Mary, thanks for this wonderful topic. I thought the same thing Shen I saw the girl. Admiring and being a fan of an actor is one thing but doing something like this to meet him and talking about his physique to him directly would really be embarrassing for him. But I think he must have got used to all these as part of this industry but the fans need to know their place.

Thanks Kaur, I am glad you said that. I try to keep my comments professional on IF too. But sometimes I read jokes my friends put here without embarrassing the actors and it is cute. There is no denying that Gautam was picked because he's very good looking and talented. Looks is very important for a character like Saras, so I made posts about how his eyes are perfect for the role but there's always a line. If I were to compliment him in person, I might have said that the scene was very aesthetically done or something, not comment on his "hot abs." That's just totally crossing the line like you said. Soumini is like 22 I think, really wish she knew better even if she did think he was so "hot."

I think I saw those posts of yours, about his face being symmetrical. Lets be honest, he's good looking but instead of calling him something like handsome or beautiful, "hot" is such a cheap word!!

You quite rightly said further somewhere that he behaved very well under those circumstances, we see other actors don't even let them come to their house, they just meet them on sets. He was so nice of letting them in, and look what they did, now he's probably never ever gonna let a fan girl in his house again coz they're just gonna make him feel awkward. And the fact that the girl did "telmalish" for every randomer, he was more so embarrased and asked the SBS crew to not do that and just let them come as it is. thats very humble of him. i hope no one else takes advantage of his politeness and nice behaviour. otherwise he will learn to not interact with fans at all, which will be a very sad day because honestly, his interviews are so good, he's so honest, no jokes, no idiotic answers, plain honesty is his game. he's such a straightforward person. next time sbs does something like this, they should consult the ethical guidelines :)

Interesting post :) To an extent, I do agree with you!

The way I see it, I don't thinks there's any harm in going gaga over your fave celeb, say when your posting on IF or when your interacting with friends. I think that's alright. I've done that so I can't be a hypocrite about it! 😆 And I bet most of these celebs secretly relish in it! Who doesn't wanna be doted on, eh?!

When you're lucky enough to meet a fave celeb, sometimes it's natural to go a bit overboard because you're in a state of shock - well I suppose that's how it is! Having said that there are boundaries of decency and there is something called etiquettes. I think when fans meet a celeb they should try and refrain from making that individual feel uncomfortable, aswell as save themselves from the embarrassment 😆

Also, it would be nice to comment on the actor's ACTUAL work aswell. I don't understand why one would want focus on physical appearance ONLY. Seems very shallow and superficial to me. This is what I consider hollow praise.

Although I haven't seen this fan I'm just throwing in my 2 cents from what you have posted :)

Mary ,

i love u for making this post 👏. i know its not gonna do any good to the ppl like them but still. the thing is when u personally meet the person u love n adore its normal to be shy n talk rubbish but what ever that girl said was well planed . i was covering my face bcz i was that much embarrassed . really how u can u tell a guy i like ur abs if this is the first time ur meeting that person.i think she was thinking that it will make me look cool n i will impress him. a lot of so call fan does that .

some ppl is tweeting the hell out of gautam too .really u like him i loved his work tell him once but constantly talking like he is some one u know from 10 years is annoying . i m afraid one day he will stop using twitter . this spamming needs to stop too .

and about the show who is making ppl do stuff like oil massage n all i will say they did not force u to do so . i know some show where ppl will make u eat dirty stuff n pay u for that .I dont understand why ppl participate . so its not the show to balm its the ppl again.

not seen this interview yet but im definitely going to check it out
but i totally agree with what you said, its wrong on so many levels especially the fan being young
people should show their appreciation/love but within limits, without trying to make the actor/actress uncomfortable as its just weird
just because they are actors the same rules apply as you would do in your real life to people you come into contact with daily
