Todays posts like 'Samarpan' once again triggered the writer in me. So wait for a short OS soon.
Prologue:
"We became one"...Ahem thought. A warm feeling crept through his heart and his lips curled into a smile. Suddenly, his hands started to get colder remembering Gopi's behaviour with him in recent days. He was seeing a kind of pain in her eyes these days. Ahem's heart stopped a second at this realization.
Part I: Shattered Hopes:
Gopi could not take eyes of her Ahemji during dinner. A year and half earlier, she knows nothing about this man, her husband. All she saw was his wrath and hatred. She came to know that he is a person who is straight to the point and truthful. He never gave her false hopes when he hated her. That was past. She now knows a man, her husband who is gentle, caring and loving. She saw him making her comfortable around him. She saw his growing love towards her. Finally, She now knows his smell and his touch. This brought a sense of fullfillment to her being. He is Hers now. Their union brought a whole different meaning to her existence and their relationship. She was all shy with her thoughts when Ahem observed her from the corner of his eye. He is bewildered and the same time amused to see his beautiful wife who is behaving extra shy with him. He gave her a "questioning look" which turned her more red and she flew to kitchen. "This girl is going to give me a serious trouble when we make out." Ahem is trying hard to break his barreiers and express his love to her. He thought Holi was the right moment but somehow he got sick suddently and could not execute his plans. He is now determined to plan something in next few days to tell her that he cannot live without her. "This anticipation is going to kill me. But before that I need to make her more comfortable with me. I dont want her running away from me when I give her the first kiss". Ahem said to himself.
Gopi finished her dinner, cleaned up everything and the anticipation of going to their room is making her restless. She is scared out of shyness and extremelly uncomfortable to face her ahemji. She walked slowly and entered the room to find Ahem on Sofa. He has a prickling sensation near his neck below color bone while taking bath today. There was a scratch. He took this as an excuse to make gopi come near to him. immediately after gopi entered their room, he asked her to come and see what happened to his neck. Gopi all shy went to him and pulled kurtha's collar down without any hesitation and saw that scratch. she immediately remembered it to be because of her broken bangle. She smiled to herself. All the while, Ahem is quite surprised at her comfort with him for the first time. she touched him without any hesitation. he is happy at her gesture. Gopi was about to place a kiss on the scratch when Ahem asked "Gopi, by the way how did you enjoy Holi today. You know I thought of coloring you but dont know somehow I could not. I dont remember exactly what I did today. I had a bad headache and see now I dont remember anything. But truly Gopi, I wanted to color you and I wished to have colored by you." Saying that he smiled at Gopi. Gopi could not believe her ears. The smile faded away from her lips. Did he say he did not color me. Did he say he does not remember anything. ANYTHING. All her hopes crumbled at once. The beautiful day that she had only in her dreams seemed like a nightmare now. She took off her hands suddenly from his neck and backed off. Ahem could not understand her reaction and asked her what happened. She just said she is tired and went off to bed. Ahem all perplexed went to his sofa. Gopi turned away from Ahem while she layed down which is normally against the position how they sleep. These days she always sleeps facing him and him facing her.
She could not sleep the whole night. There are several questions raising in her mind. Should I tell him what happened between us? will he regret? Why will he regret? he loves me. May be not!! She is scared to harbour a thought that he does not love her yet. No, he loves me but does he think that I have used him for my benefit? But, how could I do that? How could I make him forget something that he started? Was he not in senses when he was with me? No he seemed to be like in senses. Then, why doesnt he remember? Yes, there was sudden change in his behavious this morning. Ahemji was trying to color me but could not. All of a sudden he started dancing, coloring and he was high in his emotions. When did this happen? Laddoo..OMG. Did my ahemji ate the bhaang laddoo. That might be the only way he could do all these. Tears rolled in her eyes. so, ahem made love to her under intoxication. This thought broke her heart into pieces. HE will definitely regret if I tell him what happened. Kanahji, why are you testing me like this. Why did you put me in the situation where I could not tell my husband what happened between us. No, I will not tell him what happened between us and make him unhappy. Now that our relationship is growing, I should not do any stupid thing that hurts him. What if ahemji still considers me as his friend. THese thouhgts are tearing her heart into pieces. She does not want to see the next day. She wanted to live this day forever as she lost hope of seeing this day in future again.
