PART ONE Anita's marriage had been called off. She was residing with the Modis in their house, her presence was giving GoHem a real tough time. many encounters between Anita & Ahem took place and were witnessed by Gopi. Rashi left stone untrurned to make use of the oppourtunity & kept feeding gopi's brain saying that ahem was still in love with his past and hadnt move on and his relation with Gopi was nothing more then a burdern and kept it going on with it for his mom's sake, recollecting the encounters between Ahem and Anita, gopi believed blindly to whatever Rashi said. On the other hand, Rashi was all enjoying the uncomfotable scenario between Anita & GoHem. Days had passed, slowly Ahem noticed that, Gopi's presence around him was nearing to negligiable. He would hardly get to see her. Though, see continued to do every work associated with to him, but avoided him. He couldnt understand the reason behind it, and kept missing everything about Gopi her sweet voice, her smile, the twinkle in her eyes, her way of calling him Ahemjii and so on. The encounters with Anita, which he have accidentally made him feel guilty of his deeds and avoided her. Finally, he decided to, take the matters in his own hand and sort out all the issues with Anita and Gopi. One day, Ahem returned back from his office and directly headed to the kitchen and finally he saw Gopi, right in front of his eyes and couldnt take his eyes off her. she too gazed in his eyes and looked down. Ahem said "gopi, get my green tea to the room, please" "jii ahemjii" she ans's back and he leaves giving her a smile. Gopi looks out for Mithi, but she already busy with some work, so gopi had no choice , but to take the cup herself. She goes to the room and gives the tea to ahem and turns to leave without saying a word, ahem stops her by saying "Gopi, the Green Tea is very tasty" she tilts her head sideways slightly and says "Thank You" "My pleasure" he quips back, this brings a small but a cute smile on her face along with the memories associated with it. she starts walking, he again calls out "what is it gopi?? why going out so hastely??" she turns around says "jiii... there is some work in the kitchen and the dinner will be ready shortly. Once it ready Il come (pauses) i meant.. il send a messsage with mithiben" he looks straight in her eyes and says "gopii.. i wouldnt mind at all if you come and call me" gopi just nods a yes and leaves, before he could question her any further. it was then, when he realised thta he had to talk to Anita asap. Post the dinner, ahem is in the terrace thinking about how to talk to Anita, but he knew he had too, because he couldnt tolerate the ignorance from gopi. With these thoughts he was strolling thats when Anita comes, they are shocked to each other and there is an uncomfortable silence between them, Anita realises Ahem's uncomfortness and was about to leave, when ahem calls her "uummm... Anitaaa... good your here, i.. anyways wanted to talk to you" hearing this she turns around and says "what is it ahem??" "ummm.. can we sit and talk, please" he says in a requestive tone, anita nods a yes and sits opposite to ahem. "anitaa.. i... (pauses and sighs) am really sorry for everythign that i have done to you" "its ok, ahem.. whatever happened was a past and mb was destined to happen.. so dont be sorry" she tried to explain him. "noo, anitaaa.. am really sooryyy"he said again "i said naa, it ok" she repaeted. There was silence between them agin, breaking ti anita said "you wanted to talk to me about somethign right, what is it??" "haaa... wohhh... (he gets up and turns around) i am sorry anitaa, inspite of loving you, i couldnt marry you. i have broken your heart, and sorry just doesnt seems to be the apt thing for it. " she gets up and wlaks to ahem, placing her hand on his shoulder, she says "ahem, why are we going to the past again???" "its important anita, because this guilt is killing me, i have to confront it, please let me do it" he expalined "hmmm.. go ahead then ahem, am listening" anita says. "you always knew that, i cannot go against my mother's wish, so inspite of being in love with you, i agreed to marry gopi as i had left with no option."he said, "ahem you know, when you love someone dearly, you should set them free as a bird, if they return back to you, then ther are truly yours, and if they dont then, they were never yours (pause and sighs) remember, when you told about me your marriage, i did the same thing with you, i setted you free but hoped that, one day you'l return back to me, i waited but you never returned to me. it was then i realised that you were never mine. (pause) ahem, i dont know what we shared, whether it wsa love or infatutaion which we thoguht was love, but what ever it was, it was the best thing that has ever happened to me" she said with a sad smile on her face. Ahem reamined silent, absorbing what ever anita told him, after awhile he said "anitaaa.. please forgive mee.. (turns and takes her hand in his) pleaseee forgive meee... i never wanted to hurt youuu.. i.." he was cut off by anita saying "ahemm... whatever happened between us is a past, and in our today, it has no much importance... it was all destined, neither of us were at fault.. so why sulk over it?? (pauses) neither of us can change the past, right??" she told him. "hmmm.." is the only response ahem gives her. Breaking the silence anita says "ahem, can i say something??" "say" he responds back. "ahemm, gopip is a very nice girl. Initially, i used to feel she that was the culprit fro tearing us apart, but after staying here along with her i realised how wrong i was. inspite of knowing who i am.. she kept looking after me, like a sister. I am glad ahem you married her" this surprised ahem and he smiles. Anita gets into a little teasing mood and says "soo.. Mr. Ahem modi, when are you going to confess your feelings to her??" he gets surprised nad says "what?? what are you saying?? i dont understand, what exactly are you saying" and looks away blusing. This makes anita giggle and she says "stop behaving like a teenager, will you?? you know what, its written on your face how much you love her, so why arent you confessing it to her??" he blushes mor like a newly wedded groom, she gets a little annoyed and says "ahem stop blushing and tell me, why havent you confessed it to her as yet??" ahem turns around, not facing anita nad says "because my own guilt doesnt allow me to do it" "ahem, what happened??? did anything serious happened between you'l??? ummm... if you want, you share it, with mee, may be il helpp sorting it out" she says getting serious.
