Chapter 1

[ Sanyukta sat in a doctor's office with an oxygen tube in her nostrils]
Late in the Winter of my seventeenth year, maa decided that I was depressed.
Maa was talking to the doctor.
Maa: She eats like a bird. She barely leaves the house. She watches T.V. all day. She has no friends. She is depressed
" I am not depressed, Mom." I speak softly. Maa again continues to prove I am depressed.
Maa: She's reading the same book over and over. And then the doctor concludes.
Doctor: She's depressed.
" I'm not depressed!" I yell to prove it.

Maa and doctor kept talking and I am in my own world.

The booklets and the web sites always list depression as a side effect of cancer. Depression's not a side effect of cancer, it's a side effect of dying. Which is what was happening to me.

The doctor suggested me to go to a support group so that I can make friends because they think I am depressed and depression is a side effect of cancer.

Maa brought me back home and I lay on my queen sized bed( king sized is so mainstream) and took out my favourite book An Imperial Affliction(A/N it is just an imaginary book used in the movie and book) with Philip on my side. Oh I forgot to introduce you to Philip, Philip is my oxygen tank so that I can survive in this world. After reading for long I switch my room lights off and went off to sleep.

That's all ... I know it is a short update... I will post the next part tomorrow as tomorrow is a holiday in school because of the earthquake. Plz tell me did you like it or not?
