Bidaai, currently the longest running daily on Indian television, is coming to an end a little over three years after it went on air. A difficult decision for the channel and producer, since it was among the top five shows in recent months. "Personally, it was a tough call for me because Bidaai is my first show as producer and it's been an emotional journey. But we decided to end it on a high note," says Rajan Shahi who has directed the final two-hour special episode which will be telecast today. The show will have a happy ending with Alekh marrying Sulagna. Apparently, the channel toyed with the idea of shifting the show to another slot, but it was mutually decided to take a break and return with a new season. "Whether the new season will have the same star cast or we will opt for fresh faces through a generation leap is yet to be decided," adds Rajan.
