Bad times brings out the best or worst in people....the real-self, their strengths and weakness etc. The consequences of Sadhana speaking the truth in the court has a bigger meaning than just showing her so miserable and all. Whatever treatment Sadhana is getting from any character is just portraying the inner-self of that character. That's my 2 cents.
