Mary i like your post. some straightforward views which can help the show popularity to raise. I know its not about their personal lives but about the show and its true that if they become more comfortable and communicate well during interviews, the audience will be more glued to their onscreen chemistry.
infact the chain of romance they make onscreen is broken by their SBS interviews.
Right now the romantic track is at its peak but after watching their interviews together i feel someting missing in the perfect couple , or atleast they can show expressions of enjoying the making of the show. but what i have noticed is that there is some kind of heavyness they feel in each others presence.
if they speak together about one topic that would show equal participation , but Jenny always stops if Gautam starts speaking and wait for her own space, which makes the interview very formal.
if u guys have noticed even bollywood stars when they come on Tv to promote their movies, act very jovial and friendly inspite of their diff in real life.
Its just a viewpoint not a war to regain our territory. Hopefully things will change with the show getting old.

i agree! I know this cannot be forced upon anyone, and they seem like friendly people, and are probably more friendly off-camera, but their interviews do seem awkward. As in they are quite shy in front of each other, and I see this from BOTH their sides!

why do actors need to be friends?is it because we want to see them that way?otherwise what difference does it make to their onscreen chemistry. as someone rightly pointed out that all the top jodis are not that friendly.in fact i ve read somewhere that when the most romantic scene of mughale azam( when he caresses her face with a feather), was being shot dilip kumar and madhbala were not even on talking terms.yet it has gone down in the history of hindi films as one of the most romantic scenes.so as long as it doesnt affect their onscreen chemistry(which is good), let us keep off their personal life and wishing for them to be friends.they are doing their job well and thats all that counts.btw, this was a nice and thought provoking topic.do actors need to be friends in order to stirke a chemistry? good thinking.

I agree with your point that it is the off-screen comfort which usually transforms into something magical on-screen. But to say that Jen is not friendly would be wrong, because I have been following her for quite some time now. She maybe reserved but to say that she is formal will be wrong. And I haven't been following SC offscreen much but from all that I have seen, she gets along with other people well!
And if you consider Jenny to be serious, no she isn't. Besides her husband, she's been friends with her other co-stars as well. Karan Wahi for example is an extremely good friend of her. The thing with Gautam-Jen is that neither are too bubbly and it takes someone to break the ice :P
But I assure you, they'll soon be more comfortable. It's just been a month, let us give them some more time :)

I have to disagree with you...
they can be complete strangers but still be able to bring out perfect chemistry if both of them are powerful actors!

and If you find there is something lacking in their chemistry that simply means something is lacking in their acting!

I have seen Gautam in teri meri love stories with a newcomer actress..n their chemistry was amazing even though they did not know each other before that show!

Good post, But i don't think there's such something between them, Its just they need more time to work together to be like "Good friends" .

I don't think actors need to be friends per say but they need to be friendly to make it a smooth working environment as in any job. Speaking generally here, not about the actors on this show. Dilip Kumar and Madhubala were in a relationship for part of the movie and hated each other the rest. At one point it is rumored he slapped her. They were part of the trouble that took the movie ten years to make. It makes things very difficult for the makers. So it goes back to smooth working environments. I don't think the actors here are unfriendly by any means, just guarded.

Professional actors can create chemistry on screen but sometimes things go the other way too. Things deteriorate. Anyway, don't think that will happen here. I was talking generally again. Thanks for finding this topic interesting.

Agree that she is formal with Gautam. I think she is wantedly maintaining distance. Her interviews with KSG or KW were a treat, esp with KSG. She is basically a very friendly person. She must be having her own reasons. I like SaMud's onscreen chemistry, so i have no issues about their offscreen chemistry.

As far as I have noticed, there is some ice between them. What I understand from the interviews is that Gautam is willing to create a nice bonding between Jenny and him.
I don't think Jenny of an aloof person. Other than KSG, I have seen her interviews with Karan Wahi who is very child like. Jenny and KW fondly known as JeRan are great friends.
Some people take time to bond and I consider Jenny and Gautam to belong to that category. They haven't worked with each other before so it's going to take time. When I see Jenny and Gautam, I get reminded of these actors Ravi Dubey and Aishwarya Sakhuja. There was a lot of awkwardness between them in the beginning but after few months they got along really well and now are best of friends.
One of the previous posts mentioned about Hina-Karan. These two don't meet eye to eye and to be honest, their on screen chemistry clearly shows that they don't bond offscreen. You can feel the tension and awkwardness between them.
I'm glad that Jenny and Gautam aren't like that. Their onscreen chemistry is fantastic.
