The fact that he couldn't save his guest from the punishment ..he had to mortgage his haveli.. I dont think he has much say.. He is a local businessman not a priest/brahmin who are the more influential people in such societies.

True actually... but VC 'looks' rich... the haveli business oh God! Thats another bomb that will explode soon. 😛

You really take your user id seriously hun?! 😆 Kidding..dont take offence😊.. yup I agree logic goes for a toss a lot of times in Indian shows.. have seen worse in many others shows I watched in the past.. its not completely unbelievable for me because in India we witness worse scenarios..all the time.

I did choose the user Id for a reason 😊 and SLB is giving me plenty of opportunities to justify it 😆

I do love your positivity. And the thorough research you put in, the facts and info you come up with

Always a pleasure to read your posts and then disagree with you! 😉

The haveli is so well maintained - must be costing a bomb to maintain it, the beautiful exteriors, the sprawling lawns, the lotus wala pool. - it is not a run down ramshackle place, but he is supposed to be hard up, so once again - logic ki waat -

@arshicritic- Name one Indian show you watched where you havent seen logic ki vaat. Logic is always not very entertaining. Whenever its twisted, people sit up and take notice and discuss like we are doing right now LOL Just because its SLB productions doesnt mean they will make it different from what audiences are used to watching and expecting of an Indian daily show. We are used to watching the women of the house wear loud makeup and heavy jewellery to bed, vamps conspiring in the open without anyone taking notice for years before the plotting is out in the open, characters go missing in the middle of the show without any explanation, people come back from dead with plastic surgery.. Is that logical? No..But thats what we have been tuned to watching..There is always a choice that viewers have to switch to some other show they find more logical but unfortunately each show is more illogical than the other so we end up watching something with which we can connect at some level, ignoring the logics at places.. provided there aren't too many. For me SC, is one of them, hence I watch😊

Same here, Vaishali, same here, the show has some redeeming features, so I watch

But I seriously expected a more convincing storyline from SLB, the leads are good, but everything else sadly very repetitive

He has taken a classic, misinterpreted it and come up with a show that is turning to mediocrity

My disappointment is with lack of attention to detail , guess my own high expectations from SLB are to be blamed for this

Thats sad. Maybe thats why you are not able to enjoy the show. I will tell you a fact about Indian shows. Majority watch it for the lovestory and the leads chemistry. I bet if everyday we get Saras Kumud romance, no matter how illogical the situation is, people will like it. There will be tons of posts in the forum saying aaah beautiful episode. They will ignore logics then.. I would be one of them! No matter if it makes no sense for Kumud to go running back to the guy who she knows is not going to marry her, but as long as its a love scene, people will love it. I have seen that in shows where the entire storyline goes for a toss and everything relies on the leads and their chemistry.

I wouldn't say he misinterpreted a classic when I myself dont know the correct interpretation. Its beyond me to interpret that huge novel and the backdrop in which it was set. I can only say that if he had reproduced the novel as it is today, then people would have got bored to death. If people are watching this show for light hearted romance and comedy, then its not for them. Its simply not that genre of a show.

Lack of detailing..ermm..maybe..I dont find too many glitches to be honest.. This show has a long way to go and the main chapters are yet to unfold..what we are watching is a prologue.. so we have to give it time..else there is always an option to switch channels :)

Nice to read the info.
While the cow is revered in the Hindu religion and while gau hatya is considered as a serious sin that has serious religious implications... gau hatya is not a crime... as in, it isn't considered as a crime as per law. So technically, Saras can't be sentenced or imprisoned for this.

Very interesting topic vaishali. infact i really like your posts. they are really sensible and in depth.

His arrest is no logic ki vaat, but true. Below is details of one state in India. Penalties very from state to state, however in states run by BJP govt, the penalties for vehicular slaughter are far more stringent, and gujrat is also one of them. So it's not out of place to find Saras arrested.

"Quote:
The Delhi government has recently woken up to the problem of vehicular manslaughter. It raised the fine for homicidal driving to 2 months in jail and 2000 rupees, roughly three week's wages for the average driver. The previous fine was 200 rupees (six dollars). The fine for killing a cow with a vehicle remains the same; about 10,000 rupees and 1-year in jail.
