Colors is all set to bring India’s fang-tastic saga ‘Naagin’ back for Season 7, raising the scale of fantasy television like never before. Set against the powerful backdrop of the Mahakumbh, the season blends Indian mythology, fantasy, and contemporary relevance while introducing new mythical beings and a high-stakes, national-level threat. Retaining the core elements of revenge, romance, and mystery, the show reinvents itself with new-age storytelling and enhanced VFX, making it more cinematic and immersive. This season, the conflict goes beyond personal vengeance, positioning Naagin as a fierce warrior fighting the biggest battle. Premiering on 27th December and thereafter airing at 8:00 PM every Saturday-Sunday only on COLORS, ‘Naagin 7’ promises a serpentainment spectacle like no other. Namik Paul, essaying the role of Aryamaan, gets candid about stepping into the world of myths, mysteries, and meaningful storytelling as he gears up for his next big chapter on television with India’s much-awaited fantasy drama.
1. Tell us about the show.
A. Naagin 7 takes the franchise in a new direction. This season is not just about love or revenge; it’s the story of a Naagin with a bigger purpose who faces challenges she never expected. At its core, it’s about a daughter born into a legacy she didn’t choose but has to protect. Shaped by loss, love, and a promise left by her mother, she finds her path and strength in it. The show shows what happens when an ancient power wakes up to create a new threat, but the real story is her journey to discover who she is and what she stands for. My character, Aryaman, is a journalist caught up in a mystery and conspiracy that he can barely understand. With mythology, mystical beings, and high-stakes drama, Naagin 7 is set to be the most exciting and emotional season yet.
2. Tell us something about your character.
A. I’m playing a top journalist in the show, someone who is extremely sharp, disciplined, and very sure of what he wants. He’s a man of few words, very stoic, and emotionally guarded. He doesn’t react easily or get swayed by emotions, but that doesn’t mean he’s cold; he simply channels everything into his work. What he truly respects is efficiency and competence, and he has a deep appreciation for people who know their job and do it well. That’s where his equation with Priyanka’s character begins. She is his PA, but their relationship goes far beyond a basic professional setup. It’s layered, complicated, and full of unsaid emotions, which makes it very interesting to portray as an actor.
3. How has your experience of working with your co-stars been like?
A. It’s been a very comfortable and positive experience. Priyanka is extremely reliable and very chilled out as a person. She has this calm energy where she’s like, “yeh ho jaayega toh ho jaayega”, and that really helps on set. She doesn’t panic, she’s sorted, and she genuinely helps a lot, which makes working long hours much easier. I haven’t really worked much with Eisha yet because we don’t have many scenes together, but from whatever interactions we’ve had, she comes across as a very beautiful soul. The overall vibe on set has been quite warm and collaborative.

4. You’re playing a journalist in Naagin 7, and you’ve actually lived that life off screen too. How did that personal experience shape your performance?
A. I’ve been a journalist in real life, and that experience stayed with me while approaching this character. So from being a real journalist to a reel one in Naagin 7, the journey feels very full circle. Journalism teaches you to observe keenly, question deeply, and stay emotionally neutral while chasing the truth. That mindset helped me understand my character better, his discipline, his detachment, and his focus. Of course, the show is dramatized but having lived that life at some point gave me a certain authenticity and grounding while playing the role.
5. How has your experience been working with Ekta Kapoor for Naagin 7?
A. I think my journey with Naagin started on a high note. I unofficially got to know that I have been finalised for Naagin 7 on my birthday and so in that sense, Naagin 7 has been the best birthday gift I got this year. Working with Ekta Kapoor is always fascinating because she’s such an instinctive and powerful storyteller. She has this incredible clarity about her characters, their motivations, their journeys, and where they are headed, even before things unfold on screen. Sometimes, the way she explains a scene or a character makes you realise how deeply she’s thought it through. As an actor, that kind of vision gives you a lot of confidence because you know you’re being guided by someone who understands storytelling at a very deep level. Being a part of a show like Naagin 7 under her leadership is creatively very fulfilling, and it pushes you to trust the process and give your best every single day.
6. What message do you want to give to our viewers?
A. Naagin 7 is going to take viewers on a very emotional and thrilling journey, filled with surprises, drama, and moments that really stay with you. It’s a story about courage, self-discovery, and what happens when destiny finally calls you to step up. I genuinely hope audiences enjoy every bit of it and feel as deeply connected to the story and characters as we do while bringing it to life. I’m really looking forward to building that bond with the viewers and sharing this journey with them through the show.
