges on financial handling were baseless.

As for SAMUD, even then, I was mildly surprised to see some complaints about 'overdone' and cliched love phase. Then too, had pointed this, their melding needs to be on strongest footing before saperation.. And 'night' phase might be so long, these memories will be minuscule and distant watch in comparison...

A very well paced story now, only wish is that they'd maintain this.

kal aaj aur kal, Kusum has become mouthpiece for that "Kaal", destiny, now. @CV's We don't need her unpleasant prophecy, we all know what lies ahead.

I bow to Smrth's exact interpretation of Payal earlier.

@GR, Itne bhi acche actor mat bano, Gautam is highly intense, dreading Saras's reaction at Kumud's marriage to someone else.

Dugba is an interesting angle now, do not know how her role is gping to be shaped in getting Saras to Kumud again. Danny and Kumari will have a role in this as well.

My speculation,

@happychappy, Buddhidhan a big politician, SC is not going to reveal himself as his father's son, might somehow end up in army of people around him, and end up being his trusted aide. The crux is the revealation, as Kumud's ex and fidelity issue, which makes Pramad to ultimately transfer blame on Kumud to hide his own shortfalls.

SC is well known businessman, but exactly if we meet any such of them down the road, how many of them, we end up recognizing. None perhaps.

Currently I'm thinking, how entire VC family and Kumud herself take that impulsive instantaneous decision for a marriage to Pramad.

The way they were showed disappointed, I think they were already looking for a 'corrective' influence for their errant Son and seemed to have sent a proposal to VC before, learning her 'virtues' from intermediate sources. They are slipping in the marriage inexorably.

I always really look forward to ur post! I have read all ur posts nd comments! nd learned that u have read the book! can u just tell me if its true that kumud makes saras marry kusum because that he will always be closer to her! how does that make sense! anyway ur posts are incredibly amazing! What ur basically saying is the concept of reuniciation! If I'm not wrong! Can't there be two sides to what ur saying! One can be Emotions that play with ur mind! Nd I think that is what's happening with Saras! Because he's almost back to square one of his previous lifestyle! Also I think it's up to kumud of what to think out if situation of her marrying someone else! I think she needs to confide to Saras to let him know that no matter what she's with him, marriage or no marriage, does not matter nd will not affect their relationship or love! She also needs to him that she believes in him even without his fathers name! He doesn't need his fathers name to be someone because he is already someone someone with lots of respect dignity nd love in her eyes! I really missed their song today! God knows for how long we won't see them in the same frame however I'm excited for this track nd want to see how they portray it!

Guman's fake act all these years.. he knows his father has always been manipulated by her.. the pre-ponding of the merger date and the reason for it.. he knows it all... ''apne sirf mere hi nahi mere aur Kumud ke rishte ko bhi neecha dikhaya '' Atta boy Saras !!!!! he again mentions Kumud.. This was a much needed scene..Guman let go her pretence and openly challenged him.. I hope this will motivate him to fight his demons and come out strong..for himself and for Kumud. Both Gautam and Monica dressed in black, with thunder rolling in the background, made the scene dramatically impactful..

Kudos to SLB again for superb choice of actor for the role of Buddhidhan, Pramad's father.. Great personality and intimidating screen presence... Kinda gives an idea how Pramad will be.. So it looks like they had sent a proposal to VC for Kumud's marriage to their son in the past, which VC had rejected.. On what grounds, we will know later.. Great expressions that actor had.. Conveyed everything in less than 5 minutes, with his stern glances and razor sharp words..

Just wanted to add something.. with the new article about story going to resemble Hum dil de chuke sanam, everyone's been speculating.. I was thinking what if it actually turns out like the movie, only difference being that Saras will play Vanraj who tried to help Nandini, in this case Kumud? whatever be the case, I am glad they will keep it close to the original..

A worth waiting for post from you Vaishali. Yes, the flow of scenes has been great , not just last night but for the last 3 episodes. A lot of synergy, control and tight execution has been visible this week.

All the pieces had been laid in place and so a lot of closures happened , story took a sharp turn and the emotional drama handled with perfection.

Oh there was so much I loved about the Saras Guman scene - as you pointed out, the blackness of the whole scene - in their clothes, in the night - Guman still playing the mom card, a game she has become a pro at.

And Saras - still the right amount of control - but letting her know in no uncertain terms - it was his moms Payal and never her feet that he touched!

Letting her know that he never really was taken in by her, it was his moms sanskars that made him give her respect

Again just the right amount of theatrics to the scene.

Vaishali all actors great, writing good, camera work excellent, the meditation scene, the upward shot of Saras close to the edge, all superb

But I think the man who deserves all the appreciation is the director, he has the reins firmly in his hands and its showing!
