totally agree. I mean now it's reached a point where her reasoning sounds just plain stupid. I mean there's one thing for you to be headstrong but this is just stubborn.

The story needs to be tweaked a little. Anyways who am I to say anything. 😆

She is just reacting because her pride was hurt. They all seem to have really high expectations of him because hey knew him as a kid.

I am not sure if I'm missing something here but I think as I saw the episodes (all of them) last night, the story so far is much more fresh in my mind and I want to share my 2 cents here.

So Saraswati Chandra turned her down

1. He did it before he saw her

He did it AFTER the proposal came from his family/father. When the proposal came, it never had a tag on it saying, "Proposal from a father who doesn't give monkeys about his son's opinion". So basically, a proposal in progress was halted abruptly by the very same people (as per Kumud's understanding Saras knew as well) in a very weird way.

2. He explained his reasons

His reasons i.e. I can't love you! That's a reason? How about elaborating a little further as to why can't he love her? Or how about not being so vague to a person whom he never met and just be formal and upfront and come out with it loud and clear that he is not ready for it or be damn honest and spit it out.."My dad decided without me knowing and I am yet to tell him that"

3. It's not like he met her, gave her false hopes and then ditched her

I wish he did! At least it would have made some sense! Here she is holding a letter with a big NO from him and at the same time his dad just calls and arranges for a video conference between the two. How much respect should a woman hold for a chicken heart like that? Isn't that the reason why she cried when telling her mom...woh darpokh hai! Someone who doesn't have the guts to tell his father how he feels but takes it out on a girl that he never met, yeah right! And false hopes?? His father gave all the hopes and till date keeps doing so to her parents. Didn't she repeatedly say, if you rejected me, that wouldn't have been a problem but insulting my father like that is not something I can handle!

4. Her family jumped the gun and assumed things

uhm! Her family jumped the gun..LOL. sweetheart these two families go long way! The proposal came from the family friend they know for years and apparently Saras spent his childhood there too. When in such close ties, you come with your son's proposal, its not to be taken lightly. I thought that was very clear.

5. She did not inform her dad about this, her choice

Don't agree! She was just about to tell him (recall morning tea) when the dude just landed from nowhere! I mean c'mon yaar, you firmly believe that the guy sitting on the other side of that computer is such a darpokh that he cannot stand up to his father and say his piece and you throw a challenge at him in 2 folds; either he tells his dad or he comes and tells her dad and next morning the darpokh crosses the arabian sea to reject her rather than making a bolder attempt to say no to his father...hilarious!

6. She dared him to come and tell her father

Nuff said on that above

7. He was honorable enough to do so

Loved the word "honorable". Coming all the way down to India, in her house and throw the bomb that I aint interested in your daughter! That's honorable? And where does his own father's dignity and esteem come into this picture. Has he thought abt it? I don't think he is here for honor..he is just lost and confused as to how a ganwar gujju larki throws a challenge at him! "Yesss..I have got to see her." That's the motive but does he know? Not sure..

8. He jumped into the fire to save her dad

And...?

9. He was concerned enough to give first aid to her dad and did not freak out like the rest of her family

Intelligent and smart ..yes! Raised abroad with higher education, first aid is commonly accepted.

10. She did not even thank him, instead is showing attitude

Thank him..for what? knowing that anytime he is gonna break the news and probably put her father in the same bed that he is right now? She should thank him for that?

Me no like

I also did not like her dialogue about rejecting her before even seeing her - I think it is better than seeing her and then rejecting her on looks or manner.

I couldn't figure her out at all and did not like her behavior today!

Deary...if you have not understood Kumud, you should start doing so soon. I have read the novel and I have seen the movie and I know how SLB's mind works. Moving forward what Kumud does and will do..will need a very thorough understanding of her character. If you fail to do so, then you may not enjoy the show and you will never understand the sacrifices these two make for the sake of love. I hope my answers clarified it a bit for you...my intentions are not to upset anyone but to stand up for a character that will always be scrutinized for the decisions she takes due to no faults of her own.

It is worse when a guy sees a girl and then rejects her.

It was not her he rejected, it was the idea of marriage.

She needs to understand that

Arshicritic, really an interesting topic. I think you might have been an IPK fan guessing by your name. I almost agree with your point. I think after seeing him in dreams she had somehow made up her mind that she wanted to share his life, the way she told Kusum that after seeing those eyes I want to share his pain. And the fact that her family were too happy and the proposal came from Saras dad made it even sure for her and seeing his eyes she said yes. She had started dreaming when the letter came. I agree he did say he can't love her because of personal reasons but for an outsider a dad always consults his son before sending a proposal and a son has the right to agree/disagree in this matter with his dad. Here Kumud doesn't know Saras house rules so thinks he is scared to talk to his dad whereas her upbringing has been the opposite. His sending a letter directly to her rather than thru parents irked her.
In her initial anger she doesn't show her face and challenges him to come down and talk to her dad. She went to his room wanting to see why everyone were praising him but when he told her that his sleep had spoiled because she stopped fanning, she again thought he was arrogant. She tests him every time asking him to talk to her dad and he responds every time saying he has to and has to go away. She wants him to stay since she has started to have some unknown feelings for him & is scared that he would walk away. She is shown as a bit bold, egoistic person and has made up her mind about him that he is arrogant, irresponsible so even after feeling something for him her hurt, desperation and ego comes first whenever she sees him.
Se wants to thank him for saving her dad but feels why should she do it before such a person, it is her big ego but she covers it up again thinking he rejected her. I agree with you that she keeps repeating the same but it is because she doesn't understand the reasons behind his behaviour and not giving him a chance to talk. I still feel she will understand him once she knows what he is going through.

Sorry that was too much big reply. Hope you don't mind and pls ignore if you feel it as nonsense :)

AMEN!

Seriously, yeh Kumund Sundari is too much. Her actions make her look so petty, arrogant and distasteful. Jab Sundari sudar jaaegi, then I think she will be worthy enough for Saras.

You raise some very good points about Saras. Yes, definitely he is very cowardly...he could not tell his own father that he doesn't want to go ahead with the proposal. However, I see two things holding him back: his mother's dialogue that he should follow whatever his father says without question (but then why does Saras go against his father in business-related matters?) and the thought that his father is very stubborn and will probably force Saras to be tied down by a wedding.

I just think the writing of this show is very weak as it shows too many contradictions and not a clear-cut, logical progression of emotions. When someone saves a person's father from a fire, then the natural thing to do is to be thankful, not show an attitude. The attitude can come after the thank you instead, like the next day. Hence I agree with topic maker that Kumund was not portrayed as a decent person today because of that.

More than anything I just wished she would give him a chance to explain without jumping on her high horse🤔...I do understand that she's hurt, but give the other guy a chance...I dunno but her digging her heels in to this extent doesn't bode well for the future...
