Cant blame Samud, they are in love so they cant say no but Guniyal should be on top of the of the blame list ...for hiding such big news from her hubby. Very illogical CVs.

My vote too goes to Guniyal for the biggest guilty party here!

This whole series of incidents started with LNV. Out of concern that Saras would turn to sanyas, he fixed Saras' alliance with a friend's daughter without even asking his opinion. He just assumed that Saras would follow his orders like he always does. Saras tried explaining to him that he did not want to get married but LNV would not listen.

So Saras writes Kumud a letter rejecting the alliance. What did he expect she would do? SO he thinks she can tell her family he is not interested and that is the end of the story??!! Then he lands up in Ratnanagari when she challenges him to inform VC of his decision personally, gets caught up in the cat and mouse game of mooh-dikhayee, falls in love with Kumud, continues to think pessimistically he is jinxed and would not change his decision of not marrying her. My first reaction was wanting Saras to talk to VC today. But today was more between VC-Kumud and VC-Guniyal so Saras could not have done much today. I am curious to see what action Saras's takes next.

I repeat what I posted in your thread yesterday, why does Kumud have to be the one to inform VC? Guniyal, the mother who is aware of the situation should have spoken to VC about it even before Saras arrived. She did not even make an attempt and waited for Kumud to speak to her dad. Guniyal disappointed me more than the others. Then she did nothing to stop the ceremony today.

VC overreacting was more for TRPs and to move the track further. But he is a very emotional man. He trusts Kumud and Saras implicitly. He felt let down that they thought he would not be able to handle the rejection. He knows Kumud liked Saras and she was probably hurt by the rejection. He felt her pain and was upset at being denied the chance to be there for her, to support her as her dad. He felt down by his wife too, rightly so.

Some positive points in today's episode were that Saras found out Guman had planned this ceremony. Saras came to know Guman informed VC about his plans despite him specifically asking her not to say or do anything. I also hope he noticed her enjoying the tamasha. I am glad this was not dragged out.

I am also glad that they didn't show VC having a heart attack on hearing the news. That would have been so Kektaish.

Thankfully Dukhba was not OTT today. Her conversation with Saras made me wonder if Saras is aware that his dad jilted Dukhba at the mandap? If he did, all the more reason for him to have handled this whole matter more sensitively.

Annoying moment of the day was Saras telling her he did not want to marry her because he would give her taqleef! The taqleef is because you didn't want to marry her dude and the way you went about rejecting the alliance, your inability to fight your demons and start life afresh with this caring, loving girl whom you have fallen in love with!!!

I am curious to know how Saras just figured out today Guniyal knew about his letter. He questioned her but what did he see or hear suddenly that gave him the impression. What did I miss?

I am Priya, new to this forum and I love the show so far. Today's episode was high on drama and very emotional. Jen was so good in all her scenes where she was crying her eyes out and yet it did not look OTT. My heart was breaking for her when Kumud was pleading for forgiveness from her dad by holding her ears and falling at his feet. I think VC was right to feel let down by his daughter and his wife. He did not expect his from Kumud who was/is the apple of his eye and whom he loves dearly and takes pride in raising her with morals and values. More than hiding the truth, it must have been the fact that he felt that there must have been something wrong in his upbringing that made her go that extent of hiding things from him. But, we know that Kumud's intentions were genuine and she truly did not want her dad's dreams and hopes get shattered. She was sincere when she admitted she can't see him hurt or broken down once he gets to know the truth. She was basically trying to protect him and VC was in pain and angry over the entire situation that Guman had created. It probably rekindled the same feelings of hurt, pain and emotional distress that he went through years ago when his sister was stood up at the altar by LN when he chose to marry Guman and did not feel the need to inform VC prior to the whole ceremony.

I loved all the characters and they were all right in their own stand. I just cannot come to terms to blame anyone because I did not see anyone at fault except Guman who purposely ruined the peace and happiness in the haveli. I think Saras's angry looks already makes it clear that he did not like what Guman did and I am hoping that in future he keeps her out of the picture and does not confide anything in her.

I loved the fact that despite pained by the whole fiasco, Dukba was able to give a piece of her mind to Guman and let her know her limits. What is Kumari upto? Why was she at the police station? She looks like an innocent, naive girl but seems to be hiding something big? Where is Dukba's husband and Kumari's dad? I am assuming that she got married after LN dumped her??

The part that left me stunned was Saras running on the roads. I guess he was in so much emotional turmoil over what he had inadvertenly done to Kumud and her family that he was trying to run away from all of it and in turn run from himself. It was sad that what he has been thinking all along and out of what seems like his insecurity he had turned down the marriage proposal to Kumud simply because whomever he loves tends to end up getting nothing but hurt and pain. What he needs to understand is that not everytime it has to be the same with everyone he loves or has affections for. For a change, Kanaji might have different plans for him and it might be to ease his pain by bringing someone like Kumud in his life who is spirited, lovable, traditional and righteous. I think he will slowly realize that but it will probably be some time before he takes that leap of faith and trusts someone like Kumud with his life.

Loved your tracking the chain of events , brilliant, brilliant

Yes, you are so right

it all started with LNV - He assumed that his son will agree to the alliance

Saras - He assumed that Kumud will tell her parents

kumud - She assumed that saras will come and tell her dad

Guniyal - she assumed that it was not the right time to tell VC

VC - He assumed that just because his daughter was spending a lot of time with saras, she was happy

If any one of them had stopped being such ass -umers Guman wouldn't have been able to exploit

the whole situation

They created this for her, set it up, and she moved in for the kill

And in the end, if we hadn't assumed that this soap would not run into cliches, ...

Loved your tracking it down in sequence .

Loved your analysis Priya,

The way you have looked at from everyone's POV, was great

Here are my disappointments with the epi and the show:

1. the family sets up a shagun ceremony without even asking the prospective bride and groom once in a sit down heart to heart talk - too cliched - done to death in hundreds of shows

2. the dad who claims to have been her friend - never once in all these days - asked her about how she feels about this man she has to go off and spend her life with -

his friend sent the rishta, she made a token protest, but she never really was given a choice was she - the pressure of expectation from dad was too high - psuedo independence - she was always expected to toe the line here

3. guniyal - often later in the night husbands and wives talk about the day, all that's important, all that is bothering them, about their children - never happened here?- not convincing

4. Kumud - she really stumped me - why hide it from her dad? Just her ego? fear for his health? - not convincing

why on earth did none of these people in all these days have any heart to heart one to one with each other?

the simple fact that doesn't make sense to me - this was a truth that would caused some amount of heartburn whenever it did come out - what were Kumud and Guniyal waiting for ? what and when is there ever a right time to give bad news ?

I guess this whole sacrifice, keep secrets for the good of family thing - has been used all the time in every show to create misunderstandings and dramatic situations - that I wanted this show to be different.

Phew, rant over, I feel good now!!!

Thank you @arshicritic. Sorry to address you by your profile name since I don't know how to address you. My responses to your questions are in blue.

Here are my disappointments with the epi and the show:

1. the family sets up a shagun ceremony without even asking the prospective bride and groom once in a sit down heart to heart talk - too cliched - done to death in hundreds of shows.
I remember Kumud wanting to talk to Saras over the video chat and VC took all of them away and left her to have a private conversation with him. He is probably under the impression that they had talked it out during the video chat and there were several occasions where Kumud and Saras were alone. He must have assumed that they both probably had a heart to heart conversation while Kumud was hanging out with him and helping him out with the whole prayaschit thing for the Gau Hatya which BTW was clearly OTT cause since when people get arrested for killing an animal when there are more violent crimes and the criminals who commit those go scot free.

2. the dad who claims to have been her friend - never once in all these days - asked her about how she feels about this man she has to go off and spend her life with -
That is a very valid question and I feel that he probably assumed that she liked Saras considering the interest and delight she had while saving him from the eyes of the villagers and could not let him suffer alone when they had asked him to do the Prayaschit. She probably was being righteous and doing the right thing by not letting him take the blame for Yash but for her to go out of her way must have made VC think on the lines that she is indeed doing her duty as someone who is line to become a wife of a man who is wrongly accused. Nonetheless, he should have asked her.

his friend sent the rishta, she made a token protest, but she never really was given a choice was she - the pressure of expectation from dad was too high - psuedo independence - she was always expected to toe the line here - Yep, that is the price you pay for being an ideal daughter I guess. Now my fear is as per the novel, (which my aunt has read) just to make sure that rest of the girls get proposals in their future and shut the villagers mouth they might force her to marry someone who may not really be the right fit for her and she might agree to that proposal.

3. guniyal - often later in the night husbands and wives talk about the day, all that's important, all that is bothering them, about their children - never happened here?- not convincing
I agree. She has no excuse. She had plenty of time even the other day when she was giving him milk he explicitly asked her if she has something on her mind and she just denied. That was a golden opportunity she let it miss.

4. Kumud - she really stumped me - why hide it from her dad? Just her ego? fear for his health? - not convincing
I am thinking that she never thought that Saras would stand up to her challenge and would actually show up. He did and after seeing him she wanted him to be the bad guy who broke the alliance and admits that as well. She did not want to be the bad news bearer but now it backfired on her big time since VC does not care about Saras because he is not his son but he cares about her as she is his pride and feels completely let down by her.

why on earth did none of these people in all these days have any heart to heart one to one with each other? I think it's because of the Yash and his culprit act of killing the cow and letting the blame to be put on Saras and Yash's mom threatening to commit suicide and finally Saras getting arrested and Guman showing up unannounced and threatening to call LN. They all were probably flabbergasted by the horrific turn of events and before they could catch their breath Guman played her evil game again.
