Yeah, she did. That is why I don't want her to take Vidya away again. If she wants to leave, that is fine, but I don't think she should put Vidya in a position of being forced to choose between both parents, that's all.

I don't think it's wrong to use that phrase in a normal context, but here Gopi was talking about leaving the Modi house again with Vidya. In that context, I found it to be unfair.

RKJ, that is not in her hands now, is it? Ahem insists on divorce and a remarriage on the same day😲🥱 (Something that will never ever happen but you know this is serial land)
He does not want her around. Even if Gopi wants to stay, she cannot and Vidya will not have her entire family. That is upto Ahem

Yeah I know. Trust me, I do feel for Gopi but I feel sorry for Vidya the most. I think she has suffered more than anyone else in this whole track. I just feel bad that she must choose between her mother and father after getting a taste of the family life she'd craved for so long. She will choose Gopi because Gopi raised her and she won't want to leave her mother, but she will never be truly happy if she leaves with Gopi, because she will still miss her father, and most of all her cousins, Hetal, and even Rashi Maasi.

In any divorce/separation, the child suffers the most Vidya is suffering but she will suffer more if Ahem keeps doing what he is doing. She will suffer irrespective of whether she is with him or not.

The one think I felt today was that Gopi's decision to go away was further confirmed because of what Vidya said about her father. She was starting to feel that he does not love her. That is something Gopi has managed to avoid her from feeling till today.

It was good that Gopi cut short Vidya from thinking about Ahem that way but if Ahem goes ahead with the marriage in front of VIdya, she will feel more isolated. It is better that she thinks of him as the loving dad like before.

Poor Vidya. This little girl wanted to live with her family and be happy but the only people who really love this child are Gopi, Rashi and Vidya's cousins.
If the Modis especially Kokia and Ahem love Vidya they would have not treated Gopi bad.
Gopi has taken all their mental torture and abuse in silence so it is time for her to leave with Vidya.
Vidya has met all her relative except for Gopi's father and Kokila's father.

Why should Gopi leave Vidya with Ahem? His character is actually abusive towards Gopi. He has no patience with her, he has no respect for her, he screams at her in front of his entire family while she stands there doing nothing.
Gopi returned to MM and gave him the opportunity to not just be a father but also be a husband but Ahem chooses to divorce her and separate their family.

In any kind of reality, this type of a man should never be responsible for a child.

Sorry, but I can't agree with you. If Ahem is angry with Gopi, she brought it upon herself by keeping their child a secret from him for eight years. Any parent would be enraged after finding that out. Of course Ahem is acting irrational, but is Gopi completely innocent? NO.

Also, just because a couple has arguments and fights doesn't make them bad parents. Being a spouse and being a parent is completely independent of each other. I've seen such people in real life, who are bad spouses but amazing parents. So Gopi has no right to take Vidya away from Ahem. If she wants Vidya, so does Ahem. The only way they both can have her is either by staying together, or going to the court for joint custody. But NEITHER of them has the right to take Vidya away from the other.

You raise some excellent points in your post. Sadly, the home environment is becoming so toxic that even with the best intentions of both Ahem and Gopi their daughter is suffering. I don't doubt both are excellent parents but unless Ahem takes a step back and look at what his behavior is doing to his daughter and change quickly, he may lose them both. Gopi also has to correct some of her actions. Did she ever plan on letting Ahem know he had another child? It's not fair to do that to a parent. How could she deny him of his child, esp after he lost one?
