Hope Jenny and Gautam are friends eventually

It helps to act with someone you are comfortable with. They hardly know each other and have still done a great job. I have noticed from the start that they hardly give interviews together and when they do they are very uneasy.

Gautam is very nice and professional with his co-stars. Jenny's style is more formal...make that very formal. Maybe it is because she's newly wed and worried about the media writing crap as they do about everyone. But please be friend-ly if not friends. If you are so serious all the time, it will make your co-star uneasy and this is coming from a very serious person. There's nothing wrong with friendship. If you are ill-at-ease, it shows in interviews. Professionalism only goes so far. You two are already so great on screen being strangers, imagine how good it will be if you were more friendly.

I say this as no criticism. I am just saying that I observed in the interviews. Jenny is very very nice but she keeps quite distant from her co-star and the media. While introverted, she's not naturally this quiet or aloof. And no, I have not seen her past shows but I have seen her with other co-stars.

With the media, it makes sense as they make up a lot of stories, linking co-stars, etc. So, I am not suggesting they are friends for the SBS/SBB interviews. But Gautam is so nice, mature and professional. Be a little more friendly with him please, it will make the performance better.

*** While I expected controversy and disagreement, I do not like the attitude I am seeing with some members here. I am not advising here, I am saying as a viewer what I see - which makes this an opinion. A commentary in a forum. I am not proposing pretend friendship or fake closeness. Acting for introverts and people who are very formal is very painful within themselves even if they appear great on screen. As a well-meaning viewer, I am encouraging some positivity. I am presenting my point of view. Work is always work and I have found it in my experience more comfortable when things are a little friendly. What I am saying is that the tabloid media is the real trouble putting people on guard. There is no unfriendliness/issues with either actor.

and what makes you or anyone of us say they aren't friends?😕...In my honest opinion, not acting touchy-touchy or cozy with each other doesn't mean they are not comfortable or aren't friends..in fact, I prefer certain kind of decency among co-stars!!

Jenny and Gautam are through professionals...neither of them are the hyper ones, the ones who shout, scream, jump around lol..they are subtle, have their own kinds of fun without getting too hyper lol...either way the show is hardly a month old...but even then I feel they get along quite well and they don't need to spend time together offscreen to show/prove that.😊

Hi Mary.
I read your post, and what you feel is probably one side of it..Yes,Jenni is formal with Gautam, but i don't think its because she's newly wed or anything(in fact she's married for a year now!)..its just that maybe you have last seen her with KSG offscreen, and feel that that is what she's meant to be with all...Just to clear your doubt,Jenni is of course a sweet and nice lady, but you are wrong about what you are thinking of her sociability...Karan was a very close friend of Jenni's during DMG days, and so you can't really compare their friendship and comfort-level with anybody else's here..Even when you talk of KSG and Surbhi- KSG is guy who mixes well with more or less every kind of people..he opens up faster..you know, thats his nature..not his wife's.So,basically you or I can't appeal to people to be 'friends' for the sake of acting or any matter related to profession..that,is entirely personal. Now,this is completely my view, and i hope i have made things proper for you to understand..?

PS- This is not really the right forum to discuss this.Mods should look into this.

Yes, sure, why not? We are not exactly discussing the actor's personal lives. Talking about professional lives and not even comparing shows. At the end of the day, I think IF these days has too many rules. Forums have only one rule, nothing offensive.

You need to observe them. I am not saying they need to be in each other's laps or spend time with each other. It is simple body language and how they answer questions. Always so so careful, the unease shows. It has been one month with all the co-stars, but each of them are more comfortable with the other members of the cast. When there is comfort, it shows. I am not encouraging them to be friends, but friendly for their own sake. Otherwise acting for introverts is a very hard thing. It may not show but it is painful for the actor. Some people just can't be friends, yes.

Decency is a different thing all together. Being friendly is also decent. Decency is great, aloofness is not so great - and there is a difference.

You are bringing in KSG,Surbhi etc,who are not a part of the show..You are comparing offscreen closeness, judging comfort with other pairs..etc..This is not to be encouraged.

Mods are welcome to look into it as I am writing about it publically. I am not talking about their personal lives or telling them how to conduct their personal lives. I am hoping they are more friendly and less uneasy for their own professional sake. I am talking about work on the sets and being friendly as it will make the performance better. The thing about performance is that you have to let go of who you are as a person. That's what's called acting. They already do a good job of it individually.

And please watch your tone with me. You have no authority to "make things proper for me." Been here almost a decade, I am familiar with how forums run and how IF has changed over the years. If IF mods wants to get dictatorial and go against every rule of a proper forum, they can close the topic. It was written in a perfectly reasonable way without breaching any rules. I won't go into the particulars but as a legal and literature student, I can launch a discussion on the teachnicalities of the rules but this is just a forum at the end of the day - so informality is key.

If you make enough of an issue, you might just manage to close it. I welcome disagreement, but I do not take attitude.

I don't think either Jennifer or Gautam need to resort to pretending to be friends to give out a false impression of chemistry or to promote the serial. Their chemistry on screen is good and rest should be up to them.
But this is a forum and all these are just our views which do not really harm the actors . I don't see why the topic should not be allowed.
