Perfectly put!..I think its quite a feat getting singers from Pakistan to sing on an Indian platform,and to celebrate the Independence day TOGETHER was definitely praise-worthy,as it's happening for the first time.We can definitely rise above the shallowness and petty gripes,can't we??.Trust me,it wouldnt have been a pushover for the co-ordinators,organising the show without hurting the sentiment of the UNIVERSAL AUDIENCE...It's a touchy subject actually,with people of both the nations,what with so much of grisly history behind the two countries and the scourge of wars ..Most Indians are tolerant,but to be candidly honest,I'm afraid I cannot say that every Indian would have absolutely comfortable with the idea of overt Pakistani patriotic songs being rendered on the show,thus I wouldnt blame the producers if they decided to play safe and tried not to get into a sticky wicket ....We would want to adopt the "glass is half full" outlook on the episode,and be glad that foreigners were permitted to praise their nation and celebrate its Independence day,rather than ranting over the glass being half empty because a few lines were chopped out..I'd infact be over the moon if an Indian singer was allowed to sing the Vande Mataram in Pakistan,even if a few lines or stanzas were omitted,but well,that's just me....

Coming to the voting,certain contestants like Mauli have a constant vote bank consisting of voters whose allegiance is for the "person" and not for the "performance"...Whereas some poeple vote for the "performance" alone,and those people vote for the songs which appeal to them on a personal/emotional level..Certain songs would wonderfully strike a chord with the Indian audience---for instance "Vande Mataram"(both versions, sung by Poonam and Raja respectively) and the song which Aneek sang---so they are bound to get more votes from that particular section of voters

I agree with u all.thatss not fair..they should have let them sing "pakistan hai humara" okay no porbs they are in india so they cant sing for pak...poor boys 'becharee phas gayee😆

Very well said..👏👏 👏....I think its a big thing for such a big indian show to let Pakistani singers participate and again a big thing for Paki singers to stay on top and come to the top nine ...If only pakistanis are voting for them I doubt that tehy could be in top nien..so I am pretty sure that indians are voting for them too. So we should applaud indian for taking the big step.
