Re: Kumud's behavior ITA ego and pride are definitely involved here.
May I add there is also a pathetic amount of immaturity and complete self absorption. It is always me, mine and myself for Kumud. Some how I view her attempts to bring progress in her village also as part of a self-grandioseness. Granted she does appear to care for her family - but I do not see any genuine care or compassion in her - extending a helping hand to her family is just to put down Saras.
Kumud has to grow up a lot emotionally and mentally.
Her sister Kusum appears to be more well grounded then her.

Hello.
I have to disagree big time.

All the love and care she has for her family is certainly not for show. She truly really cares about her family and that is the one of the reason she was so rude to Saras because his rejection the whole family will be hurt not to mention the relation VC has with LN. Saras has became a part of the family as soon as the proposal was put forward. Honestly, what makes you think that all this is just pretend? I genuinely want to know.

Didn't you see the Maha episode? She clearly says that he (Saras) got hurt but I feel the pain. Thats true emotions man! Kumud has an ego and she has pride but there is no denying her love for her near and dear ones. Thats all true and nothing else.

Kumud has been very rude with Saras and does have an ego! But her emotions are genuine! She is an emotional person!

Some one who has genuine emotions for family would be grateful to the person who saved her father from being burnt alive and getting immediate medical attention via video conference.
Some one who has genuine emotions for the family would be strong enough to share Saras's letter of rejection with them. There is nothing to be ashamed about it as they do understand her and realize that Saras has a right to choose his bride.
Some one who has genuine emotions for the family would not insult their guest and humiliate him to get into a pond.
Some one who has genuine emotions for the family would not gloat over how she successfully humiliated Saras and got him to enter the pond to fetch her kite.
Yes she is an emotional person - but the good ones are only for her, herself and that what she desires!

Ok I can't believe I am defending Kumud! But here goes! She is very thankful for the stuff Saras has done for her family! But it was her ego that came in the way of thanking Saras! Within her heart she knows how amazing Saras is! She proved it when she defended him in front of the whole village! It is just that she wanted to stay in denial about it! Due to her ego!

What you call ego a pompous self image that encompasses self absorption and grandiosement to the point of neglecting others

I disagree! people who have an ego are not devoid of feeling emotions! I think both Elizabeth and Darcy were egoistic! But they did have genuine feelings for each other!

Kumud's mind drifts between her stubbornness and affection... and she really struggles sometimes to keep the balance. For example, when he was leaving, her heart was breaking but she didn't stop him.

my personal opinion, both of them have ego and holding on tight to it 🤪 they are falling for each other but do not want to acknowledge it. wonder what else coming ahead... dissapointing at times. good pairing and love the chemistry but why the egooo. their relationship should be strong and solid 😃

I disagree KUMUD has 10 times more ego than SARAS!
