Exactly! It's impossible to completely erase someone in real life like the DT has done to Ranvir! Relatives, neighbors, friends are bound to remember him! Plus RV family is so well known and reputed in Agra that it's completely illogical that nobody remembers Ranvir..
It's one of my main grouses with this leap. How is realistically possible that Ranvir is nonexistant? Vasu and Ragini remember him every now and then, but Alekh and Gunni have completely forgotten Ranvir. And Ranvir's own daughter has no idea he existed! That's just really sad and it hurts terribly!
I know Ranvir wanted it like this..but still..I just really dislike the way Ranvir's death and the aftereffects have been handled..
I was 9, 2 years younger than Gunni when Ranvir died, when my grandpa (dadaji) died and I still remember him! yes my memories of him are hazy, but I haven't forgotten him and I remember him quite happily unless I think about his actual death--that's the only time I get sad remembering him!
I don't want Ragini to mourn Ranvir, I don't want her to wear a white saree and whatnot, I don't want anybody to get sad thinking about Ranvir. I mean he was such a fun-loving guy! We just remembered that scene where Gunni came in to sleep so happily! That's natural and normal! Why cant RV family remember Ranvir like that? Sharma family I have 0 expectations from! The people who couldn't even bother to visit the guy in jail when he was alive, they're definitely not going to remember him when he's dead.
Anyways it was the cutest scene ever!

That's exactly how I feel and think. As for Sharma family, trough them, cts even tried to make mockery of Ranvir in one early post leap scene where Kavya asks Mamaji "don't I look like Ranbir" and Mamaji says "who is Ranbir" to mami and mamiji in turn "hoga koi hamara door ka rishtedaar". In my opinion, cheapest joke ever tried in any show.

Laptops, ugh I usually copy everything in case i lose connection or any issue.

Thanks for the video of the link really sweet , My Gulabo and Kaju katli(kinrul as named by dadi bua in one sbs segments) were so refreshing in it.

Yes Ranvir's death was very callously and shabbily handled. I still couldn't accept it. I cann't believe these are same ct's and directors who gave us first 2 years of Bidaai , especiaaly every episode since 13th october 2008 to 10th march 2008 were so well written and crisply directed.

Sorry for quoting you so many times but just wanted to share that I too lost my grandfather and fondly remember him most of the time.

I was 7 when my Nana died and I still remember sitting in the corner of the room with my cousin and crying...I remember everything very clearly...long term memory is a strong thing.

It's actually not the same writers. That's why I have no obligation whatsoever to appreciate them..Garima Digri (bidaai's + YRKKH CT head) came in November around rift track..RS fired his entire team of writers overnight in November-ish..
Plus he was looking for new writers and stuff..many of them seem to have come right from Ekta's shows..
I am thankful that RS + foursome + whoever wrote for Bidaai from it's starting to May 2008 for giving us Bidaai, but since then I find it hard to truly appreciate anything in Bidaai..

I wish RS had not done so. He should have retained at least main writer. RS who values writers so much, how could he fired original cts.

🤗
I know what you mean! I remember exactly how I found out and how I ran into the room and cried! I remember going back to India and how my dadi held me and cried..I remember it all!
I remember a few fond memories too! Like how he used to pick me up from school and his likes and dislikes! I'll look at pictures and hazily remember the times!
Memories are very strong and they always stay with us no matter what!
@tamushi
Very true! The bond between a grandchild and a grandparent is very special and unique!

Well I'm not quite sure if he actually fired everybody..the article said that he fired quite a few people..
But at that time Bidaai had already lost a lot of its charm but it was still bearable..After the change, IMO, it's just gotten worse..

If Sharmaji doesn't remember Ranvir, no wonder Gunni remembers him(in the show).Wonder if she remembers her parents Navin-Avni since they were ent to jail around the same time
