The CVs and Toasty specially seem to believe that a marriage is only a relationship between two people. Yes it is that, the bond of a husband and wife is the cornerstone of any marriage. But, in India, esp. a marriage is a coming together of two families. Malti, when she was married was under a similar illusion and went so far astray that she spoiled the lives of not just herself but also those around her.

Toasty seems to understand the other responsibilities that come with the marriage, but she is also deluded that if the differences between Pashu and Malti are bridged then there would be no problem.

Toasty has forgotten that when she came to this house, the family took a vote, not because she was coming as an object, but because each member of the family would have a unique relationship with her and she had to win over all of them.

Even during her own ouster Toasty refused to come back on account of the fact that Tej did not come for her. She forgot that by refusing to return with Chedi and Pashu she insulted them. In real life, if the DIL refuses to return after her Jeth and Sasur (Jeth - Husband's elder brother; Sasur - the father of spouse) come to her house with folded hands, she would've forever closed the doors to her return.

Today I realized that Malti has not changed when they showed her dream sequence. She seemed to be thinking about only Pashu and herself. She has no concept of the extent of physical, emotional and mental trauma she has caused the other members of the family. Laughably, she expected Pashu to apologize to her for not understanding her.

Both Toasty and Malti have failed the litmus test of a Bahu in this track. They need to understand that unless Ved's scars are healed, unless Dadaji is able to walk again and Chedi's trust is won there can be no return for Malti. Malti has created her own problems, there can be no return for her unless the wounds she has given are healed. If Dadaji can never get up from the wheelchair, Malti can never return to the house.

indian bahu concept itself is wrong.

what is more imp is husband and wife relationship.if pashu wants to take malthi back then it is end .no one else need to give approval of for malthis return.if they have problem then pashu and malthi can separate and live there life peacefully.

lets not forget, these people also used her servant.for that matter even these people treated tosty also like that.

ved ,pitaji, pashu all are very rude to tosty.how can now pretend like they are angels.

just because tosty is serials ideal bahu she taken so much abuse from these people.

so malthis fault is less compared what evils these 3 people did,and these 3 people don't have any regrets too.

if these 3 can be forgiven why not malthi.

if miya ,biwi raji, kya karega khaji??

Raj if you have not understood the Indian joint family system, then you have not understood the situation that Toasty and Malti have to face at all. In India a marriage is a social contract. When a girl gets married, she takes on the responsibilities of being the Bahu, Bhabhi, Chachi, Mami and numerous such roles. Indian families are very closely knit together and we do not believe in breaking up families to suit romantic inclinations of a person. A marriage is an addition to the existing family - where we acquire a family member who lives with us and shares our lives and we acquire numerous relatives and a whole new set of support structure that stands by us through thick and thin. The idea of living separately if the family does not agree is still not acceptable to most. We would rather give up the relationship than affect a breach in the existing family.

And secondly nobody becomes a servant by doing the work in one's own home. The idea that one is being treated as a servant comes in only when there is a lack of acceptance in the heart. We all do the chores around our own homes, so why should it be labelled an onerous task only when the DIL is involved?

Also, the elders in a family tend to protect the youngsters. Very often in Indian families you would find children who grow up without the least bit of idea of the trials and tribulations faced by the elders. Again you have to be part of such a family structure to understand it. In Toasty's case when Chedi or Pashu were abrupt with her, they had a reason. Toasty is new in the family, she has no idea about anyone. So if she hears that Pashu has been to jail on the grounds of cruelty to his wife or that Ved is an alleged rapist, she would never have been able to have the bond that she does with them now. After she has interacted with the family members and can judge them without prejudice, now she can take a call on who is right and who is wrong.

But like I said, to be able to fully understand all this, you should have an experience of the Indian family structure.

in the name tradition and indian family system all actually exploit women in india. but now a days time is changing and womens are realizing they are exploited .
but still you are happy with women's exploitation in the name of Indian family system then...
