Of course Anu has full control. She purposely tries not to sing too well or else the professionals will have no "roti". Keep up the good works.👏👏👏

Hey All!

I can't post any feedback as I'm a mentor now. 😭

If I did it might be interpreted as biased. 😆

However I would like to congratulate all those who participated. Especially those who have been brave enough to attempt songs such as Uppar Khudha, Mohe Beti Na Kijo and Piya Re.👏

Also how come you manage such long and difficult sentences in the song ; I would need an oxygen tank ! Maybe your lungs are made of iron ! Will recommend you for "Sabaas India" 👏👏👏

hi all,

i did not know there was a If srgmp. came across this only bcoz sunita told abt it. can the mods advertise this more so tht all can know abt this.

this is my feedback abt the round. i have not heard any1 b4 so its purely based on this round. 4give me if i am wrong.

naughty_n_nice: u have a very gud throw n enregy but a little more enrgy wud have been more wonderful. feel was there i cud connect wid u but there is a disturbance in the audio which was disturbing. nice selection of song. very well sung.

kiti_g: this is one of fav songs. ur alaap was too gud n caught my attention. its very difficult 2 sing this song especially 4 galz. i wud specially like 2 commend u in the classical notes. at some places i felt u were off-sur. so scope 4 improvement.

mala: ur voice suits the song.u have a strong voice gud throw n the energy of richa sharma cud b seen. but u were off-sur a few times. plzz work on tht.

lavanya: it was sung well n in sur but i guess it was a bit too soft n feel was missing. richa sharma voice is very powerful. maybe if u had increased the scale it wud have been more better n connection wid audience wil b more. i have not heard u sing b4 but i feel u can connect really well wid shreya ghoshal, alka songs which r softer n melodious.i request ur mentor 2 plzz note this n also work on higher notes. but must say it was very nice hearing u sing.

kalpa: ennoda fav song. nalla paadaningey. aana same prob. the energy level was not sufficient. this wil not help u connect wid the audience. kab se hain dil mein mere is of very high pitch. also felt voice cracking at places. scope 4 a lot of improvement. all the best in the next round.

evilseye: lot of disturbance in audio. u finish the sentences well. well sung. i felt the feel. gud luck ahead.

rocknroll: u startled me 4 a sec whn u started. wht a started. i dinno my speaker vol was so high. very well sung. high notes r wonderful. lower notes can b improved.
were off-sur in some places. if i am rgt whn u samg bin tere saawan aaya tht line. all in all nice one.

minirulz: oh the song again. very well sung. in fact whn i was playing ur song simulataneously wid the original it was very gud. ur high notes r very impressive. but plzz put a little more feel. very gud attempt

coollama: aa at last a guy. gud feel. very well sung. i liked the part nainon ka zeher nasheela part. i felt naina raat chalte chalte part something din go well. all in all nice finish to the round.

i hope i was not rude. i am not an expert in music. i juzz wrote wht i felt. if i am wrong plzz 4give me.

How sweet Miss rock and roll ji, I think I want to remain a neutral mentor 😊. However I will give some suggestions for all the contestants 😃 so grab them while their free 😆 jk their always free and all of you can feel free to pm me for additional queries.

I think for this round the contestants had problems on how to project correctly. Here's a tip, for those who don't already know, you should project from the diaphragm {the region just above the stomach where the bone (sternum) is in the middle of the chest}. This allows for more power rather than relying on the throat alone.

There were some scale problems. Here's what I recommend, when listening to the original pay particular attention to where the pitch changes high or low. Especially listen for scales (transition from high to low pitch or vice versa) often this is left out and it ruins the feel of the original. It would be a good idea to make notes on your lyrics sheet of where this takes place.

At times it's difficult to keep to the correct tempo of the original as there's no music. This is what most singers do they recall the tempo of the original song by tapping their foot to the beats.

Hope this helps...

Good tip. Singing from the Naabi (Navel) so to speak, is what differentiates a superficial rendition with the one that has depth.

There were some scale problems. Here's what I recommend, when listening to the original pay particular attention to where the pitch changes high or low. Especially listen for scales (transition from high to low pitch or vice versa) often this is left out and it ruins the feel of the original. I am not sure what you mean here. Typically the pitch of a song does not vary. Some exceptions like in the Lata-Asha duet Main chali main chali, the pitch goes higher towards the end of the song. Are you talking about rising and falling notes? Or probably low, middle and high octaves?

At times it's difficult to keep to the correct tempo of the original as there's no music. This is what most singers do they recall the tempo of the original song by tapping their foot to the beats.

Well the problem here is this. Tapping the foot will ensure your taal is correct. But that by itself doesn't ensure that the pace of the tapping (tempo) matches that of the original. There is no surefire way of matching the tempo except trying to record soon after you hear the original or just go with your gut.
