Door bell rings and Mani opens it.

Kokila: who is it mani?

Urmila and Jitesh bhai: jai shree Krishna vevanji

Kokila: jai shree Krishna! Jitesh Bhai, you two here so early in the morning?

Jitesh bhai: yes vevanji! I have come to ask you and your family about my daughter Gopi

Kokila knew now why they were here and she could clearly see his concern. The whole modi family were now in the living room.

Jitesh: vevanji, is it true my daughter gopi is no longer living in this house? Please tell me everything. I do not want people to come telling me rubbish about my gopi and your family. Please do tell me what has happened.

Kokila: jitesh bhai, you have heard right. Gopi no longer lives here. Infact, she is no longer modi's daughter in law.

Hearing this jitesh bhai instantly had tears in his eyes and walked towards Ahem: has my Gopi done wrong? Did she not take care of your needs? She has disobeyed your orders?

In a humble tone jitesh bhai spoke. Ahem felt terrible but he did not let anyone see that.

Urmila trying to be dramatic: enough vevanji! If you had any complaints about gopi, you should have discussed with us. Not just kick her out of the house and not tell us anything at all. You know how ashamed we are in our society? We wouldn't have known if your milkman didn't tell us. Do you even realise what all everyone is saying about our gopi? …….

Jitesh: urmila please stop. Vevanji, please tell me what has my gopi done and where is my child?

Kokila: jitesh bhai….i am very embarrassed to stand infront of you and tell you that ahem and gopi have divorced and gopi has left this house for good.

Hearing this, Ahem felt as if he has been given a life sentence! Jitesh looked very shocked while urmila tried her best to hide her smile.

Jitesh: where is she? And why hasn't she come home to me?

Kokila: jitesh bhai, gopi is fine wherever she is and it is best she doesn't stay with you all. People will make her life even more miserable is she stays. I assure you that she is fine and well away from everyone here [looking towards ahem].

Jitesh: I know you are always with my gopi and no harm will come to her but vevanji, she is my daughter after all.

Hetal: jitesh bhai, I can understand your concern. We are equally concerned about her too. We are grateful that you understand us and trust us. Nothing has changed between us. Gopi is our daughter too and kokila, infact all of us wont do anything that will cause her pain.

With those words the shah's bid farewell. Urmila was however disappointed as she was not able to talk to rashi nor find out much about gopi's whereabouts. She had wanted to create a huge scene to embarrass the modi's but her plan didn't work. Back at the modi house all are again back into silence and doing their respective works.

Ahem is in his room thinking….. IV1 *did you see how hurt and humiliated gopi's mamaji looked? Poor man does not even know where her niece is and can not even help her out. And the humiliation he has to go through when the whole world taunts him, no answers. Just embarrassment and pain* IV2 *and why are you so concerned? You didn't think about all this before. When you didn't think about your family how can you think about the Shahs' and …… GOPI!!! That is why mom said she is far away from all of this. So no one will say anything to her. That means she isn't in town! And alone!*

Jigar: rashi, I am very concerned about your parents. I feel so embarrassed to even stand by their presence. I am so sorry rashi.

Rashi: jigarji, you havnt done anything wrong so don't be sorry. Infact, I should say thank you. thank you for understanding. Papa is really very tensed about gopi. I myself don't know what to say to him. Me being gopi's elder sister couldn't do anything for her jigarji. Gopi my poor nave sister must be alone.

Rashi started crying and jigar hugged her tight consoling her.

Jigar: rashi stop crying. Its not your fault. Have faith in kakiji, she knows what she is doing and gopi bhabhi must be fine. Yes alone but safe and away from this filthy environment and people.
