Mentors have been giving 10/10 to every body like baba ji ka parsad. Should degree of difficulty of the song be considered before awarding 10/10. Simple song sung perfectly may get 9/10 and difficult song sung perfectly may get 10/10....or any song sung perfectly should get 10/10 as it is difficult to classify which is simple and which is difficult song. What are your views?

I think singing a very difficult song very well should set the standard for a 10, and the judges should scale performances down from then. For example, if a contestant chose an easy song and sang well, s(h)e should deserve anywhere from 7-9. This show is about challenging contestants to sing the best they can...good performances in moderately easy songs shouldn't be their number one goal.

I think this is a valid point. But for this everybody has to agree for degree of difficulty of the songs and rate them.

Another point , degree of difficulty of songs is not that simple. Some singers who are able to sing heavy and difficult songs are not able to sing seemingly simpler songs without disturbing the original mood of the song and they feel uneasy when there is nothing vocally challenging in the song, so in a sense the so called easy songs may be difficult for them.

Unless there is an agreement about the degree of difficulty of the songs in given set of songs to choose from , i do not see this rating system being successful.

I agree.
And I don't see their being an agreement on the degree of difficulty of the songs cos it varies from singer to singer. I'm sure each mentor has his own definition of a difficult song. For Vishal, his criteria may be versatility. If a singer picks a song "out of their comfort zone" and sings it successfully, that may be a 10/10 for him. For HR, succeeding in one's own genre. For another mentor, singing semi-classical/classical songs? 😕

Another thing is that initially they shd start with a mediocre rating, bcuz once they like someone's song they straightaway give a 10; rather they shd give him/her a 9/8 as someone who sings better than that person later can be given a 10/9 respectively..otherwise if a person sings an easy song nicely may get a 10 and later if someone sings a difficult song more nicely then also he will get a 10..So there wont be a comparative rating..

Yes good point.
How about the mentors give the ratings at the end, after listening to everyone?

Also i will suggest that each mentor rate them before any of the other mentors give any comments and rating be kept secret till all of them finish their sermons and flash their ratings at the same time.

Your point is extremely valid Amit, and so is Gopalbhai's.

Just make them sing the same song... takes away ALL the FUN altogether, but no other way to judge and compare singing IMHO.. 😊

i think everyone should give points as bappida. actually we call bappida stingy, but if everyone starts giving the points as he does, then giving 10/10 would mean quality singing. also they must change the format of the show. when the announce the theme, they should also let the singers know the mood of the song, in this way it will narrow down to quality singing.
