gopi wakes up "maaa... maaa..maaa" the scream is getting louder and louder with each time she is calling...gayathri comes running to gopi's room which is in fact their own room..."Good Morning Gopi beta...why are you screaming on top of your voice...is that a way you scream." saying so comes and sits near gopi and stroking her ankle gently with her fingers ... " ouch maa...it hurts" whined gopi...Gayathri leaves her ankle and holds on to gopi's hands,."gopi now it is ok if you scream or wake up late or be lazy once in a while, but after you get married ...what will your in-laws say beta so please..."
gopi instantly releases her hands from her maa's hands and joins them in the form of prayer and bends her head down touching her hands and says """maa please.please please..don't start again... please maa...look maa i am hurt" said gopi raising her head off her hands...and still pointing her finger towards her ankle, with a cute pout and continued further..."and maa please I don't want to get married...and leave my pappa...because i love my pappa and he is the best.." said gopi with a pride shining in her eyes.. "hey baghwan '.pappa pappa pappa...Ahem is right in calling you a parrot.. you are a parrot " said her maa getting off the bed...
gopi's head snapped hearing Ahem's name...with a small smile on her lips...and then continued with a little pout and little mock anger "Maa how can you join Ahem and call me parrot, am i not your sweet, innocent gopi ." her maa gave upon her antics... "now enough of these dramas... these days you are putting up acts for every little thing...get down and freshen up " and held her hand for gopi ...gopi with her maa's help got down and walked to the restroom...to freshen up...

"Jigar did you go for the jog today" "yes bhai, but why " said jigar who is seated by Ahem's side ready to have their breakfast..."why don't you wake me up from tomorrow, never gone for a jog and workout since i came here" and bends to his left towards jigar as if to tell a secret.. "and with mom and kaki's food, i have already put on some weight "
"Ahem dikra, jigar what's going on" asked koki getting some other items for breakfast "kuch nahi kaki woh Ahem bhai wants me to join for a jog" said jigar starting on with the breakfast "Ahem first stop watching those cricket matches till late-night only then will you be able to wake up early for a jog " said kokila serving his black tea. Ahem just gave a not again look to his mom and started off with his breakfast.
After breakfast all men leave for work and kinjal goes to her college...
.and now and with her mom's help Gopi got ready and came to the breakfast nook to join her pappa for breakfast... "Good Morning Pari beta" :Good Morning Pappa " her pappa pulls the chair and make her comfortably seated in the chair "How is my pari beta doing... how is the pain beta" asked her pappa placing his hand on her head" gopi took her pappa's hand in her's and started " pappa the pain is still there ' i am still not able to put my feet down" "aww my beta... jaanu...why don't you give her the hot pack with rock salt which baa said" said Aadarsh sipping his tea.gayathri glares at him and gopi lets out a smile with a wink at her dad..and her dad smiles back at her with a wink... " ji i got that pack ready, after she is done with the breakfast i will wrap the pack around her ankle " said gayathri serving breakfast for gopi and herself.
They finish off with their breakfast. Aadarsh takes his bag... and kiss gopi on top of her head "beta don't move around..just stay at one place... and take care of yourself ..ok " "okk pappa, bye pappa..love u .. miss u" said gopi with a brilliant smile on her face...gayathri just shakes her head and leaves a sigh as if to indicate that this is their daily routine "bye jaan" said Aadarsh with a smile and wink to his wife "ji... just drive carefully... bye..take care" said gayathri with her beautiful smile, just like gopi's...
Gopi's features have a close resemblance to her mom ..the smile.. the big brown eyes...everything resembles her mom... "ok jaan ...bye... i will call you once i reach the work place" said Aadarsh walking towards the elevators '.and gayathri came in locking the main door behind her .
"Beta come get up ..let me walk you to the couch " her maa helped gopi to the couch...made her sit comfortably "wait a minute beta, i will get the heat pack of rock salt" said gayathri walking to the other side of the living room where there is an open kitchen.
Gayathri came back and applied the pack on gopi's ankle "aaahhh maa it's hot" "gopiii i have checked it before getting it here and it's warm and not hot as you say ...okk... now let me wrap this" slowly started to wrap around her ankle while gopi is watching her maa with pleading looks to not wrap the hot pack..."beta do you need something to keep you busy or will you take rest for sometime " asked gayathri still clearing up the breakfast items from the dinning table
"No maa...i don't want to rest...maa can you please give me my economics books , at least this way i can read some for the upcoming exams" said gopi sitting on the couch...her maa went into gopi's room, upstairs came with her books...writing pad and a pen.. gave the books to gopi and went to the kitchen to prepare lunch..'
."tring tring... tring tring" '. "'hello" "jaan i have reached here, what is my pari beta doing" "maaa is that pappa " "yes beta " said gayathri looking at gopi and then towards the cordless phone, "do you need something beta" ... "nothing maa...love you pappa" she screamed on top of her lungs so that her pappa could hear through the phone...her maa shaked her head to shrug off the extra noise pollution...her pappa just moved away the receiver from the ear to soften the reverberating sound of his daughter through the phone...and smiled... gayathri continued on the phone "ji she is doing fine ad she is preparing for the upcoming exams.. and you take care and have lunch on time bye " said gayathri with a smile "bye jaan" said Aadarsh and hung up the receiver on the land line phone on his office desk
"May I come sir" "yes come in" said Aadarsh, his current personal assistant, Ajay Mathur, with a bunch of files in his both hands opened the glass door by leaning on the it with his side to push open it .Ajay Mathur, was previously PA to Vikram Kapoor, in whose place Aadarsh is working as an Auditor for the Planet Bank. "Ajay did you check the servers? did you find the soft copies? "No sir i could not find any copies on the server " said Ajay who placed the bunch of files on the glass table in front of Aadarsh.
"Did you call Vikram what is he saying about the audit reports of the Planet Bank" said Aadarsh, expecting an answer from Ajay. "Sir I tried calling his cell phone, it is switched off. when i tried calling their home they said that Vikram sir has gone to Aurangabad to visit his family" "why don't you take the number from their family and call Aurangabad" said Aadarsh pacing the room with his left palm wiping the sweat off his forehead "Sir I am not able to get through the call with the number i have " said Ajay with a terrified look, seeing his boss in a terrific mood..
"What the hell is going on ...We don't have any thing to start off with... looks like we need to start off the auditing from scratch like checking the ledger books.. but we do not have that much time .. as we have to submit the report in 3 months time...do you get it" screamed Aadarsh slamming a file on the table, which he previously picked up to check for any important information regarding Planet Bank.
"Ajay do you know anything about it..you were on the team with Vikram right" asked Aadarsh still thinking "No sir we were just assigned an individual department in the bank to check the accounts.. but we submitted all our findings to Vikram sir and in the end he was preparing the final audit report by himself sir" said Ajay who is now seated in a chair across Aadarsh
. "Ok..do one thing get a team of 5 people ready to work with us for the next 3 months until the report is submitted to the CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General of India) . the team should be efficient and even work round the clock if possible" said Aadarsh making note of things to be done on a post-it and stick it to the LCD monitor sitting on his glass table.
A small smile and relief spread across his face seeing the picture on the table which has a sweet and brilliantly smiling gopi bending over and resting her head over her maa's shoulders towards the right side ...Gayathri also has an equally brilliant smile as gopi. Aadarsh still smiling at the picture and got back to work..

the door bell rings @MM, Meethi runs to open the door, kokila standing behind Meethi. "Hi mom" koki glares at him "sorry mom... Jai Shree Krishna Mom" followed by Jigar, Chirag and Parag. they all look tired after the long day at work..and moved towards the couches."Meethi go and get tea for everyone and black tea for Ahem" Meethi runs to the kitchen in her usual speed to get the tea and snacks. By now hetal has joined the family while Meethi came back with tea and snacks. All are having tea and snacks and chatting on the days events
"Jigar do you want to come to Mehta uncle's house" asked Ahem, "Why Ahem" asked kokila "Mom woh ...gopi is hurt...so i thought of just visiting her" said Ahem feeling guilty about how he was the reason for her ankle twist and how she saved him from his mom. "Sorry bhai, i have some work which need to be mailed to the client by tonight.. need to work on it" said Jigar getting up from the couch walking towards the stairs.
"Mom can kinjal accompany me.." asked Ahem facing kokila... "Nahin dikra she has some exams next week, she said not to disturb her until dinner" said kokila.. Ahem let out a sigh.."ok then i will go alone " and got up from the couch and walked towards the stairs...
After few minutes Ahem came down in his tee shirt and cargo pants. looking all fresh after a relaxed shower... ok mom i will be back in a couple of hours and bid bye to the family members present in the living room.

"bye dad see you soon" gopi said bye to her dad who came back from work, had his tea and snacks and is now going to the YMCA to play tennis with his friends, "bye beta take care" Aadarsh left towards the elevator..
"Gopi beta it's already 6:15 and i need to attend the residents meeting at 6:30 in our apartment complex" "maa you go,... i will manage" "but beta how can you manage alone, why don't you call your friends smitha and payal to stay with you for sometime" "haan maa i will do that"saying so she dialled the number and the call is in the process of connecting, the door bell rings,
gayathri goes to open the door, here the fist ring went through the phone...when she heard "Hi Aunty,,," she cut the call and turned her head towards the door and she just is staring at him standing near the door."Hi Ahem beta, please come in" said gayathri with a smile and moving aside to let him in.
Ahem came in holding a white rose bouquet in his hands. "How are you aunty? and how is the parrot doing" asked Ahem walking in..."We are fine beta and..yeah she is better than yesterday... and you know her ...how she puts up acts for every little thing." said gayathri taking her purse from the counter top..
Ahem came inside and started to look around the home, remembering those days when he used to come here before he went to America..."Ahem beta, i have to attend the residents meeting in the community hall, can you please stay here for sometime with gopi till their friends come over and please make yourself comfortable...there are some snacks over there and the coffee machine is right here" showed gayathri pointing towards the snacks and coffee machine on the counter top.
"Yeah aunty ...you please go ahead i will manage my self " said Ahem still looking around the open kitchen and the living room..with the bouquet still in his hands... "ok Ahem ...take care... i will try to come back soon... bye betaaa " "bye maaa see you soon" said gopi in her usual loud tone... Ahem just brought both his hands to close his ears because of the scream which he just witnessed. Gayathri walked out closing the door behind her. Ahem just locked the door from inside.
Ahem comes over to the living room and gives the bouquet to gopi, "Thanks" "you are welcome" said Ahem while taking back the flowers from her hand and placed them on the coffee table...and made himself comfortable on one of the couches facing gopi at right angle to a 3 seat couch in which she is lying with her leg resting along the length of the sofa
There is awkward silence in the room both not looking at each other as this is the first time they are left alone.Neither of them knew what to talk, both are equally uncomfortable in such a situation, after what happened yesterday in Ahem's room, Gopi biting her lower lip...just looks down along her legs and startled and jumps a bit in the sitting position, realizing that she is in her knee length pajamas and tee shirt, she became more uncomfortable now... Ahem notices this and takes a throw lying on the couch and covers her legs..."Thank you" "hmm"
They were never like this, Ahem used to pull her into any topic and would argue and fight over every single item of discussion.. but being alone for the first time, after having met in an embarrassing situation in Ahem's room just a day before, both of them did'nt know what to talk and where to start.. they were sitting and avoiding all possible eye contacts
when all of a sudden her cell phone ring startles her...she checks the caller name and takes the call "hi gopi... sorry yaar .. i missed a call from you and why didn't you come to the college.. you did not even call,..what happened are you ok gopi" asked smitha all in one breath.
"Smitha ..just calm down..i am fine..just had a sprain in my ankle...that is why i could not attend the classes.." said gopi very softly this time and gave a faint smile to Ahem "What gopi.. you had a sprain in ankle...and you did not even bother to tell us...what are friends for " said Payal with a pout and little anger, who just grabbed the phone from smitha's hands... payal and smitha live in the same apartment complex and they meet quite often on a day to day basis.
"Payal.. payal..listen to me" said gopi in a softer tone "ok we are coming now to see you" "Nooo not today" gopi said with a bit louder voice .. Ahem is seeing her changing expressions and sound "no payal... not today why don't you come tomorrow" said gopi in almost inaudible tone "but why gopi?" "nothing ' i have some work today .. come tomorrow .. ok ok bye bye ...not today for sure... will call you later" and ended the call...
payal just looked bewildered at the cell phone..."what happened payal.." asked smitha "gopi just asked us not to come today .. she has some work... and she just ended a call" said payal still trying to figure out what's wrong with gopi that she asked us not to pay a visit to her "strange " said smitha...both of them looked at each other confused
Ahem has been watching her all through the phone call.. sometimes she was almost inaudible, sometimes very loud, sometimes she was confused, at other time she was shocked and screamed, he couldn't figure out anything..
few minutes later "sorry" "thank you" both said at once and both of them let out a little laugh "Thank you for the flowers" said gopi looking towards the white roses on the coffee table as she wanted to start a conversation somewhere "hmm" said Ahem with a smile "white roses" asked gopi "yes white roses... these are your favorite...right..." said Ahem raising his eyebrows "yeah and you remember that" said gopi teasingly
"of course .i remember...ohh gopi...we knew you each other since childhood and you are my best friend how can i forget what you like" took a pause and continued "remember how we used to team up against jigar and kinjal" "yeah and cheat them as well" said gopi with a beautiful smile and excitement in her big brown eyes
"Gopi ..I am sorry...and sorry ...ok ok" Ahem takes a deep breath and says "ok double sorry" "double sorry" gopi pauses and looks at him expecting an explanation."woh gopi 1 sorry for yester..'..." he is silent and...gopi understands that he is apologizing for the scene in Ahem's room. she mutters "I am also sorry for that" and bends her head down..seeking apologies for hitting him on his bare chest.."it's ok " and he further continued "and the second one is for me being the reason for ur '" pointing towards her ankle says "ankle sprain" '."it's ok... your apologies are accepted" said gopi with her eyes reflecting pride and a nice smile...
"But why did you stop me from telling mom" Ahem gets up to get a cup of coffee "Ahem you know how much kokila aunty hates this habit of yours " said gopi a bit louder so that Ahem can hear in the open kitchen at the far end. " Ahem you were even grounded for couple of days when ever you exhibited this skill of yours"
"yeah i remember that and how about some coffee for you" asked Ahem from the kitchen "yeah 'please i do need one " said Gopi..."and i would end up loosing all my summer vacation being grounded " saying so he walked across the hall with 2 coffee mugs, one in each hand ' comes near the couch and offers a cup to gopi by slightly bending...
gopi straightens up a bit, takes the coffee mug from him and smells it and shakes her head, feeling relaxed as aroma of the coffee took over her sense of smell . Ahem goes to the other sofa and makes himself comfortably seated with the coffee mug in hand ..
"Ahem do you remember kinjals' incident... Aunty was really mad at you " gopi said sipping her coffee... "yeah i remember ' that was so bad on my part." said Ahem still feeling bad about his little sister

Kinjal, Ahem, Jigar, Gopi were playing catch me if you can... when they were having their elementary school vacation.. Kinjal was running behind gopi to catch her...Ahem who is gopi's best friend and team mate in any game wanted to save gopi and he stretches his legs across and makes kinjal fall flat on her face and her eye brow hit a small rock and she cried in pain "ahhh mmaaa"
Ahem, Jigar, Gopi ran to help her and by then all elders came out running hearing kinjal's harsh cry...Kokila took kinjal in her arms and they notice her eyebrow bleeding...they took her inside cleaned the eyebrow ' the bleeding was still on... not knowing how to stop the bleeding they just apply turmeric powder on the eyebrow and take her to hospital...
The doctor sees the deep cut on the eyebrows and says "As the cut is deep... it needs to be stitched up" all members are shocked ...tears flowing down kokila's cheeks...hetal and gayathri support and console her. Ahem and Gopi are crying and worried at home along with jigar who is almost tear eyed...
The doctor comes out after the treatment..gives prescription and the details of how to take care of the affected area... They thank the doctor, take kinjal and go back home..

"Kinjal beta how did you fell" asked kokila worriedly "she was just running and fell down" "Ahem bhai put his leg across and made kinja fall " both these statements were simultaneously blurted by gopi and jigar respectively...Gopi wanted to save Ahem...Jigar wanted to do justice or rather wanted to support kinjal by saying the truth... Ahem looks at both of them... Jigar looks at Ahem and Gopi...Gopi looks at Ahem and Jigar... not knowing what to do all three stand like statues with their heads down...
"Ahem, is this your trick on your sister " asked kokila in a louder tone '"No Aunty" "Yes Kaki" again gopi and jigar blurted out simultaneously..and all three looking at each other once again..
"Ahem i want the truth" "Mom..woh .. I am '" one nice slap across Ahem's cheek when he was in class 5, his first slap from his mom...and koki said "Ahem you are grounded for 2 days..I don't want to hear a no from anyone " glared kokila across everyone in the room... Ahem held his hand to his cheek and

he now has his hand to his cheek "how can i forget the first ever slap and first time being grounded by mom" and let a laugh ' " yeah ..i still remember that day" says gopi "hmm" says Ahem... from that day each summer Ahem used to be grounded for some or the other mischief for most part of his vacation.
.Jigar, Gopi, Ahem, Sumeet, Rishi, Karan all were targets of this behavior of Ahem...some fell flat.. some were able to control from falling flat.This is how Ahem used to be a kid and this very habit...he is not trying to get rid off.
"so you don't want to get rid of that habit" said gopi looking at Ahem.. Ahem gave a cheeky smile "somehow i am not able to control that " he said sheepishly..."but sorry for the ankle incident and thank you for not telling my mom" "it's ok .. and thank you for holding me in nick of time and averting a fall on my face" said gopi giving her best smile...
"but if you really want to do something for my ankle twist then i have an offer" said gopi with self-pride in her eyes..."offer what is that " said Ahem all curiously "
"ok from now onwards you are not calling me parrot...okkk...call me gopi" said gopi with the same pride.."What the...i don't accept this" "ok i will call kokila Aunty and tell her how i got my ankle twisted" staring at him with pride and expecting an answer from him
"what non-sense...this is purely blackmailing '.now i can see things clearly... first you save me from my mom...and make me all guilty and when i say sorry ..you will make a deal... wow parrot..ouch" Ahem held his hand across his face as gopi hit him with a cushion when he blurted out parrot.
"Deal or No-deal" gopi looks confidently at Ahem and expecting an answer from him... "ok deal... black mailer... when did you learn all these things... you were not like this gopi... you changed...where is that innocent gopi who would do anything and everything for me" ...and further continues "now look you are just..blackmailing me in simple terms" said Ahem shaking his head thinking about how much gopi changed..
"Is this the only new skill set added to you or are you still going to shock me with the new gopi in you " said Ahem teasingly. Gopi just smiled at the comment and bends her head down with a smile .."Wait a second i notice something else changed in you skill set " said Ahem,...
she raised her eyebrows "what " "this blushing...smiling and bending your head down...all this new to me.. you were not like this ' you changed in these 5 years parr...(ot) gopi" "you also changed " "No gopi..i haven't and by the way calling you gopi is a bit odd isn't it" "get used to it...you will like it" said gopi with a wink
"you also changed Ahem" said gopi looking at him.."No " "Yes you look different ' you look more..." "handsome" said Ahem with a proud smile ...gopi just is in trance when he finished her line.."no ...i don't mean that' said gopi "it's ok gopi... admit it... i know every one says me that i am very handsome...don't you think so" looks at gopi expecting an answer
"yeah but.." she stops "i knew it ...even you find me handsome .. that is why you were just staring at me..." the words just trail off as he was referring to yesterday's incident in his room...Now gopi has an embarrassing look on her face and avoids meeting his eyes...
they were again in the same situation..awkward silence and ignoring any eye contacts...they are startled by a knock on the door...Ahem walks towards the door and opens it, to let gayathri inside..."how is she doing beta... did she trouble you " gayathri asked Ahem leaving her purse, and phone on the counter top.."Maa ' what is that ...am i a little kid to trouble anyone" said gopi from her place."No aunty she was just fine we were just talking about childhood days" said Ahem coming back and taking his position on the couch...
Ahem checks time..."Aunty i need go... " "Ahem have dinner and go beta" "No aunty please got to go...have some work as well" "but beta you can have dinner and go as well" "No aunty ...you don't bother " "Ahem coincidentally i made you favorite Aloo Mutter(potatoes and peas) beta, ok let me pack it for you" Ahem standing near the counter top...seeing gayathri pack Aloo Mutter for him "Aunty" "haan beta" "when is uncle coming back" "he should be hear any time now " said gayathri placing the Aloo Mutter container in a paper bag...
"Ok Aunty will see you some time soon... bye gopi ..take care" said Ahem and was about to turn "bye Ahem" said gopi loud enough to make sure he heard her
"Gopi !!!" gayathri exclaimed "you call her parrot ..all of a sudden you are calling her gopi...it sounds weired " said gayathri helping herself with a glass of water "maaa..." screamed gopi to make sure her maa is not instigating Ahem..."nothing like that aunty... " said Ahem smiling and taking leave from gopi and her maa...and goes back to MM.
Next the same routine continues in MM and Mehtas' home.. Gopi is getting better and back on her feet.. with a little bit pain...but she is comfortable to move around with out taking stairs...Gayathri attributes the fast recovery to the rock salt heat pack along side the pain killers
