It has been such a long time since I've read a good piece that does not make Randhir a pawn or simply a jigsaw puzzle that is incomplete without Sanyukta. Your piece represents him as a person complete in himself, self assured, confident and gutsy. Gutsy and brains is what I essentially see Randhir as. And you have NAILED it here.
This was a treat to read because I do not buy the things I see onscreen and your portrayal of Randhir is more believeable, rational and true to reality.
Yes there is a fine line between knowing self esteem and egoism but the RD in this piece is perfectly balanced as far as it goes. He knows his worth, proves it and recognises people for what they are. What they are like.
And then he takes the logical decision of leaving them to their own devices.
