All the way in the car, driving to work, Abhay listened to nothing but Rudr. Pihu ranted and raved about her friend. Abhay was wondering whether he would have to invite Rudr himself for the wedding. lat time he came uninvited, but this time Abhay would invite him personally.

"Priyamvada, I was thinking...."

Pihu stopped long enough to catch her breath and then continued. She was now at Rudr and she as nine year olds. Abhay let her carry on for another few minutes till she reached their teens.

"Priyamvada, I think I should invite Rudr personally to our wedding."

Pihu was silent.

"Priyamvada?"

"Yes Abhay. I heard you the first time. Umm...I need to go take a shower...bye!"

Abhay stared at his phone. Did she just hang up on him? He speed dialled her.

"Priyamvada. You can't avoid this. It's important."

"Yes and my parents don't want him anywhere near me ever again!"

Abhay understood Pihu's predicament. The two families were at odds and there was a rift that seemed to be from some earlier grudge or misunderstanding. Now Pihu and Rudr were having to pay the price. Abhay still had sympathy for Rudr. Despite everything, he understood that Rudr, being a man, would be possessive over his Pihu. He would try to talk to Rudr alone. Man to man. Pihu didn't need to know. it wouldn't help in any way. Yes. he would set up a meeting with Rudr soon. He was sure they would find something in common....apart from Pihu.

Abhay was busy till noon seeing patients at his surgery. He was a popular doctor. A cardiologist. And many of his patients were referred to him by his own parents so he was reluctant to charge them any fees. After seeing the last patient before luch, Abhay decided to drive back into town and track down that girl who was with Rudr that night. She had been the one to alert everyone to Rudr's suicide drama. She seemed like someone who would help him talk to Rudr. His driver got them to the girl's former shop. t was no longer there, but the people around there gave him directions to her home.

Gauri was just leaving home to go work at Rudr's house for the day. Abhay walked up to her.

"Excuse me, may I have a word with you?"

Gauri recognised him and nodded nervously. What did this guy want? Had Rudr pulled another stunt?

"I was just wondering if you could ask Rudr if he will meet me. It can be anywhere he chooses. I just want to speak with him. It's urgent."

From Abhay's demeanour, Gauri immediately realised what he was after. She knew he would want to be kind. But Rudr was never going to entertain Abhay. Not even for a minute. It was better to leave Rudr alone.

"I know who you are and I know you don't mean any harm. But Rudr is not the type to listen to anyone when it comes to Pihu."

Abhay was not about to give up, "Gauri, this is about sorting out our futures. I dont' want anything to upset Priyamvada. I'm here because of her. And I want to talk to Rudr for Priyamvada's sake."

Gauri nodded. "Alright. I'm going to his place now. Let me talk to him first."

Abhay thanked Gauri and gave her his number.

Gauri held the piece of paper with Abhay's number on it. She didn't have her phone with her. She had lent it to Rudr last night. As she got to Rudr's place, Bhabhi opened the door and let her in.

"Gauri. I'm so glad you are here. Rudr just broke a vase and nearly climbed onto the chandelier!"

Gauri was not surprised, "oh is that all? so he's much better than yesterday."

Bhabhi looked shocked and scared at the same time but didn't speak because Rajrani was coming down the stairs. They waited till RR majestically descended the stairs and then Bhabhi offered her a cup of tea from the tray she always carried. Even Gauri was not allowed to touch that tray. That was exclusively Bhabhi's tray.

Gauri wordlessly climbed the stairs towards Rudr's room. RR watched her with a displeased look. the girl had started work only yesterday and already she was behaving like the lady of the house. This was all her Rudr's fault! Now she had to grin and bear all this.

Gauri knocked on Rudr's open door. He was slumped on the bed looking tired and depressed. No matter how often Gauri cheered him up, he still reverted to Pihu memories when he was alone. No amount of drinking could keep Pihu out of his head. Gauri decided that she could not talk about Abhay now. She would first have to get Rudr out of his Pihu haze and then fill his mind with pleasant thoughts. But how? For Rudr, happiness meant being with Pihu, being married to Pihu. Gauri felt sorry for him, for Pihu and for Abhay....

she shd just let rudr sleep.. n whisper meeting abhay in r's ears while he's asleep... it's easier to talk to R in subconscious state
