White magic on a green pitch

Even as Team India is playing England, TV stars are playing their own game of cricket. On Saturday afternoon, Bombay Gymkhana bustled with the Men in White — the Boxy Boyz — who got together for a match against Bombay Gymkhana's team.

The afternoon was put together by Dilip Agarwal, founder of the Boxy Boyz team that comprised captain Shabbir Ahluwalia, wicket keeper Indraneil Sengupta, Anand Suryavanshi, Anupam Bhattacharya, Jay Bhanushali, Kabir Sadanand, Manav Gohil, Mohit Malik, Shawar Ali, Sharad Kelkar, Vikas Sethi, Raja Bherwani and Varun Badola.

The Boyz were charged up from the first ball itself; it sure looked as though they were there to win! Mohit Malik scored a Man of the Match-winning 75 runs in nine overs. Sharing the same fervour was Raja Bherwani who bowled five overs and took three wickets! And Mohit's girlfriend Addite Shirwaikar and Anupam Bhattacharya's wife Paloumi cheered on the Boyz from the pavilion.

The Men in White won the match — afterall, the match was set up to provide the TV fraternity an opportunity to play their favourite sport, which they were good at (as we saw!) before they entered the industry.
