there was this first megafinal series with mohd. vakil, parthiv, bela that was simply awesome. each performance surpassed the other.
also ameys performance, shreya........
too many to just name a few. we have vhs tapes of most of the series and still enjoy them.
I wish zeetv releases those shows on dvd

nihira, himani and hemachandra from 2005
and raja, amanat and sumedha from the current series

I have only seen the more recent Saregampa seasons, but have seen clips of the old, old seasons on youtube and I must say that the singers now don't compare. Of what I've heard I like:

Vijay Prakash ('99 Megafinal, ghazal round song- unbelievable voice and performance)
Jaswinder ('99 Megafinal, ghazal round song)
Amanat (Yeh Hosla - definitely the best this season, Mitwa, Kadhi Aa Sanwal)
Hemachandra (Nahin Samne - best in recent years)
Himani (Jiya Dhadak Dhadak, Chittiye)
Sharib (Lagan Laagi)
Sandip (Chaturinar Bari Hoshiyar, really good performance)

Almost every song sung by Himani & Vinit was memorable for me. They rarely made mistakes, if any.

But towards the end, Hemu had also become my fav with Nahin saamne & the song in Bluffmaster.

Vineet and Aneek sound so much alike as if they are brothers unless Vinit went for a plastic surgery. Both are all ready for the recording industry. They make even boring songs very listenable.

Certain voices do not bend and curve but touches your heart straitaway.
