Two hours later, Randhir sat on his bed fiddling with his Rubik cube, smiling thoughtfully as he remembered how turn by turn each of the Dream Team members had come to request him to come back to the team...after he had refused to return even when their mentor Abhay Ranawat had asked him to...
Convincing Abhay Ranawat , his worth, had been hard for Randhir, but not that hard also...infact he had enjoyed this challenge...the challenge actually made him use his genius mind in ways he had never fathomed he could, and that was the reason why he almost made a near perfect replica of the Dream Team car all alone...off course there were flaws in the design...but he was working on it to perfect it...his brilliant plan of proving that he alone was equal to the entire Dream Team put together was revealed when Abhay Ranawat had got a call from one of the Dream Team organizers...He was the person to whom Randhir had approached with his own blue print and a prototype of the Dream Team Car...Ranawat had called Randhir to his cabin, and on questioning him, Randhir told him the truth...he impressed Ranawat with his minute technical details about his solo project and his innovative ideas...Ranawat was convinced that the Randhir who always strived to make himself better than before, that Randhir whose mind worked in ways no one could ever imagine"is back... Ranawat thus, asked him to re-join the team but on a condition that he would allow every member of the Dream Team to contribute individually...
Randhir just smiled at him, and nodded his head in agreement...he then replied " Sir, I am happy that you have reconsidered me to be a part of the team...that I have been able to prove my worth to you...but in these past few days what I have learned alone, was something I could not do in all these years...i have also learned one thing...my worth cannot be measured by whether I am a part of any team or not...whether I win any competition or not...I am worthy only when I can contribute something, which can have an impact over people , on someone, or something...something which will bring about a change...may be revolutionize...I am glad I was a part of the Dream Team once...and I am happy that I have been able to convince you that I am worthy enough to gain back my place back in the Team...but I have realised that being a part of this Team is not my dream anymore...i just wanted to prove my worth and I am happy that I have proved it...may be working alone will give me the satisfaction, I never got before...may be I am wrong...may be I am being selfish...but this time I want to choose this path...i will repent if I have to...but then again maybe I will revel in my decision...so thank you sir...but I am letting this opportunity pass..."
Ranawat listened to all that Randhir had to say...he just smiled at him and said..." I won't stop you from taking your decision...but please do give a second thought..."
Randhir nodded at him and left the cabin...
As the Dream Team got to know about Randhir's refusal to come back to the team...they began to form their own judgements...for Vidushi , it was Randhir's selfishness, his arrogance that stopped him from coming...for Parth , it was because Randhir wanted the Dream Team to suffer and it was a part of his revengeful plan sabotage the team...for Sahil and Yoyo, it was because Randhir was plain upset for being ignored by the rest of the team for so long...for Sanyukta, it was because he was a loner, and maybe he was still upset for having been ousted from the team in the first place...but she had an inkling that Randhir's reasons were far more deep...
Randhir looked up from his Rubik cube when he heard the soft voice of Sanyukta calling him...
"Randhir, please come back to the team...we need you...the team is falling apart...we have intelligence, hard work, brains, tactics...everything...but we need that touch , that only you possess...the mind of a genius...I am sorry...if you feel that we have tried to make you feel small...inconsequential...unworthy ...for you are not...you never were...we always knew your value..."
Randhir just smiled at her and made her sit down beside him...taking her hand in his , he said.. "I know you mean well...out of everyone, I trust you...I believe you , that you never doubted my capability or my worth...but please understand and make them understand...its time to work without me...to work without "the mind of a genius" as you said...call it my arrogance, my selfishness, my stupidity...but that's the way it is...sometimes we all have to sacrifice something...i am asking you all to sacrifice me..."
As he was saying all these the whole Dream Team came into the room...
He looked at each of their faces, he knew that may be he has snatched away their dreams...for they depended on him, to fulfill their dreams...but he felt tired...tired of letting everyone exploit him...his mind...his brilliance...his prowess...he felt tired of letting others bask in his glory...he felt tired...just tired... it was time to let the others prove their worth...to let them work their own way to fulfill their own dreams ...sans him...
