I don't know if it will make sense to you, but the functioning of joint families is little different from nuclear families.. In joint families, ''happy ones'' there is nothing like your daughter, my daughter.. Though I live in a nuclear family but I have seen my mother talk about how she has been more close to her aunts during her childhood days than her mother who being the eldest daughter in law in the house hold was always very burdened with duties..not that she didn't care about her children.. So I can easily relate to Dukhba claiming her right on Kumud and Guniyal and VC happily allowing it.

vaishali-
thx.
that is one heck of a story adaptation if true

smrth-
please revert if this is how it went..

at the risk of sounding repetitive... pasting one point I raised earlier today

6) My logic of taking it one day at a time is helping...one personal 'enlightenment'...
- without focussing on the baggage of a known story outcome...this feels really good going compared to other tv shows!...
- My MILLION $ QUESTION fo which I am scracthing my head since it ocurred to me today... there is so much adaptation done...are we as fans jumping the gun by continuous comparision to the original? ...
- I for one keep thinking the storm is going to hit next week..and seperation.
...what if this outcome itself has been adapted?... may not come for quite some time?...

...what if guman's attack is foiled?...saras announces...everyone is happy...then the whole premarital issue between the two (due to semi-official sanction after announcement)...then something else...build trps...
...then the seperation...
...SLB wants the show to continue for 2000 epis...abhi seperation de diya to we are already into the next act...

pataa nahin...Wishful thinking perhaps for my 1 happy week desire!😊

but CVs have continued to confound...and move the story in ways not expected...yet retain the balance...

still scratching my head on the last one...but good end to a good week in my opinion..

Yeah i checked that!! I guess an exciting week ahead. Bear with my imagination. My take is:
As showed in precap, without knowing it really, Gumaan will strike the hot iron n say- has he ever said he loves u? No? N he will not? It will upset Kumud more but Saras will surprise Gumaan n everybody else and propose and will stand for Kumud n her family because clearly Gumaan wont stay quiet n the dam of venom will break.

Hi Vaishali, thanks for brining this up, even my Mum told me the same about joint families and even I have experienced, my mom being the youngest, she brought up all the kids of her elder brothers and sisters, still she is very close to them, i used to get irritated when I was young, since she used to take thier sides and shower them with love and gifts but now I am fine with it. I can easily relate to dukhba showering more love to Kumudh than Kumari since My mom also does the same...😊. That doesnt mean she loves me less but I used to get J when I was kid... but after watching this Dukhba and Kumudh I have further cooled down😆

It would have been more consistent with Dugba's overall character and intelligence if she explained stuff to Kumari instead of shouting at her... But the CV's need that plot to progress with the aid of Kumari-in-the-dark, I guess.

They showed blind spots in Dugba's character earlier as well when she reacted to the taunting Guman over the phone from Dubai, instead of seeing Saras-in-pain in front of her in Ratnagiri...

I agree, I am glad they showed Guniyal confront Saras instead of Dukhba.. not because it made sense because of Dukhba's state of mind right now.. but because she has been shown as a mother who is very much in tune with her daughter's feelings.. recall the time she encouraged her to help Saras complete his prayaschit.. But I don't feel like differentiating between her and Dukhba as real and pseudo mothers.. :) Dukhba played her part really well in talking sense to both Saras and Kumud in the past..

Vaishali, much as I decide to avoid 'the original', it gets in somehow. Such is the power of parallelism!
So once more; showing more on her is a very important cog that preserves the link to the original. That day when Saras was telling VC, " won't you remember Kaka? How she is holding this entire family under one roof? Her toils, her diligence?' And many here won't even know what was being referred. I feel like sharing, despite her being a non glamorous, elder character. Why, in any good story, side characters, specially well etched, always contribute hugely towards formation of a sound platform which holds the overall experience memorable. It needs not be only about leads. The whole fabric ought have been woven well perhaps, isn't it?l
Coming to Guniyal, as one of the favourite character of older generation ( my mom likes her most), She is correctly held in high esteem, if going as per original. Here in frenzy of 'Dukh baa/ dugba' she is vastly blotted out and then, that 'purist' in me, still lurking, does make an uneasy shift, besides...coming to her, she is not even an empty extension, in her story, its actually Kumud, who is better understood- how she is formed. Where she is coming from. That day, when Kumud was patiently tackling Saras's insecurity, it was Guniyal who has taken over as her mentor. There was not a trace of insecure, high pitched Dukh baa then. When I found her soothing then, I was also reminded of Guniyal. Today, Cvs have revealed something more of her. And today, more then leads, i was observing her...the way she eased out her agitation and make her go into a secured sleep...I wished, both Saras and Kumud to be more forthcoming with her than they were showed...but there is lot more to tell on her too- through Kumud...of course, not to be expected here much though.

Agree. That 'one day at a time' is helpful. But then 'curiosity' bug, a natural incline, does nudge us to probe further; a) imaginatively when unsourced and b) inquisitively when based...
In such type of synthesis, ( the one you described in bolded line), as 'adaption', a) and b) combined...
but you are right less of b) is more enjoyable perhaps...though 'contexts' make it approachable sometimes, I suppose.

i think the whole family knows of their budding friendship /love... they see the glow on her face , they see a happy saras and heart of hearts hope that things have changed!!!!!

But it came in very surprisingly coz there was no zikhar of it anytime, anywhere... if dugbha had said what guniyal said, it would make sense... since she has been observing the two of them , encouraging them... etc...

sometimes the speed at which this serial moves leaves the little nuances behind... but i dont want to complain since i dont watch any other serials due to the lack of speed at which they proceed, where every expression, every scene is dragged to death!!!

loving it so far... but why was kumud sitting at the pond all by herself for - saras came thre for haldi !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so madame forever busy just like that lost her ring in the water???

I was actually fine that she said"meri naak kat gayi" after all she is the belle of rathnagiri and not having a actual proposal to her name made her feel left out... the old kumud pride showing its little nose here!!!

Kumari is quite astute and points out that she knows that Dugba has some other problem, even though she is taking it out on her

But I guess her love for Kumari, hatred for her husband and for Guman have blinded her
