He was returning to the hostel, late night. While walking through the corridors, just one thought occupied his mind.
Why was Sanyukta getting close to that Parth !
Why was Sanyukta getting so idiotically driven towarda that Parth !
"Hell... Why the hell am I thinking all this !" He yelled as his voice echoed in the empty corridor.
He continued walking, all the while mentally cursing Parth for making him this concerned about her.
While crossing the 'Mechanics Lab', he heard mild whispers coming from inside. His instinct suggested him to check, who was up this late, and that too was sitting in the lab with lights off.
He gently slid the door, making sure that he didn't make any noise at all.
In the corner of the lab, he saw a beautiful face - illuminated in the darkness due to the light falling on it from the laptop kept just opposite. He couldn't help but smile, seeing her grin foolishly at something from her laptop. He noticed that she had her ear-plugs on, and her gestures suggested that she was video conferencing wth someone. He grew suspicious. Who was up, this late to chat with her? He wondered.
Looking around, he ensured that there wasn't anyone else. Anyone? Who was he kidding! He just wanted to make sure that she wasn't spending a quality time with Parth, over a mid-night movie! Shrugging his thoughts off, he decided to leave her alone. After all, she woudn't at all have been pleased by his presence! So it was better to let her be at peace.
As he was retracing his steps, something caught him. He felt a shadow approach her from behind. Due to the abundant concern he'd started harbouring for her, he came in, and crouched near a table to observe. He didn't want to be caught, if it was someone acceptable. But, he could not risk her safety, at all !
He could make out that it was a boy.
"Gaya na?" That familiar manly voice, with that ever-calm tone spoke.
"Haan gaya!" She responded with a chuckle.
Randhir couldn't believe what he was witnessing. So, Sanyukta and Parth were actually spending a quality time together! And that too, by intentionally hiding it from him! His blood was boiling with rage.
He stood up, and was about to yell, when...
Sanyukta's hands were on his neck. Parth's hands held her waist. They were smiling - looking into each other's eyes. In no time the distance between them minimised, and their lips met.
Randhir felt as if all this was his imagination. He wanted to pinch himself to ensure, but his mind was just too shocked for anything! He simply stared at the wierd scene, with open mouth.
And next what happened made him loose all his temper.
They parted, panting for air. Between her heavs, she whispered, "I love you, Parth..."
"SANYUKTA!!" He yelled with all his might.
"Randhir bhai... Kya hua? Aap thik ho na?" A concerned Jiggy patted his shoulder.
Opening his eyes, he realised that it was a nightmare. Just a - NIGHTMARE!
He sat up, looked around in his room and sighed with relief. He gave an assuring nod to Jiggy, and he too sighed with relief.
"Aapne to mujhe dara hi diya tha, Randnir bhai..." He murmured, pulled up his covers and slept.
He glanced over his watch. It was half past 2, in the night. He looked over to Parth's table. He wasn't there. Getting a bit tensed, he tried to figure out of he laid on the bed, or the covers were making that figure.
"Main yahin hun, Randhir..." A voice came, as Parth slid the cover off his face and smiled at him.
"Huh!" Randhir couldn't understand how did he come to know about what he was wondering.
"By the way, tumhe kabse Sanyukta ke sapne aane lage?" He asked slyly. Making more of a statement, than a question.
Randhir couldn't believe that he was in such an absurd frenzy, that he couldn't make himself respond! His mind pondered over only one thing - why was 'she' mattering to him such a lot? He thought about his dream-correction-nightmare, and wondered why did he see such a wierd thing.
He groaned in frustration.
This Sanyukta Agarwal was changing him into something, he never was.
A confused soul! And there was nothing he seemed to be able to do, to control this...
One thing he knew was a crucial and important step towards this - figuring out the reason behind the turmoil going on in his head.
But, did he not know it? Already?
