I've listened to Amanat's Tujhse naraaz performance numerous times. I've seen people dabbling their eyes, wiping away tears, and letting go of their emotions. I've seen people here announcing how they cried at his performance. Every single time, I've gone back and heard the performance again, to see if maybe I can cry too. But try as much as I can, I can't.

Don't get me wrong. I absolutely loved Amanat's performance! It touched me deeply, as did Sameer's performance in Lil Champs. But I couldn't even cry then, even though everyone else seemed to be running the tap quite freely. Forget crying, I don't even feel sad.

Is there something wrong with me? Am I devoid of emotions? Or maybe I just can't identify with the situation, since I've (thankfully) never had to experience any hardships. Does that make me socially insensitive?

I don't know, but when Mika gets emotional, and I can't, then something's not right.

Hey Shady! Chill it buddy.. I didnt feel sad nor did I cry during the performance! I felt a little emotional seeing the other so emotional after his performance. Its ok.. It all depends on ur mood to begin with & the happenings in our life,., and whether you are able to relate the song to your life!

Do you have a tear duct problem?

No hardships? Not even one?

Did your parents call Ajmeri Baba to get rid of all black magic the day you were born?

Seriously, though, I think the song itself and Amanat's rendition of it can have both a sad and an uplifting effect simultaneously. It's about pain, but it's also about the wonder of being alive, having a range of feelings (from sadness to awe), and the common human experience therein...there is beauty in the breakdown. And, whatever range of emotions you have experienced in life and whatever your current mood is, that is likely the way you will feel the song. Maybe that is why you cannot cry.

M sure som of u will agree wid me aye!..

Do not worry Shady, you are not alone.

I never cried, nor felt emotional, I just experienced some sort of heavenly bliss listening to the song.

I didn't cry either for both versions 😛

1. I've never seen Masoom, so that could be a contributing factor
2. I don't think I've ever connected with this song that deeply
3. My tear ducts are rarely active in terms of weeping over songs or movies or books

This song has a certain magical charm that sinks deep into my soul as if my Atma is the one listening to it and approving it, understanding it and accepting it. I just became dumbfounded and motionless as its beauty penetrated within me. I still get the same emotional and uplifting feeling even as I think of the tune without anyone singing or even as I read they lyrics to the song or recall the performance. There is so much love in the song and the tune that my breathing and thinking all stops.
