Part 4

Next morning Ahem woke up late, he was up late the night before, he had waited for Gopi to come to the room, but she never showed, so he went back out to the living area to see if she was still talking to his mom.

Much to his surprise he found Gopi curled up on the couch with just a blanket. He hadn't known what to do, should he carry her to the bed or let her sleep there, what if he tried to carry her and she woke up, they would both be very uncomfortable. He decided to live her there for the night, he went back to the room and removed the blanket from the bed and carried it back out and covered her. It felt cold in there he didn't want her to get sick.

Now you are thinking Ahem.

Ahem looked over at the clock and realized it was seven already and he needed to get ready for a quick meeting first, before they go off to sightseeing, he got up and went into the bathroom to get ready.

Meanwhile Gopi was already awake and wondering what to do about breakfast, she knew Koki liked fresh fruits in the morning and what about the tea. She was pacing nervously because she didn't want to annoy Ahem by asking him, besides when she had gone in the room to get ready he had been sleeping.

She had noticed the extra blanket on her and wondered where it had come from, but then thought may be Koki had covered her after Gopi went to sleep.

But right now her dilemma is breakfast, Just then Koki came out of her room and greeted Gopi.

"Gopi vahu, Jai Shree Krishna."

Gopi turned towards Koki, bent and took her blessings, "Jai Shree Krishna maji, I was just wondering what should we do about breakfast?"

"Gopi vahu , don't worry about that right now, why don't you see if Ahem is ready, then he can tell us where we should eat breakfast."

"Maji, I…….I don't think I should bother him, we should just wait for him."

Koki came to Gopi and caressed her head gently, "Gopi vahu I heard what you said last night, but please give me time, I don't think I can let you go that easily, you are my daughter now, and how can I just let my daughter go, we will talk more about this after we return home, but for now just do as I say, and lets enjoy our time here, thik che?"

"Ji, maji." Gopi slowly walked towards the bedroom.

Koki watched as Gopi moved towards the room and thought, no I can't let you go that easily, without even trying to bring you close to my son. She thought about what she had seen the night before.

She had been restless and unable to sleep thinking about what Gopi had said to her, and had started to go out the room, but she stopped and observed as Ahem covered Gopi gently with a blanket and stare at her with unfathomable expression on his face. That's when Koki had realized that her son cared for his wife, and she was not going to give up on bringing them together.

Ahem was just coming out of the bathroom, his shirt buttoned half way when Gopi walked in to the room, as soon as she saw him, she turned and started to walk out, but Ahem saw her and called out her name.

"Gopi, can you come here please." Gopi was shocked to hear him calling out to her so nicely.

She went near him and stood there, looking anywhere but at him directly."Ji, did you need something?"

Ahem watched her for few seconds, noting the fact that she was avoiding looking at him directly, he frowned and looked down and realized she was embarrassed to look at him directly because his shirt was open, his eyes widen and he thought, oh wow she is attracted to me.

Wow Ahem, it took you a whole year to figure that out, how long do you think it'll take you to figure out what to do about it?

Ahem cleared his throat and thought his inner voice needed to shut up and mind his own business, he said to Gopi, "One of my shirt button is broken, can you sew it back for me?" pointing to the top button of his shirt.

Gopi glanced up and away again, "Ji, let me get the thread and needle from my bag."

"No need, the hotel has provided some, I have it right here." Ahem held up the thread and the needle.

Gopi went close to him and managed to take the needle and thread from his hand without touching him, and concentrated on threading the needle.

Ahem watched, with some fascination, as she quickly threaded the needle, and came near him and waited. He knew she was expecting him to take the shirt off, but he decided to just keep it on while she sewed the button back on, when she looked up at him he just raised his eyebrow at her.

Gopi was shocked, Ahem meant for her to put the button on while he is still wearing the shirt, her hand started trembling as she took the top part of the shirt in her hand, she concentrated hard on putting the botton on without poking him in the chest with the needle, the way he was watching her was making her extremely nervous.

Ahem kept watching her fleeting expressions, he knew he was making her nervous, but he couldn't help it, she would sneak a look at him under her lashes, but quickly looked away when she noticed him watching her.

The task was over too soon for his liking, she looked around as if she was looking for something to cut the thread with, then glanced at him and shrugged, bent her head to cut the thread with her teeth.

Ahem inhaled sharply when he felt her warm breath on his chest, it was as if a bolt of lightening had gone thru his body, and he felt his whole body shake.

When he looked at Gopi, she was blushing and realized she hadn't been uneffected to their closeness, he quickly turned at buttoned his shirt before she noticed his body's reaction to their closeness and became more embarrassed.

When he turned back, he watched as she put everythig away neatly, when she was finished she played with her fingers nervously and looked up at him, "I wanted to ask you about breakfast, what should we do?"

"We will go to the hotel's restaurant and have breakfast there, tell mom I have to go for a quick meeting, but right after that we will leave for sighseeing." Ahem finished getting ready, he looked around to be sure he hadn't forgotten anything.

He patted his pocket for his wallet, Gopi picked it up from the bed and held it out to him, he took it from her, "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, be sure to wear a heavy coat and a scarf, it will be very cold where we are going, now lets go before I am late for the meeting." they both met up with Koki and went down to breakfast.

Later that day all five of them got ready to go for the outing, Ahem decided to stick close to Gopi, he didn't want Rashi to try to play tricks on Gopi like she just did few minutes ago.

He couldn't believe the nerve of the girl, she had actually tried to talk Gopi into leaving her coat behind, and for what to carry her shopping bags, but before he could step in and blast Rashi, Gopi had quietly but firmly told Rashi, Ahem had told her to bring the coat because it was cold where they were going, so she was taking the coat and Rashi could do whatever she wanted to.

Ahem couldn't believe Gopi had stood up to Rashi, and realized Gopi had finally decided to stop doing everything her cousin told her to, and he felt proud of her for this decision.

First they went to the top of the mountain, and ate lunch at the resaurant there, then they went for a sleigh ride and took lots of pictures.

From there they took the tour of the mountain via the cableway, Ahem loved the child like wonder on Gopi's face. He pointed out many different high points of the tour to her and explained everthing the tour guide said to them.

Koki watched her dikra and vahu with a smile on her face, she was so proud of her son for finally making an effort to be nice to Gopi. She can sit back and enjoy the trip now, she won't have to worry about her Gopi vahu leaving once they go back home. She glanced over at Rashi and Jigar.

Jigar was enjoying the view outside, while Rashi was alternating between sulking and glaring at Gopi. Koki frowned at her, thinking now she only have to make sure Rashi doesn't do anything to spoil Gopi's life.

Gopi felt like she was on cloud nine, not only was she in county where she never in her life imagined she would be at, but her Ahemji was spending the whole day being close to her and showing and explaining everything to her.

But in the next moment she came crashing down. She couldn't understand why he had changed so much in just two days, how can she trust this, then thought may be he was just being nice, because he knows whe will be leaving Modi Bhavan after they returned home.

Isn't that why he had been nice to her couple of days before Nani left, because he knew she was leaving. No, she couldn't trust this change in him. She would enjoy her time in this beautiful country and only take with her the memory of the time spent with him. She couldn't let herself hope for anything more.

And there it is, one more part maybe, I had mentioned that I would end this when the Swiss track was over if not before, well it looks like its going to be before. I was very disappointed today, I felt it was waste of their money and our time. But that's just my opinion.
