Hey Guys

this has been bugging me since i watched the show today

why did Hetal n Koki agree to the ridiculous suggestion of re-gifting the items rashi-Gopi got as gifts in their weddings... for a second i though rashi did a fauxpass she is gonna regret it big time and Hetal will hear it from Koki for supporting her bahu....

but she said "saaro"... give me a break😲... since when have we started the tradition of regifting items we get as gifts...😲

and Koki with her "maari dikhri ki lagan che" has coolly accepted to regift stuff (though they might not have been used even once)... this Koki is not just Bipolar.... i don't even start to comprehend how many poles she has...

Please correct me if i am wrong... also suggest a suitable title for this post

I thought that was weird too. Re-gifting silver? Maybe an extra salad bowl, but not silver! 😆 Seems like such a cheap thing to do for the Modi parivar...

@Tammie - be it silver or anything... i basically dont understand regifting gifts you got concept...

as per gifting Silver is conserned... its like that in India...Modi's are big shots and have a level to maintain... even middle class families in South india give dowries of around 2-4 crores minimum(more than $400,000... correct me if i put extra zeroes... this i can say when $1=Rs50)

so gifting silver is not a deal but gifting your gifts is a trouble

Are you kidding me? Middle class families can afford $400K in a dowry? I consider myself middle class, but there's no way I could afford $400K for a dowry! Maybe I can marry off my son to some rich Indian gal and invest the money!

That is how it is in India... but that money doesn't necessarily have to be cash... it can be money in any form... properties, fixed deposits, gold silver and precious stones anything.... and yes in India this is the norm... coz the parents save money for Girl's marriage from her birth

@Diya - Wow. So what is an average yearly income for a middle class family? Is it a one income family or do both parents work?

Well depends if it is one income or two income family... if its 2 income family then they might have already moved on to upper middle class level😉
average income of middle class also depends on how much they save...
My dad is Professor... i don't know how much he earns coz i never asked but we don't use more than a couple of thousads a month... expense would be within 10,000rs... ie $200... coz my dad believes in saving for future... and my mom is a housewife... the rest of my dads salary goes into life insurance, bonds and other stuff
