PART 18
"Gunni!!", screamed Anmol to call her downstairs as he was getting late for work and it was a big day for Gunni today. Gunni was going for her interview at most prestigious law firm of the town to apply for a position after completing her studies. She came running downstairs dressed up in a formal professional looking dress suit with files in her hand.
Gunni: Sorry, Chachu main papers organize kar rahi thi. Abh chalein?
Ragini: Ek minute Gunni, ruko.
Ragini stepped up and fed her yogurt as its auspicious and to wish her luck. Gunni hugged Ragini in return.
Ragini: All the best, Gunni aur mujhe yakeen hai ki aapko yeh job jaroor milegi.
Sakshi: Aur tumhari mehnat ka phal tumhe jaroor milega, dekhna.
Gunni: Thank you so much lovely, Chachis.
Alekh: We wanna hear some good news, allright! Best of luck.
Gunni: I hope so too, Chachu.
Vasu: Acha abh late mat hona, wish you all the best
Inderjeet: Good luck beta, make us proud.
Gunni: Thank you bade papa.
Anmol: Chalo bacha party, lets go!
Anmol and Gunni left along with the kids and he dropped off the kids first.
Tammy & Khushi: Best of Luck didi!
Gunni: Thank you my little munchkins!
Anmol then drove off to their destination; Malhotra Solicitors and Barristers Law Firm.
Anmol: Well, here you go Gunni! Jaise hi interview khatam ho mujhe phone karke batana ki kya hua aur ghar par phone kardena, driver tumhe pick karne aa jayega. All the best.
Gunni: Thank you so much, Chachu.
Anmol got in the car and drove off while Gunni made her way into the building. Upon taking the elevator, she had reached the 3rd floor and she requested the receptionist that she is here to see Mr. Malhotra for an interview. After being seated for few minutes, she was told to go in the cabin. Upon taking a deep breath and fixing her hair, Gunni gathered her files and walked in the cabin. She shook hands with the CEO of the law firm and began explaining about her studies and how it would be beneficial for her to work at such prestigious law firm. After having a detailed meeting for about an hour, Mr. Malhotra was convinced that she would be great addition to their law firm seeing her creditibility.
Mr. Malhotra: Well, Ms. Rajvansh, Congratulations and we welcome you aboard. I am sure you will prove to be a great addition for us and our law firm.
Gunni: Thank you so much for believing in me, Sir.
Mr. Malhotra: Ms. Rajvansh, main chahunga ki aap shuruaat ke liye kuch legal cases main lawyers ko assist karein; preparing case briefs etc. I am sure as time goes on, you will be able to handle cases by yourself. So, you would be working with Mr. Kapoor and he also joined us few months back and he has been assigned to a case. Aap unke saath us case par kaam karengi aur I am sure aap dono ek achi team saabit honge. Main unhe inform kar deta hoon apke baare, aap room 305 main jaakar unse mil sakti hain and he will guid you through. All the best.
Gunni: Thank you, Sir.
Gunni walked out of that cabin all elated as she had finally gotten the job in such prestigious law firm as it would be great stepping stone for her career later on. She made her way to room number 305 praying that Mr. Kapoor would be someone nice as she would have to work with him. She slightly knocked on the door and walked inside upon hearing the response from inside.
Gunni: Hello Sir, I am Gunni Rajvansh.
The person sitting on the chair spun the chair around and got up to greet Gunni when both of them had a surprised look on their face. Indeed it was a surprise for Gunni to see Abhay Kapoor, who she had recognized from her college days; he was 2 years senior to her but being in same college, they both had interacted at various occassions at college.
Gunni: Abhay tum yahan?
Abhay: I can't believe its you, Gunni. How are you, long time no see. Umm please, have a seat.
Gunni: Mujhe yakeen nahi ho raha ki main tumse baatein kar rahi hoon, I mean tum to college ke baad gayab hi ho gaye. Maine tumhare friends se tumhara contact number bhi liya lekin contact ho nahi ho paya.
Abhay: Haan college ke baad main Delhi chale gaya tha studies ke liye aur phir graduation ke baad, yahan aakar main job ke liye apply kiya. I just joined few months ago. Aur tum batao, yahan kaise?
Gunni: Well same reason, I finished studies and here I am in this law firm to start work experience. So, I guess I am working with you, what a co-incidence.
Abhay: I hope a good one, ofcourse. Its good to see you after such a long time, college ki saari yaadein taaza ho gayi. Aur acha hua yahan main kisi ko jaanta bhi nahi tha, so its great to see you and the fact that we will work together.
After that, Abhay showed her the office and introduced her to other staff. Later he briefly outlined her the case that they are supposed to be working on. Gunni was impressed with his knowledge and how he explained everything to him.
Abhay: Well, I guess this should be enough for introduction, nahi? Hum kal se start karenge in more detail.
Gunni: Yea, so if everything is done, can I leave?
Abhay: Yea, well I mean I would have loved to make you stay for lunch today but I have meeting with a client. So I guess, I will see you tomorrow.
Gunni: Its no problem and it was great seeing you after such a long time and indeed it was a great surprise. I will see you tomorrow 9 AM sharp, Sir.
Abhay: Oh please, no Sir! And it was great seeing you as well. Take care and see you tomorrow.
Abhay went back to work and Gunni had left the cabin. They both had smiles on each other's faces after seeing each other after so long. Gunni had called Ragini and Ragini told her that she is coming to pick her up as she is already out doing errands. Ragini told the driver the address of the firm and after a short while, she had arrived there. She got out scanning the area as she waited for Gunni. Gunni came outside and she hugged Ragini with joy to share such big news.
Gunni: I got the job, Chachi!!
Ragini: Congratulations, Gunni. Main bahut khush hoon apke liye aur mujhe yakeen tha ki aapko yeh job jaroor milegi.
Gunni: Chachi, yeh sabh aapke, Chachu, aur baki gharwalon ki goodwishes se possible huya hai.
They were in car now and Gunni was explaining Ragini how her interview went.
Gunni: Aur Chachi sabhse achi baat yeh huyi ki aaj itne saalon baad meri mulakaat mere college ke dost se huyi, Abhay. Voh college main mera senior tha lekin hum college festivities ke dauraan milte rehte the. Phir voh delhi chala gaya aur usse contact nahi ho paaya, aur aaj yoon aise use achanak dekhkar main to hairaan hi reh gayi. Jiske saath mujhe casework karna, voh Abhay hi hai. I am so glad.
Ragini: Are wah, yeh to bahut achi baat hai Gunni. Puraane doston se milne ka maza hi kuch aur hai, college ki yaadein dubara taaza ho jaati hain.
Gunni: Are Chachi, main baaton baaton main Chachu ko to phone karna bhool hi gayi, unhone mujhe phone karne ke liye kaha tha.
Ragini: Koi baat nahi, hum unhe office jakar yeh news dete hain.
Gunni: Okay, I can't wait to see him and tell him the good news.
Upon reaching the office, Ragini and Gunni walked in Anmol's cabin. Anmol was delighted to see Ragini and Gunni. Gunni quickly walked upto him and hugged him.
Anmol: Congratulations, Gunni. I am very proud of you.
Gunni: Chachu abhi to maine aapko bataya hi nahi ki mujhe job mili ke nahi.
Anmol: Tumhari khushi dekhkar mujhe aur kuch poochne ki zaroorat nahi padi. Well its definitely a good news.
Ragini: Humne socha ki office aakar aapko yeh news dein.
Anmol: Well, I think is good news ko celebrate karne ke liye humain lunch bahar karna chahiye nahi? Lets go, mujhe vaise vi bahut bhookh lagi hai.
Ragini: Anmol, Jija Ji aur Papa Ji nahi hain office main?
Anmol: Nahi Ragini, bhaiya to site par gaye hain aur Papa Ji bhi meeting par gaye hain.
All 3 of them drove to their favourite restaurant and had ordered food after being seated. As they were having lunch, Gunni narrated Anmol how her interview was and what would she have to do. Ragini told Anmol that Gunni was more excited to meet her college friend, Abhay and Gunni further told Anmol about Abhay and that they would now work together. After having their lunch, as they were all walking outside, Gunni had slightly bumped into someone and lifted her eyes to see who it was.
Gunni: I can't believe it, hum itne saalon se mile nahi aur aaj jab mile hain to baar baar mil rahe hain. Tum mera peecha to nahi kar rahe?
Abhay: No, actually maine bataya na tha ki meri client ke saath meeting hai to voh yahan hi milne wale the mujhe. I just finished having meeting with him.
Gunni realized that she didn't introduce Abhay to her Chachu and Chachi.
Gunni: Well, Abhay I would like you meet my Chachu and my Chachu. Chachu, this is Abhay jiske baare main maine abhi aapko bataya tha.
Abhay shook hands with Anmol and said Namaste to Ragini who nodded back.
Anmol: I am Anmol Rajvansh and shes my wife, Ragini. Bahut acha laga tumse milkar, Gunni abhi tumhare baare main bata rahi thi.
Abhay: Aapse milkar bhi bahut acha laga; jee main aur Gunni college main saath the par graduation ke baad contact hi nahi ho paya.
Anmol: I think it would be great for you two work together as you already know each other. Well, it was nice meeting you Abhay and hope to see you again. Sorry I have to rush back to office now as I have an urgent meeting.
Abhay: No, its completely allright. Nice meeting you.
Gunni: I will see you tomorrow at work.
Abhay: Yea sure.
Ragini: Aap ghar aayiyega kabhi jab time mile kaam ke baad.
Abhay: Ji jaroor, thank you.
They all left to their separate destinations; after dropping Anmol back to the office, Gunni and Ragini went to pick the kids from school and then got home after. Sakshi and Vasu congratulated Gunni on her achievement.
