Samarth, how do you do it..are you by any chance assisting SLB 😉 I can see your dots falling in place maybe not in the same order. After deviating too much from the original and with a PMS on hand, I am not sure about this sudden try to comeback to the novel track. LN's new found complete faith and love for Saras would look absolutely fake if he goes against Saras for this merger deal and that too because of Guman. If I start off with inconsistencies I could go on.

Twilla, in my earlier reply, I referred Serial as 'original' in context of impressions on them...the episodes. For the reflection posts, those episodes stand source luminaries. Reflection can never grasp fraction of those episodes...let's not even compare. Embarrassed really.

CB is a wonderful meeting point, we get so many varying perceptions. Comparing notes in such interesting backdrop. Do come in friend.

The magical lead chemistry hooked me. Came across the forum, crispy bytes thread analysis by the gang humbled me. Laughed off "logic ki waat'. The perspectives which I lack was there written up in those threads. Made me watch the few episodes again with bewildered eyes.

The significance of tinlking payal and kamarbandh explained by you was awesome. I could connect to Saras all through, but Kumud!why is she egoistic? It is anybody's preorgative to say no to a proposal, answer was well explained by you in the thread.

Although I haven't read the spoilers, I can sense they are following the original novel for a premise for separation. Adaptation also means gives them the liberty not to be regressive on the part of Kumud. As long as they are not overtly melodramatic it would be watchable for me.

Fall in the standards, expected if they give importance to quantity rather than quality. I hope actors do stop talking about their personal lives and stop being opinionated with references to their current work.

Like all expatriates, there is a personal need for me to feel connected to values I grew up with.
Crying women, conspiring women..against my ethos. (the latest blow was adaptation of the show 'come dine me' - 'mehmaan nawazi', are the guests treated like this in my country? )

I do believe writers are much smarter than I am. Much of the population is watching the saas bahu Telly for a lack of better option. If writers could bring out quality in the initial months, they are capable of similar things further on. I do not want to turn away from Indian Telly disappointed once again.

Please Smrthji, do come out more often with insightful posts. As statistics say, only< 10% of the people contribute to discussion in any forum. There is a large percentage out there who enjoy your writing.

Actually Adiani, in turn, you proved an amazing input time and again. Many times, I found them showing the things from a new angle and perspective. This is the advantage of forum...also, it provides a sustain pad, I feel...wud like to ask about expatriate experience more detailed...will come back later...thanks again.😊

And yes Kadal, order may not be same. It's interesting to guess and compare with actual unfolding. Sometimes clicking sometimes completely different...incitement of this post...

And yes, it would appear so inconsistent. Trouble with their scripting is too much haste when they require elaboration, and too stretched where its absolutely unnecessary. Here they should have showed at least two three weeks of built up on fissures in Father- Son relations, pinned on diverging views and Gumaan's exploits. There should have been much more convincing build up, as in novel. But no, they had to have flat 15 days marriage!! And done with the break up. Why, why? Why can't they put some greater intervening time, providing breather space for built up? Have they been too influenced by required interim separation of the leads? Then suffer this botched up inconsistency on required 'build up' script.

Big cross.. he's married and that is no longer a secret..and as per the novel Kumud will be married in a very affluent family..I think we still have a long way to reach that point , hence no talks about the actor yet..

Thanks Vaishali, for these insightful pointers- as is your mark. They help identifying more dots or arranging them in a more refined pattern...query of this topic.😊

1.) Yes, LN is unlikely to disinherit the son. In book too, he turns almost mad with the grief after son's disappearance and actually writes most of the estate to SC. In fact, this will boomerang as biggest 'blunder' to Gumaan, ending up in her losing most, until Saras returns and corrects the course!

2.) As for his stance over Kumud, actually there is an added 'difficulty'; his regard, indebtedness to RN family and VC in particular. Like I pointed out in my reply to Kadaal above, CVs are much unconvincing in 'build up' part. They ought to have gone more moderately. Script is suffering badly. But there exists a flimsy excuse on their hand; Kumud's momentary squall and his visible dislike that time. Again, it stands 'flimsy'. For their subsequent bonding, you correctly pointed.😕

4.) As for reaction of Saras. Is he returning to his old 'shell'- dot 4 second part- and also 'superstition'? That would be undoing of Kumud's work- Gunaan's stated goal. Now I am adding 'superstition' as a supplementary dot from the elapsed tale...😭

5.) Vaishali, much as we dislike it in VC. It's not incapable of him.😕 remember his earlier disproportionate shun to Mother and Daughter? Besides, he would have second 'jolt' from this friend. Also, original book clearly stated, VC panicked and married her 'silent' daughter (analogy, garib gau) off to a mismatch and later both parents regretted much. So this not an unlikely dot.

6.) Rest of your post concurs the same questions I have on 'missing dot'. Who is he? I am eagerly waiting the cast. Somehow it may hint his duration in the serial, I feel. And like Umesh, please no Danny either. That will be a total back on the book. Like that famous Skype scene on 'first' encounter!🤢

Yes Smrth I read it too n did u watch that segment where Gautam said - I have "tyaag" my family n all... But Jen cut in n said- dont tell !! N he stopped!!
Something huge shud happen to make the ghosts of the past resurface n put him in "forfeit" mood n back to his old ways that is shutting himself from everyone just he used to do earlier!!
But dear is it fair to this woman who has given herself body n soul to him? Watever the trauma, the pain ... SHE DESERVESTO KNOW!! I personally would still have a hard time digesting it!! Lets c how CVs go abt justifying it. I guess CVs have got 'the excuse' to start as from the book now that is making Saras leaving everything/everyone(?) behind
N Kumud marrying someone else I believe wud b from family pressure especially if A hurt n humiliated VC 'ordered' her!! N I would not blame her u know!!

Wow, wow wow, loved the dots and crosses and all the ensuing discussions.

So many fresh perspectives and possibilities that sound sane and realistic, so maybe all is not lost yet!

The sight of an irate Mr Lal and fuming LN had actually put me off, as I feared that the story was set on another illogical path, but this whole discussion has once again aroused my curiosity, and lets wait to see what the coming week unfolds, which dots connect and which are crossed out!

But I think Umesh will be a key player in keeping Saras away, his exposure to Kumari sure to have infuriated him even more

Umesh as pramad- unlikely as 1. Kumari and Danny already know he is married

2. Even if it were to happen, Kumud will not stay one day with him, once she finds out he is much married with 2 kids

Danny as Pramad -NOoo..., Pramad has to be someone we all hate with a vehemence, else Saras Kumud relationship will be difficult to sustain!

So if there's a Pramad please let him be a new guy, and someone horrid and rotten like the Pramad of the story and the movie.

Anyway, smrth, all character names are meaningful in this story, pramad - the word means someone who is negligent, also used for someone in state of nasha and prone to act without thinking of its consequences

In that sense this name can be applied to Umesh and Danny both, from the way Danny was described by Guman earlier, before he came on the scene

That its time for the big twist is evident, so lets wait and watch

Kya hoga Saras aur Kumud ka

Kya hoga unka Milan

Ya aayega koi naya mod

Ya shayad koi bhayankar toofan

Janane ke liye dekhte rahiye

This thread has thrown up a number of intriguing possibilities. For once, I am quite looking forward to finding out what happens, even if it's S&K separating ...

@Arshi, actually in the last scene when Mr Lal is shown storming out, LN does not look furious, there ws more of consternation on his face, I thought ... After all the care shown to repair their relationship, I dont expect LN to disinherit Saras, that wd be way too much melodrama. I think Saras will suffer from extreme guilt and may inflict punishment(what?...) on himself.

Also there has to be a good reason why Danny ws left behind in RN. Imagine if the shaadi ka mahurat has arrived and no Saras on the scene, what do you think might happen? Even if LN calls off the wedding wd he not inform the Desais in advance that the baraat is not showing up? Plus they showed Dannyboy first address K as bhabhiji and then deliberately switch to Kumud-ji. Wouldnt put it past the CV's to get them hitched, even if it sounds like an abomination! All the more heart-wrenching because he's not a scoundrel? But then, what about the eagerly awaited Danny-Kumari story?

So all in all, the cv's have brought us willy-nilly to a spot where any number of things could happen...😕It may not be the stuff of great literature, but I think they're doing pretty well as scriptwriters for a daily soap, keeping you guessing... Too bad for all of us if we dont like it, huh??

Considering the story so far, for the seperation there HAS to be mandatorily (i) an irreversible break between LN & VC (ii) major fight between saras & kumud ...sort of like a family fued which totally shuts the door for any rapproachment at least in the immediat term...

...otherwise all other scenarios between saras & kumud can be settled by LN & VC...
...and in these times baraat getting cancelled is not reason enough to marry off a daughter like instant coffee in the mandap itself..plus there is no way kumud will agree to this either...

one epi also had gumaan thinking she will use her final ace at the right time...

If LN - saras confrontation is illogical and there is a grief element only between LN - saras, what if there is another twist altogether?

In the novel the break was also attributed to property put in a trust in kumud's name by saras grandmother...which was attempted at replication in the show by the CVs through the silly mortgage and haveli money put in a company by LN...

I realised now that track was never really closed...papers / company are still with LN / Gumaan...

What if the letter saras will receive (as per spoilers) indicates that since the merger has not gone through, among the losses that need to be cut is Kumud's company too...ergo VC haveli is on the market and they are out on the street... blame fully on saras...then shocked kumud gives him a piece of her mind...saras back in his shell...can't face anyone...maybe leaves town to repent / correct the 'wrong'

also gumaan indicating that kumud's first steps were unlucky for LN...causing him to doubt his choice...

...that is the only event that I can see so far which has brought both LN's & VC's blood to boil...and this time there is no DB to interact with LN personally...this could really start the whole fire between the two families again...

..the CVs have a real methi ka ladoo on their hands now and are on the razor's edge... on one hand if they show clear seperation and remarriage immediately there will be howls of protest from the fans and shrinkage of viewership...on the other hand if they try to retain popular fan expectations then it degenerates into a mainstream show with possibly stable viewership...

.. I believe this predicament related to popularity & fan expectations was probably not anticipated when this started...

... so I am also betting that the CVs will play safe & take the easy way out especially at this stage...extend it in the interim into some sort of Ram - Sita story...so both are seperated & pining for each other...but no marriage to others...just a long seperation...with Danny as Laxman...and a Danny Kumari track?...

Also most important...you haven't placed the Kusum dot......that is one outlier & troublesome character which is not fitting anywhere in any of our theories...even if there is seperation, why will saras marry kusum now?...they cannot keep her on till the end of the story for saras to marry ...what will she do for so many episodes?..specially if the focus is going to shift to saras - kumud track more...

p.s.
If CVs want to go really mainstream then we will have a really regressive story-line (though a popular one I believe in high trp serials) ...kumud is preggers and Danny marries her 'in principle' to save honor while our hero is out there somewhere...Danny calling her kumudji and not bhabhi prevents an incestous connotation if this scenario were to develop...

.. pity that nowadays for this show every possibility is now on the table... kuch bhi ho sakta hai...

..Next week will show how the dice has rolled...

... I had stopped figuring out the way the story will move and was taking it one day at a time...then with all the post PMS / kc stuff stopped enjoying on a day to day basis...

...for me the show was on its notice period...the angst / mood spoiling when comparing what it was and to what it has been reduced to was too high..

..so this is a good thread to pique my interest for one more week...
