Great post 😃. This should be an eye opener and a great parenting lesson for Indian families . Stop comparing your kids. The constant letting down of your weaker kid ruins his self confidence completely. The child has pangs of jealousy and ends up resenting the 'better kid' lifelong. The sibling rivalry is fuelled by the parents themselves and they end up wondering what went wrong when the kids grow up.

Ouch... actually dont agree... she is taking out her feelings of insecurity and anger on Gunjan instead of Vihaan coz for weaker.people it is easier to blame people who will listen to you rather people who give a damn aboit you...

while her family should have been more sensitive they are probably celebrating that she got out of a bad deal. After realizing the kind of person Vihaan is she should stop taking his praise and his criticism at face value and only BE what SHE truly is... She needs to be her own person rather than what she believes others want her to be... Just because one d******* out for revenge calls her that cant mean she keeps looking at herself through his eyes all her lufe

And as far as Gunjan's adulation is concerned how can she forget that the same Gunjan also had to go through hell and insults... if she wants something she also needs to stick her neck out...

Just my POV no offence meamt

In every second Indian home, the siblings are compared and the weak one is humiliated and the children carry this gudge even when they become old enough. In Taare Zameen Par also this is shown quite vividly.

Gunjan is patronising to Rachna and Rachna rightly feels outraged. There is no equality in their relationship and Rachna's excessive dependence on gunjan is also one of the reasons. And Shail's jap gunjan gunjan is over the top while the others simply chorus.

Gunjan took the risk just by herself. No one asked her to do it. Her behaviour with Vihaan(the hugs etc.) was more hurting than the reality of Vihaan. If Rachna can face Mintu, why cant she face Vihaan's reality too?

I do think you both have a very good point.👏 I am going to actually keep this in my mind with my kids 😆

my point is only that rachna was telling gunjan that she was able to face reality of vihan and gunjan must inform her about vihan. but i say no.
on the day of engagement rachna herself told that vihan can never lie. then how could she believe vihan is lier?
gunjan knew her that she would never believe without proof that is why she created all drama. if she would tell personally to rachna, rachna would never trust her.
this point stops me favoring rachna. ... sorry no offense.
and if she is really worried about low self esteem, it can be improved without hating gunjan also...

I agree with the last point, in fact if you remember my post earlier, i had written how Gunjan was NOT doing right by Rachna by assuming Vihaan would be good for her just because she loved him, esp. since she had got to know what a jerk he was... and her lone crusader thing can get irritating...
But having said that, i dont believe Rachna can be excused for her behaviour... she can be irritated with Gunjan but i cant understand how her anger would never be directed at Vihaan... her feelings of insecurity are manifesting themselves misguidedly not towards the actual perpetrator who puts her down but towards the person who loves her because she feels the latter has stolen her thunder... she seems to have conveniently forgotten that the role play was written by Vihaan and not by anyone else... what worries me is that she is sorting it as Gunjan vs. Me and not how i will make sure no guy or person attacks my self-worth or plays me for a fool
As for the hugs, Gunjan has been a Mumbai girl, she doesnt put so much meaning into it... for the earlier hugs and for the later ones it was orchestrated by Vihaan

The only POV from Rachna I understand right now is that she feels bad when being compared to Gunjan. Ok that's fine! Parents tend to do that and it sucks. But otherwise I just think she is being ridiculous. Gunjan did so much for her. She exposed Vihaan for what he is. Could she not at least said "thank you"? I mean, all she is thinking is that her heart is broken...well get over it! Rajeev broke your heart too and you got over it. Rajeev defended her, saved her, helped her boost her morale and what has Vihaan done? Nothing but fill her head with fake words.
Yes Rachna, is behenji, she is bechari. You know why? Because that's who she puts her self off as. She can change if she wants to, she can be who she wants to be.
The whole family is happy that she escaped the clutches of Vihaan and all she cares about is that Gunjan looks mahaan.

Rachna does not care for Vihaan as he is an outsider and she has come to terms with him. But Gunjan is stealing everyone's respect, love and affection and in the bargain they are treating Rachna as some inferior being compared to Gunjan. Rachna was restrained at every step by her strict father and so how can she ever be like Gunjan whom her father is praising so much? Vihaan is a churi while Gunjan is turning out to be a meetichuri for Rachna. Gunjan is a mumbai girl but she just cannot flirt and dance so outrageously though reluctantly in front of her sister and yet expect Rachna to behave normally. A tall order.

Rachna wont be allowed to change by Dayal himself. It is not in her hands. They were overprotective and now they are blaming her for not being like Gunjan. Rachna's anger towards gunjan who is indirectly the root cause of her humiliations is justified.
