How are you preparing for your first ever reality show?
I'm working extremely hard for both my shows - Saathiya and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa . After pack up from the sets of my daily soap, I report to the Jhalak house for rehearsals. Some days I rehearse for an hour, some days for four hours and then then there are days when I don't get time to rehearse at all.
Is shuttling between the shows taking a toll on your health? It did take a toll on my health initially. My sleeping hours have reduced but I've got used to it now.
Are you a trained dancer?
No; I'm not a great dancer either but I'm working hard.
Your favourite Bollywood dancer?
Madhuri Dixit , and I'll try my best to impress her.
Were you offered JDJ after your recent hookah raid controversy?
Not at all. I was offered Jhalak lastyear also. However, I refused because of my inhibitions about dancing. But this time, I grabbed the opportunity. One should break monotony, and try something new and exciting. This show will give me an opportunity to transform into a dancer.
Is it true that the channel on which your daily soap is aired and the production house weren't too keen on relieving you for Jhalak?
Not really. It's just a rumour. As of now, I am happily doing both the shows.
How significant has Saathiya been for your career?
Saathiya and my hard work have made me what I am today and both these factors have got me Jhalak. Saathiya was always my first priority and will always be. I have to say that I've been able to manage my responsibilities towards both the shows so far. Saathiya is the root, Jhalak is my fruit. And I am happy that I am doing justice to both of them.
