It would be bad not to acknowledge the love of Mamaji and Ragini for Sadhna.. when Kaushi taunted Sadhna, Ragini acted like a mother to her and Mamaji, he never saw any difference between Sadhna and Ragini... Mamaji is a great man, I am happy that Ragini and Vinu took their father's personality and did not become like Kaushi...

What a beautiful post Bani... I can't believe I missed this one! Whatever you've written is all so true, and I don't think I could have worded it better.

Sadhna, just for her sister, gave up a life of dreams that was awaiting her, and married Alekh. She put her own reputation at stake, time and again just for the well being of Alekh and the people she loves. Its very rare you find someone as extraordinary as Sadhna.

Even after being verbally abused by her mamiji during her entire childhood, her mind still never held any hatred for her (in contrast to Ambika who took out her anger in the worst possible ways). Despite being born with a beautiful face, Sadhna's never really experienced the happiness that anyone as pretty as her would usually recieve in such a society.

I hope that in the end, when Alekh recovers, Sadhna gets the happiness she deserves. Because she's really earned it.

Your reply is so well written.. yes Sadhna has EARNED it. In another post, I read sometime back, some people were commenting, whatever Sadhna is doing is for her own life and husband and whatever Ragini is doing is selfless... I love Ragini's character and always feel that she and Mamaji are the ones who can feel this goodness of Sadhna....

I wonder when people make such comments about Sadhna's character, are they blind or what? Can anyone really say anything bad about Sadhna's character? Is there a scope for that? Its a sin to find fault in people like Sadhna's character, its so loveable. If we comment about Sadhna being selfish, then I must say we have lost the heart to appreciate goodness in people...

Yea, I have read similar comments as well... and when I do, I just choose to ignore them since its beyond me to imagine why anyone would think like that. I guess each has their own thinking, and her character is such that it doesn't even need to be explained to anyone. So its best to ignore them.

But truly, the words 'Sadhna' and 'selfish' don't belong in one sentence. She's proved to us numerous times by her many sacrifices how selfless she is. Right from her childhood, all she has done is only sacrifices and kept others happiness before her own. Ragini and Sadhna, both of them, are beautifully molded characters... and I don't think their names deserve to be tarnished with the word 'selfish'.

I feel very happy to see that people who appreciate Sadhna, most of them never become miser in penning good qualities of Ragini. But the opposite is not true. Anyways, I wont dwell on that, just ignore it.

Sadhna's character and her goodness has reached such a height that it is next to impossible to label her like she is doing something for her own life.
