All you have said not matching function, Aham doesn't buy gifts normally, he doesn't know what's suitable for what function he was considering only her personality (what I said in the post you quoted), how Aham perceives his wife that is most important here and it should tell us the change in him, he doesn't perceive her as a gold digger anymore but a glowing angel (the thick white beaded pallu).
exactly!! n i also think it is such a good thing! it clearly means he is taking an avid interest in her to by now clearly understand her true nature above the earlier image of a gold digger he thought her to be..he didn't go for over the top designer, heavy work sari for her, but went of the simple angelic thing which he perceives to be a match to her personality..i really don't care whether it mismatched with the occasion cz this clearly showed how much aham has understood his sweet n innocent wife..n also showed that he likes to keep having her innocent sweet n soft...
so i'm glad he went to this rather than a dark shaded heavy worked sari as it'll mean he never gave any personal thought to her n simply bought a gift for the heck of it..so this was a clear message that a lot of thought n care has gone in to its selection by him..
