Portrayal of Good and Evil

Lately in the past few soaps that have been dragging us along with a ride, I have noticed that all of the characters who are evil in the show never get punished for their wrong deeds. For example in Saat Phere, Kaki hasn't even been caught doing her wrong deeds with Saloni, not to mention Kaveri, who, no matter how much pain she puts Saloni and everyone else through, isn't caught. Look at Tumhari Disha. Disha dies and that evil Gargi and dumb Rano are still alive and well. They haven't been given their punishment. They keep coming back lying that they want forgiveness and then do the same deeds but never get caught or punished. Look at what happened in Piya Ka Ghar. Everyone apologized to Rimjim when she was dying but before that, no one in that house was ready to accept her as the bahu or daughter except for her father in law. They treated her so badly up till her last breath. What does that show us? Take a look at Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki. Rani and Prince die but there is the evil stepmother and evil wife to Prince. Those two killed Rani's father in law (Raj's dad not Prince's) and didn't even get caught doing so. In the end the main protagonists are dead, they have no clue what happened to their first born child and nothing bad happened to Kamya and her husband who, earlier were accusing Prince of raping her. These are just some of the many examples out there that we are seeing in many of the daily soaps we watch on TV.

I think these soaps are telling society that evil is always the winner against good and no matter how much good one does, it's not enough, even up till their last breath. Not only are the protagonists not recognized for their heroic bravery, but they are ridiculed and made a mockery of until they die. They show that life is definitely not fair, especially to those who do good. I think they are teaching society that it is okay to do all these bad things (disrespecting your elders, taking away other's naseeb, killing others for money and never getting caught, playing dirty games and tricks with family and friends, making others miserable and fooling around with others behind spouse's backs, etc) and not getting their just desserts. They are also teaching society that being good doesn't pay off because you can keep doing things for others and sacrificing yourself but in the end you die without gaining that respect you should've had during your lifetime. What do you guys think about this? I would like to hear your opinions and comments so please do comment! Thanks!

I do agree with what you say but is not the fact of life? The bad doers always wins. good ones alway suffer. But they never give up their goodness. Bad people always think that they can get away with anything. Good people never learn and forgive and forget. So the cycle goes on.

The cycle goes on but if that is being taught that good should always forgive and keep bearing the evil of others, then what is the point of anything? I think these serials should at least show the bad getting their much needed and overrated punishments. the cycle cound end if people stopped taking advantage of others and hurting other people unnecessarily.

In real life people get ahead by stepping on good people's toes. Let's us just take exaple of work place you do all the work and the things go right then who gets the credit the boss. If things go wrong and who gets the blame you.I have only seen people who are bad enjoying life because they couldn't careless who they hurt. and have seen good poeple get so much hurt. I guess we call that God's justice or pichle janam ka hisab.

Also I have hardly seen bad people changing. sometimes you loose trust in all humanbeingss because there is so much badness in this world that one feels like this world is not worth living.

Completely agree .

I really hope that the makers of Saat Phere have enough common sense and make this serial a good one with a good ending....... not something like Piya Ka Ghar or Tumahari Disha where the main protagonist dies....The evil should get punished and good should win....

well the initial saat phere story mentined the marrige fails and saloni finds her career. I hope they don't do that. As for Chandani she had no meaning of saat phere. She always wanted Brijesh. So only people care about saat phere are Saloni and Nahar. So they should be together. I am sure the end will be Saloni Nahar together after lot of trials and tribulations. They might even extend show.
