Hetal: Kokila, has Gopi reached safely?

Kokila: mota bhabhi, she should reach by the afternoon and ive clearly told kamla ben to call me as soon as she receives Gopi from the station.

Hetal: kokila, I know that sending gopi away was a very hard decision for you n also for me but I know that gopi will be fine.

Kokila: yes mota bhabhi, kamla ben has promised to take great care of our gopi vau and gopi vau will learn a lot from her too.

Rashi enters to call both her mother in laws for dinner. She overhead their conversation out the door and as much as she was curious to know about gopi's whereabouts, she was sure that gopi is well. All gather for tea after dinner when the phone rings. Kokila looking at the time knew exactly who it could be and without a second delay answered the phone.

Kamla ben: kokila ben, Gopi hasn't reached here!

Kokila with terrified tone: WHAT?? What are you saying kamla ben? Gopi isn't there?!!

Kamla ben: yes kokila ben, she was not even in the train! I enquired about her but she wasn't in the train. I think she got into the wrong train.

Kokila almost suffered a heart attack. She dropped the phone and sat on the floor clinging to the side table for some support. Rashi saw her and quickly ran to her aid calling the whole family after her.

Rashi: kakiji! What happened to you? are you okay?

Ahem: mom! Mom! What happened? Please say something

Hettal: kokila!

Hettal saw the phone lying next to kokila and she soon realised that it was regarding gopi

Hettal: kokila, who was it on the phone? Is gopi ok?

Kokila looked at hettal and mumbled: gopi hasn't reached there! She wasn't even in the train!

Hettal's face went pale as she too now was terrified by the millions of thoughts that brainstormed inside her. She backed against the stairs nodding her head and mumbling to herself that it wasn't possible. Rashi who had a fair idea about why hettal and kokila were behaving like this, instantly questioned: kakiji, gopi where is gopi??

Kokila: I don't know! No one knows!

Hearing that Ahem felt as if someone pulled the floor under his feet and he couldn't help but ask: where was gopi supposed to be mom? Where did you want to send her?

Kokila: I sent her to my friend kamla in Mumbai but…but…gopi…no one knows where she is.

Im so sorry to drag this FF and not reveal gopi's whereabouts. I want to build into it and make this as interesting as possible. If you guys think im dragging too much, please do let me know so I can improvise the next time. Oh and I promise that the next update will be on gopi and a long one. Till then bear along and thanks so much for reading.

PART 15

Kokila is sitting on her bed and thinking how is it even possible that Gopi hasn't reached Mumbai when she herself sat her down in the train.

*Flashback*

Kokila: Gopi vau I hope you understand why im doing this. I don't want you to feel that ive abandoned you after your divorce. I am sending you over to my friend Kamla ben, she runs a private school and she has offered to give you both education and job there. I am doing this for you so that you learn to be independent.

Gopi: yes maa ji I know. You will never do anything that will be bad for me. You are my mother, I completely trust you. I will miss you maa ji.

Both hug and kokila hands over some snacks to gopi for her travel.

Kokila: call me as soon as you reach ok. I have put down kamla ben's number and address in your purse. Be safe and goodbye

*Back to present*

Parag: kokila, if you continue to think so much you will fall sick. Theres nothing we can do now at this hour. We shall think tomorrow. Now sleep.

Its 11pm and gopi is sitting at simla station.

"I have come to simla but where will I go from here? I don't know this place and neither do I know anyone here. Kanhaji, please show me a way"

*flashback*

After kokila left, gopi was sitting and thinking what kokila said about her being independent. She knew that kokila though being a very strong woman was very soft on gopi and knew well that sooner she will come by to take gopi back home. Gopi wanted to go home but facing Ahem again was not what she wanted. He hated her very sight. She could not go back so she decided not go to Mumbai, instead, someone other than Mumbai. Just somewhere her maa ji wont find her. It will be difficult she knew but it was for the best. She had to be lost. Just then she heard from the next platform that the train to simla is leaving in 5 mins. This was her chance. She prayed to her kanhaji and moved into the next train.

*back to present*

"kanhaji, have I done the right thing? I don't know what to do next, show me the way"

Just then she heard a little girl sniffing beside her.

Gopi: hey, are you ok? What happen to you? why are you crying?

Girl: im an orphan and I was transferred from my old orphanage to this new school here. My matron had told me that someone will come to take me from the station but its been the whole day today and no one has come to get me. Its night now and I have no where to go. I have no money.

Gopi: don't cry its ok. I will help you. do you have the address of the school or any telephone number?

Girl: I don't have the telephone number but I have the address in the letter I was given by the matron.

Gopi: can I see it?

The girl nods and hands over the letter containing the address to Gopi.

Gopi: come on, ill take you to your school. whats your name?

Girl: thank you, my name is meera.

Gopi: okay meera, take your stuff, I will take you to your school.

They hold hands and walk towards the gate. Asking directions by pass byers, they finally reached the school, Saint Mary's Girls School. The gate was locked so they rang the night bell hoping for someone to come. The door opened and an old nun stood infront of them.

Nun: yes. Is there anything you want?

Gopi: hello, my name is Gopi, I have come to drop this little girl, Meera, to your school.

Nun: Meera! Meera! Ive been very worried about you. where have you been?

Meera: I was at the station, waiting, but no one came but this lady helped me by getting me here.

Nun: come inside my child. Thank you very much dear for bringing Meera here, we had a very big confusion and we thought Meera still wasn't here. So sorry for your trouble.

Gopi: its ok, its not a trouble at all. I am just happy that she is here.

Nun: you are a very nice girl, where do you live?

Gopi: ummm….i don't have anywhere to go. I have no place.

Nun: don't worry, you can spend the night here. That's the least I can do for you.

Meera was sent into the hostel and the nun took gopi to her quarters.

"kanhaji, thank you"
