From the moment Jigar pointed Gopi to Ahem, his eyes just followed her...he ensured he was always close by & observing her. The moment he observed she was having a problem with the matchbox, he immediately realised the opportunity to be with her & walked towards her !!! He was just about to touch her & let her know that he was there & would take care of the problem. But as he was about to touch her, he hesitated...His heart has moved so close to her that it feels right to touch her but he still hesitated , Did he hesitate because he still does not know what she feels about about him & their relationship? Did he feel it was not right to touch her as they still need to express what they feel for each other...One thing is for sure he immensly respects her & until she gives her permission he will never force his ideas or himself on her !!!
He called her name to let her know that he was beside her . He settled himself comfortably next to her & asked her to give him the matchbox. As she rejected his help & said she would do it, he did not listen to her. He just told her firmly to give him the matchbox...he did not let go of the opportunity to help her & be with her. In the past before kinjle's wedding, after the robber attacked Gopi he offered to apply ointment to her wounds she rejected his help & he left the place. Today he stayed back with her. He enjoys being with her & helping her, let it be something as small as lighting the diya's. Did the diya remind them of the diwali time where similar to today he helped her light the diyas. As they lit the diya they were close to each other & their fingers touched, both were aware of each other as they were effected by their physical closeness. Ahem observed that she was effected by their closeness as much as he was effected. As his mom called out, both were pulled out from their world & had to actually look down at the diya to realise where they were.
As Gopi observed Ahem was troubled with the dust in his eye, she could not hold herself back & asked him. As he answered her & saw him being troubled further, she offered if she could take care of it. It suprised him at her offer but also observed she was hesitant to touch him & neither agreed or disagreed to her offer. He let her decide & she hesitantly touched him. As she cleaned & blowed into his eye, he was mesmarised by her beauty & closeness. He was lost in her similar to all the other times in the past when she took care of his wounds.
From the time Ahem could not stand Gopi to clean his wounds when he hit Umang, to the time he was ok when she took care of his wounds when he was hurt during the cable incident, to now where he feels comfortable that she is there taking care of him, he has come thru a long journey. Similarly Gopi has seen her husband not wanting her to touch him, to he being fine & showing her his wounds during the cable incident & now she is unable to hold her love & concern for him & is ready to take care of him out of her own choice.
Both of them have reached a stage of being comfortable in touching each other & taking care of one another but are still hesitant as both are not sure of the other partner's feelings. Who will be the one to express his or her feelings to the other. All thru it is very clear that as much Ahem loves Gopi, he respects her more than that & in their relationship he will love her, respect her, care for her, nuture her & protect her. He will never do anything which will hurt her or will be against her decision.
Just an observation, If you observe the arthi being given by all the couples you observe that the husband holds it & the wife holds / touches her husband's hand...but in case of Gohem, Gopi holds the arathi & Ahem holds her hand & the arathi plate.
