I thought the rose scene happened first. Then Meera comes with the bouquet. Then the party and then I'm presuming it's the dinner.

Even in the bouquet scene, you can see Urmila and Vidya's awkward faces. They're clearly seeing what we are seeing, that Meera is steeping out of her boundary and it could end badly.
