Dr. Ishani & the mystery - First week impression

I am an old viewer of Sanjeevani as well as DMG so Firstly I would like to say that overall show was good for first week but I felt new char scenes were rushed/not properly executed and old characters scenes were quite slow. Also editing and execution need improvement.

I have seen many people trolling,criticizing Ishani so my post is only on her character. Firstly they are not seeing her POV and secondly it is just start and characters are getting establishing so char as well as actor will take a while to fit in their shows so hold your horses to go full on bashing.

I loved the entry of Dr Ishani and Surbhi was fabulous showing the feeling of dream coming true. The scene where Ishani gets her coat,badge & one employee wishes her good morning - that was the best scene and Surbhi portrayal was spot on.

The meeting of Dr ishani and Dr Sid felt abrupt and total disappointment. Who starts fighting in first meet itself. Like agar takra bhi gaye then people say sorry and move ahead. So I feel meeting could have been better.

Loved Asha and Ishani scene except the dustbin part where I felt Surbhi was a bit loud otherwise scene was ok.

Ishani - Rishabh scene was old. Ishani is very much flawed character and I am all up to see her journey.

Loved how Dr Ishani stepped up and saved the boy. It shows that when it comes to saving patient she herself battles between rules and patient and at last chooses patient.

Now coming to main part where many seems to gave problem.

So a new resident comes to hospital sees a random doctor using his profession to manipulate a girl to do surgery of many body parts to get extra money. now she doesn't know that what that money is for. Even i found it wrong that to help poors you are using rich people. Does all rich people have money from black work? Many become rich with hardwork too.

So Ishani sees it and warns him & also gives him chance to explain why he did so but he refuses to tell.

I loved the Vardhan-Ishani scene & then followed by magzine scene. It told us that Ishani parents have been guilty of a big scam and she has solid fear of this surname Arora spoiling it. Surbhi was superb superb in this scene.

I loved her scene with Shashank like she was being baby with him which shown that she is very close to him.

Surbhi is getting into Ishani skin as episode 4 and episode 5 she was very good.But still I felt overall Ishani character is not established well. Execution of few scenes could have been better. It feels rushed, not properly executed but yes overall Ishani char looks very interesting and intriguing.

Would like to hear others views.

But I'm confused with the editing, ishani scenes are rushed and put in between randomly in episodes. This making me as a viewer a bit confused. 4 cases in one week was too much. We didn't even get the time to understand what is happening.

I felt that her scenes are rushed. Infact first episode itself I felt that Ishani scenes are being rushed, then she is randomly places here and there just to give scenes in few places. The character seems complex and they really need to give a pause, have better execution and be slow. Because it was really irritating as a viewer to see that rushed scenes/bad editing or say execution.

Ishani definitely has deeper issues which have scarred her psyche, a past scar that springs startlingly causing her soul to bleed, there is hurt & humiliation,irrespective how she tries to cloak it , especially around exacting emotional situations, she looks impetuous, overwhelmed distracted with definite ignominy that is clandestine & dark, the edginess is evident ,when she starts talking aloud her thoughts with blank eyes and desolated expression, her OCD looks like a counter defence to set things " right".

Ishani's character has complex layers with gradation that needs sensible & mature handling by makers to prevent it veering as a caricature with constant growth & healing to make it look look correct & conceivable 😃

Ishani is definitely not mahaan or perfect female, that's why people will have more issues with her.

SC is a bit under performing only in scenes with namit. Maybe because the sidisha scenes are without any logic or build up. I find her scenes with rohit and mohnish quite well. Even with sayantani her scenes are good.

Wanna say many things about others too, but since your post is only on ishani and SC, will stop.

Seriously hope upcoming is good, gave a try only for SC here. If not good, I will really just change the channel because till now no characters are even making sense to me, not even Sid nor the senior ones.

Thank you for dropping in your views. Few scenes of Ishani are coming out so well so yes makers need to handle it carefully and have to show a proper growth of character than randomly placing her here and there :)

Italic: Yes totally agree. Her scenes only with Namit are not coming good because scenes are not written well I feel. They are coming random abrupt because I really loved her scenes with Vardhan (that machli ki ankh wala focus hehe), with Sayantani, with Mohnish and even with Rishabh loved her scenes. so makers really need to work on depth of Sid and Ishani scenes.

Underline: Promo for upcoming week look interesting so I hope editing and execution is better and not rushed. Also that they are giving thought on Ishani char/handling in better way than random scenes with Sid. Because as you said if not good even I will not watch.

acha my 1st week impression ( never heard of Sanjivani ever, came across DMG briefly in star one and sorry it made me run away😆) so this is my background.

My first week impression is makers need to work a bit on writing and editing. from rushed scenes where Ishani was introduced and especially her interactions with Sid, to prove how much she is a rule freak they gave the hyper waste bin scene with Asha. it's swaying from cases, random references to her past, her wanting to suspend Sid because of money scam to her scenes with him.

Its a mess with editing for her scenes mostly which have not much flow. (My POV at least). On paper Dr Ishani is a complex character. but execution is lacking i feel. SC is a versatile actress, so i trust her to make a difference.

But it's still the first week and Sanjivani is definitely trying to break away from the saas-bahu, wedding sagas, daayans, etc- so will give it a bit more time. Let's see if it manages to get better or worst. Fingers crossed

Ishani is an intriguing character. What’s good on paper because of the shortcomings in the writing, screenplay and editing is not properly conveyed to the viewers. Not denying there were some shortcomings in SC’s acting too initially but later on she improved.

First and foremost the repetitiveness of that ishani complaining against sid track. She got the tag of “ annoying “ for that lol. Her scenes with Mr vardhan i liked the most, and with Dr Rishab. There I could see ishani the character rather than the typical ITV formulaic random banter of leads without any substance.

As a doctor she’s over enthusiastic, eager to show her knowledge theoretically and practically, eager to prove her self as a good doctor, maybe due to her past, sometimes comes across as bit bossy too lol

I noticed that there’s increased analysis on ishani as a character and SC’s acting than other characters and actors. Maybe because of increased expectations from SC.

It’s sad to see, but then i guess she was criticised during her previous show too, as not fair enough, not thin enough, not young enough and not a heroine material etc , but she has shown her versatility and acting prowess there. So hopefully she manages to do that here too.

1stly I have a problem with her styling for the show. I don't like her hair parting in the middle. She will look better in a side parting. Though I loved her long hair more.

Coming to her character, she is a highly flawed character who needs a proper character progression and I hope the makers provide that to her. This applies to Sid too, before they jump into their love story.
