Really now?! :)) Looking for logic in hindi daily soaps? Well there are some logical explanations to the points you have raised ..For instance, paying for the loss by money is not ''paschattap' or prayashcit as they call it because gau dhan , price of a cow who is worshipped in Hindu religion is priceless. This is the bigotry they showed and its very much there in villages where girls raped are forced to marry the rapist..How will you justify that? Its mean, harsh n wrong but it happens in our society. They are more concerned about making sure that Saras doesnt get out of all this easily by paying money than they are about the starving family.. They would rather let a child drown and die in the temple pond that let someone go into the pond and save a life.. About the other questions, you have raised ..well the whole story of how VC and LN's years long of friendship breaks will be based on that one mistake..Its a long story and you will understand more in the later episodes.. Having said all that I do agree that a lot of times you will feel oh how is that possible but this is a fictional story at the end of the day and you need to create circumstances for story telling which sometimes look forced..But this show looks far far more logical than a lot of other shows I have seen on television.

Hey Vaishali,

Man, I agree that money cannot be given for this crime. My problem is that the victim won't let him do the prayashchit. The purohit ji suggested a very apt punishment which satisfies the religious beliefs, what bugs me is that this decision is not supported by the victim herself. How is this suppose to work if the victim won't allow him to the the prayashchit?

Well thats what makes his job double tough.. Paschattap is never supposed to be easy..You think a rape victim is happy to marry the rapist? But she is forced to do so to save her family honor..You will be surprised it STILL happens.. In this case, this is how regressive the people are who think they know the world just because they read shastra and puran.. (religious books).. They are more concerned about the pond than a human life.. they dont even care for the family who has been living in that village for years..you think they will care for a foreigner ..? Its irritating but yeah this is the reality of our society specially in villages..

I agree its never suppose to be easy man. Ok wait I just got it. The rape victim is also not asked whether she wants to marry the accused, right? The same way, widow is not asked about what punishment does she want to give to Saras. is that the way it is?

Lol Jammy ! :) Even if she is asked what do you think her answer will be?! they dont care!!!! Simple! And this is sometimes the girls own parents who think no1 will marry their daughter now that she's raped.. there are worse scenarios than this ..its sad. The purohit and other people decided for her and she is expected to be grateful to them because they gave her ''justice''...made the man suffer who killed her cow..

Sad indeed. Its really sad that this still happens in the rural areas.

Well Saras has Kumud, they both will get through it😉

Maybe, that's the way it is, but it is a village where teacher mam goes to school in backless cholis, and naval showing sheer dupattas, even in Delhi, is not allowed in schools

And all this lets not tell LN about his son being forced to live like a forced laborer, because it will hurt his sentiments - cliched and far fetched.

My son in law has come from Dubai, he accidentally kills a cow, I know he is innocent, but he chooses to be punished, and I will hide it from his father, who is also my best friend?

Very very typically Hindi serial, the village is not the conventional village, so I don't know I am not convinced

The house belongs to LN, who can always give it back to his friend, what has the business bombing got to do with it?

Vaishali, while i see the logic in your points, I am not very convinced about the way it is being handled, so I share my POV.
