Summer I agree that Sonu was not in the best position to sing but the diff was far too large for a great singer like Sonu. Maybe he has not practiced the song enough and hence did not experiment. It is a very melodious song and I found Sonu's version without Melody as compared to Aneek's rendition which for a on stage performance was so melodious and with feelings.

If we talk of melody then I think generally it is the female voice which has the most melody. I may be biased but when we listen to Sreeya Goshal and Nihira or any other good female singers, it is totally not comparable and no male can come near to them ( unless in exceptional cases). Of course Male voices too have their own advantages.

Yes, Chitra Aneek song sounds better than the original ! Also when Sonu sang it on stage during lil champs, I found it not even 50% of Aneek's version. I wonder why was SOnu sounding so 'thanda' that day.

hey reema,I too felt the same😊.lille champs day, sonu sounded so thanda.I felt that aneek sang that song much better. My son too told me the same.😊

Summer, sorry to dis-agree but I dont think Melody has got anything to do with Male or female. Melody is more with the tune. Its the music arrangements and the tune of the song which combine to form Melody. So I dont think that female songs are melodious. But I do agree with you that the female singers which you refer to are again very melodious singers and their voice suits songs which follow a soft melody and hence more prominent. Even Anuradha Paudwal was a melodious singer. To an extent Sonu Nigam sings songs which are high on Melody but unfortunately that day he was not the same.

Reemji, By melodious I mean producing a sound that is highly pleasurable to listen to. Of course, for male singers we cannot use Aneek as an example because he is extraordinary. Listening to his "Main Agar Kahoon" I lose all my ability to argue. He has the ability to convey the deep sentiments and feelings hidden in a song to the listener in the most pleasurable way. But generally I think a lady can sing the same song better.

Yes Anuradha Paudwal is unbelievable and gifted, her Meera Bhajans are a classic and something I treasure.

Sorry to say this (in this thread) that you guys need to tune your ears. How can you say so many things about SONU NIGAM. Take it this way...this topic is not even open for discussion. You guys are comparing Apples with Falses. Please seek HELP to listen to both recordings one more time. May be you guys will get your answers.

FYI: Sonu sounded fantastic and did remarkable job and he is the only singer in the Industry who sounds excatly same In or Out of the Studios.

God Bless You ALL.

Sorry Mr. Singh, but Sonu's performance lacked vitality and sounded dead compared to Aneek's flawless performance. No hard feelings but I must express what I feel as I have listened to it again and again. Perhaps Sonu was tired that day.😉

I miss his Bengali songs or poems and his famous "7 Marks" to all participants who cannot speak Bengali.

He had so much gold at the Finals. Does his family own a gold mine?😆
