Part 9
The next morning Dhairya wakes up and is in a terrible mood. He heads downstairs and sees that Santoshi has made his favourite breakfast and is waiting to serve him. He then recalls how Santoshi was with Kiran last night and the other previous events and says in an angry tone "I am not hungry." "I am going to head to the office early." Santoshi feels a bit hurt, as she watches Dhairya storm off. Meanwhile Kiran watches as the whole scene unfolds and tries to cheer Santoshi up.
Later that afternoon Santoshi gets ready to go to the mandir while Dhairya is at work. She comes downstairs and sees Kiran waiting for her. She says "Kiran, I thought you had a meeting?" "How come you are still here?" Kiran says "Aunty said you were planning on going to the mandir and thought that I could drop you off." Santoshi says "Kiran, you don't have to trouble yourself, I will just get the driver to take me." Kiran says "Santoshi the mandir is on the way, besides it is no trouble." "Can't you let me do this much for you as a friend?" Santoshi says "Okay, let's go." Madhu comes out from behind the pillar and smiles wickedly seeing the two leave and says "You wait Santoshi, I will poison Dhairya against you and get you out of this house once and for all."
Kiran and Santoshi are in the car driving towards the mandir. Kiran is talking continuously while Santoshi is silent. He says "Oh hello, I am talking to you?" "Since when are you so quiet?" Santoshi says "I am not." Kiran says "Oh I see, your married now and your husband doesn't like you having a male friend?" Santoshi looks at him and thinks "So he knows Dhairya is jealous of him." Santoshi says "No it is not like that." "Dhairya is not like that." She knew she did not sound convincing, but hoped Kiran would not push the issue anymore. Kiran thought to drop the subject and talk about something else when his car starts to make some funny sounds. He says "Arey, what happen to this car?" Santoshi says "What's wrong?" Kiran says "I don't know." He pulls over and stops the car and tries restarting it, but it doesn't start. He says "I will open the hood and see what the problem is." Kiran goes to open the hood and see what the issue is. Not seeing any problem he tells Santoshi that he will call the mechanic as he is not sure what is wrong with the car. He goes to make a call but there is no cell reception. Santoshi too tries her phone but gets no reception.
Meanwhile Dhairya comes back from work and is looking for Santoshi to apologize for his behaviour this morning. Madhu says "Dhairya are you looking for Santoshi?" "Haan, Maabhi have you seen her?" Madhu smiles and says "Santoshi and Kiran went to the mandir awhile back and she has not returned." Dhairya thinks "Kiran and Santoshi went to the mandir together?" "I thought he had a meeting?" Angered that the two of them were together again, he decides to try and call Santoshi, but no one picks up. He tries again and again and gets nothing. He says "I hope nothing bad has happened?" Madhu says "Dhairya beta, Kiran is with Santoshi, I am sure he won't let anything bad happen to her." Dhairya angrily says "Santoshi is my wife, I don't need some other man taking care of her." He paces around and thinks what to do and says "Maybe I should go to the mandir." As he is about to get his keys, he sees Santoshi and Kiran come inside the house. Dhairya goes over to Santoshi and hugs her tightly and glares towards Kiran. He says "Where were you?""I got so worried when Maabhi told me you had gone to the mandir several hours ago and had not returned yet." "Why didn't you pick up your phone?" Santoshi says "The car broke down and we had no cell phone reception." "That is why it took so long for me to come back." Dhairya then looks at Kiran and says "I thought you had a meeting?" "Why were you at the mandir with Santoshi?" Just as Kiran was about to answer he winces in pain. Santoshi looks at Kiran and says "What happened?" He removes his jacket to reveal a huge gash on his arm. Santoshi rushes over to him and grabs his hand and says "Why didn't you tell me you got hurt when you were trying to fix the car." Kiran says "You were already worried, that I didn't want to worry you any more." Santoshi calls Pushpa and says "Please bring me the first aid box." Pushpa goes and brings back the first aid box and Santoshi starts cleaning Kiran's wound. Dhairya sees all this and storms upstairs while Madhu looks satisfied.
After Santoshi was done cleaning Kiran's wound she headed upstairs to talk to Dhairya, as she knew he was upset. She wanted to explain to him that she didn't go to the mandhir with Kiran and that he was just dropping her off. When she opens the door to their room she sees a shirtless Dhairya angrily hitting his punching bag. She goes towards him and says "Dhairya." He ignores her "She says "Dhairya, listen I want to talk to you." She grabs his arm and turns him around. She says " I know you are angry with me." Dhairya looks at her and says "Why would I be angry?" "We are newly married, but Kiran seems to be the only important thing to you." Santoshi is taken aback and says "Dhairya it is not what you think." "I knew it was a bad idea for Kiran to stay here." "I knew you would be jealous." Dhairya hearing this and gets super angry and grabs Santoshi and pins her to the wall. He says "Were you one of those girls in college who had a crush on Kiran?" "Is that why you want to spend all this time with him." Santoshi can't believe Dhairya accusations and starts to cry and says "Dhairya, he is my friend." "I have never had feelings like that for him." "You are the only one I love." Dhairya not wanting to listen to her says "Just leave me alone." He then screams "Get out!" Santoshi runs out of the room in tears and Dhairya hits the punch bag in anger. When she leaves she bumps into Kiran. He says "What is wrong?" She wipes her tears and says "Nothing." Kiran says "Did Dhairya make you cry?" Santoshi doesn't say anything. Kiran says "I will not leave him." Santoshi holds him back and says "Please, it is nothing." He says "Maybe I should leave." "Clearly Dhairya doesn't like me, and doesn't like us spending time together." Santoshi says "It is nothing like that." Kiran says ,"I don't want to see you cry." "I will leave after your birthday party." He wipes her tears and she hugs him. Madhu takes pictures of them and smiles and says "Now see how long you will stay in this house Santoshi."
That evening everyone is sitting at the dinner table and Santoshi starts to serve everyone for dinner. She goes to serve Dhairya and snaps at her and says "No, Maabhi can serve me." Santoshi is hurt, and everyone senses tension between the couple. Kaka thinks to speak to Santoshi later about what happened. He then notices that Kiran is not at the dinner table and says "Santoshi beta, where is Kiran?" "Is he not coming for dinner?" Santoshi says "Kaka he is meeting some friends, he won't be back until late tonight." Upon hearing that Dhairya looks somewhat relieved that Kiran was gone for the evening. Everyone eats their dinner in silence. Once dinner was over Santoshi thinks to head up to her room early as she was feeling tired. As she was to head upstairs Kaka comes and says "Santoshi beta, is everything okay with you and Dhairya?" "He seemed very angry." Santoshi said "It is nothing Kaka." "Dhairya and I have not been able to spend that much quality time together." Kaka understands and says "Maybe you two should go on a honeymoon." "After all you two are newly weds." Santoshi smiles and says "But Dhairya just started working." Kaka says "Santoshi there will always be work, but you and Dhairya need this." "You two have been through so much." "Think about it." Santoshi nods and says goodnight to Kaka before heading upstairs. When she enters the bedroom she sees Dhairya getting ready for bed. She simply looks at him and then heads to the bathroom to change, not wanting to argue. Dhairya who had some time to think about things realized he was wrong for his earlier behaviour and says "I should apologize to Santoshi for being a jerk." "How could I accuse her of all those things." Santoshi comes out of the bathroom and Dhairya says "Santoshi!" She ignores him and tries to walk past him to go to bed. He grabs her hand and says "Santoshi, I am sorry." She says "What are you sorry about?" He thinks "Oh god she is not going to make this easy." He holds his ears and says "I am sorry for acting like a jerk and for yelling at you?" "I didn't mean to accuse you of having feelings for Kiran." "I just want to spend time with my wife." Santoshi says "So you admit you are jealous of Kiran?" Dhairya looks at her slightly surprised but doesn't say anything, while Santoshi gives him a look that says she is waiting for a response. Dhairya not wanting to admit he was jealous looks down and quickly nods his head yes. He then looks up and sees that Santoshi is waiting for him to say the words. He says barely above a whisper "Yes, I was jealous." Santoshi says "What?" "I couldn't hear you." Dhairya squeezes his eyes shut and pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration and says more loudly "Haan, I was jealous baba." "Kush?" Santoshi begins to smile amusingly and Dhairya says "Oh good, I thought you were going to beat me." She says "If you do anything like what you did earlier I will." She then gets serious and puts her arms around his neck and says "I know that we haven't had much time to spend together." "But I promise that is going to change." Dhairya looks at Santoshi intriguingly. She then says "I have decided that we should go on our honeymoon next week." Dhairya gives he a cheeky smile and says "Oh you want to seduce me?" Santoshi looks at him in shock, while Dhairya winks and kisses her on the cheek and says "Goodnight." leaving Santoshi standing their in disbelief.
